    Dylamug

Here is my second attempt at customizing- Dylamug! Surely fans will recall this creepy character from the POP cartoon. Basically I took a Roboto figure, wrapped a load of Apoxey resin round him, stuck some Lego bricks in him, tubs, all sorts, and anything I could cannibalize basically. It didn't take a lot of scupting, but the 3rd figure I am attempting is Shadow Weaver. Then I think I will do Plundor, just in time for Easter. Enjoy!

    Thanks for the feedback, guys

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the feedback. I'm quite happy with the way it turned out. Yeah, I want to get old Plundor ready by Easter . Alright, he will have a Tri-Clops base (repainted), which I know has been done before by various other customizers out there, but they all looked very good and I wanted one in my collection. Only the head will require tooling. I am, however, in the midst of creating Shadow Weaver. I will upload pictures when she's ready. I am also looking into molding and resin casting to create duplicates. Bought some silicone and various other things. I am thinking, if parts of these figures can be copied the custom figures themselves might do well on the secondary market. I do have ideas for more figures along the line.

Tyke, I just this moment seen your customs. They are awesome! I noticed that you had the same idea about the Plundor figure . I hope you don't mind me doing something similar. I thought your Dylamug was absolutely brilliant. It really does the original concept drawing by Ted Mayer justice. And Hand-some was great! I was actually looking round for the purchase button , I'd have actually bought some of those if they were available.

That is a great re-use of parts and imagination, he is probably one of the hardest characters to put into a figure with his design.

Thanks so much. Yes, admittedly I am really finding this customizing hobby really fulfilling. I haven't been doing it long, but it is really challenging, trying to find ways of doing things, making things work, and learning new techniques in the process. It gives the mind something to do. And, really, when you are customizing a figure, the best thing about MOTU is that you don't necessarily have to stay true to the original design of a character. There is plenty of artistic licence involved. Everyone contributes something different to the overall look of a character.
I've been thinking that maybe my Shadow Weaver figure should have a similar action feature as the vintage Sorceress figure in that her cloak should unfold from behind her neck. My brain is buzzing at the moment on how I'm going to pull this off .

Well, I've been looking into ways of making molds of these figures. When I am ready, and copies are made, I am considering making some available. This is one of my challenges.

I'm honored you like my stuff! That Plundor recipe isn't "invented" by me....I found the inspiration from many customizers out there! Good luck on yours, I'm sure it'll be great!

Just been working on both Plundor and my Shadow Weaver figure this morning. Plundor is coming along fine. Also my Shadow Weaver will have an action feature very similar to the vintage Sorceress figure in that her cape will come with a peg which will allow her shawl to rise and fall in much the same way as the Sorceress' wings did back in the 80s.
