Isnt HHH's symbol closely related to He-mans symbol?
Yeah, we aren't saying its REALLY Castle Grayskull, but as an icon goes, it's much much more Grayskull than anything else. I mean as i said google it and you will see it's what many many people immediately thought of when they saw it. The reason I point it out is to illustrate that even without any major entertainment push MOTU is still instantly recognizable and in people's minds somewhere. this image conjurs up He-Man to most folks and that's saying something esp since most people have no idea that there has been he-man stuff AFTER the 80s.

To be honest I couldn't tell it was green? Looked pretty dark with maybe some flouresent green lighting? I only saw it in this thread and your link. But I do remember the Triple H headress as I think it would make a nice mix and match piece for MOTUC figures if it fits?
People are going to say it's just an iron cross it's been used by many things etc, which is true, it's just funny HHH is from the generation that grew up with he-man, it's not unreasonable that he is/was a fan of the band, or that he took his design cues from the brand. ok it's technically not a castle but it evokes the look of it and again lots of non-fans said it as soon as they saw it. HHH looks the type to love Conan, he-man all that barbarian stuff.
Again we aren't saying it IS REALLY grayskull but to deny that the image is familiar, that's just being blind.

if they can't see it's familiar, not if they disagree, there's a difference. because the images corelate someway, NOT seeing means you are being blind to the similarities. if YOU don't think of MOTU seeing it, fine, but denying that there is a resemblance I just don't understand how it can be disputed that it evokes a familiarity.
Sitting here saying "THAT'S NOT GRAYSKULL!" well you're right it's NOT Grayskull in reality, but it conjures up the thought, esp in comparrison to the KG box. it's the exact same shape (outline) of that with the same centrepiece, with the same function. (door/portal)

i really don't think it's familiar to castle grayskull. not in any meaningful way. i guess that makes me blind.
i don't think any less of you or anyone else who does see similarities.
I don't think less of you as a person, to be less confrontational in what I mean, to deny the things that we point out as iconic images in HHH stuff in comparrison to MOTU meaningful or not doesn't make sense to me, sure MOTU isn't the first property to have something witha skull facade, but it's the most iconic, just as anyone holding up a sword and gaining power from a lightning strike is co-related to he-man. I mean the images are there.
at the end of the day you don't see it and it is surprising, because as a member of this board you're a fan, and many non fans reacted instantly to it saying "hey HHH came out of Grayskull! cool!" It's something I posted because I didn't expect it to be controversial in ANY way. I posted it for fun and for my fellow fans to smile at the image and at the fact that many still recognize MOTU, even if they don't know of classics or the 2002 line. You don't see it, you don't see it, but i'm personally amazed because I thought everyone would AT LEAST feel it's familiar enough to say "hey, cool!" or something like that.

Wrestlers are little more than cheesy 1 dimensional characters who sometimes in their careers go through huge image overhauls to rebrand themselves, and attract new fans.
Triple H has gone from a prim and proper, snooty aristocrat, to a smack talking sweaty douche bag, to this new incarnation, which appears to be pulling from fantasy warriors. I have not watched wrestling for 15 years, and I know this.
Considering his size and blond hair, it is not outside the realm of possibility that someone behind the scenes, advised him to pull from MOTU and designed a backdrop that would mimic the iconic green castle. If it was light in any other color, I wouldn't have given this post a thought. People will argue this regardless.

Looks cool but I'm not seeing Grayskull though.

thanks for this thread I totally missed it, I had gone into the kitchen to grab a soda when he came out. Undertaker looked awesome though.
I agree that it is just a large bust of his attire of the skull king he wears, but if the 78,000+crowd and millions of people at home see Castle Grayskull and think He-man, that is awesome too.![]()
Green castles with the center shaped like a skull with a muscle bound man coming out of the jawbrdidge are extremely common. I can think of plenty of examples where this happens.

Problem is it's not a castle at all. It's a giant bust. Skulls are common (everyone has one), not every design with a skull in it is a reference to Grayskull or Skeletor. I think it's a bit of a stretch, just my opinion.

It's not even a skull. It's two windows next to each other with a large opening underneath.
Nothing to argue here. At frist glance it did indeed remind me of Castle Grayskull. If it was meant to do that, it's a cool nod. If it wasn't meant to do that, well, it sort of did anyway. Either way, Wrestlemania pulled off another image that managed to get attention and be talked about, and that is what they want all the time. I'm a huge WWE fan, so I see a lot of their product, and most of the time i don't associate it with much, but this time my first thought was for sure "hey that looks like Grayskull" so Krosfyah, my imagination matches yours. Maybe one day we will see a more direct comparison. Either way it's a fun thing to see, a fun thing to imagine about. If you saw the similarities, great, if you disagree, that's fine too. No reason to make a big deal out of disagreeing.

This is just like the Madonna appearance at the Super Bowl. There are similarities, but a bit of a stretch.
Thank you for your post of sanity Big Country.
It is my personal opinion that people are looking to hard and wanting a castle Greyskull to badly.
I bet Big County could stand in front of a green house with a sword held high and you people would swear that's He-Man in front of Castle Greyskull.
Both sides have made that same argument against the other.
My seller/trader/buyer feedback:

MOTUC Most Wanted: Skeletor's Robot Knights, Two-Bad, Horde Troopers, Modulok, Sssqueeze, Tung Lashor, Stridor, Night Stalker, the Battle Ram, and a true, alternate head for Wun-Dar (since he's a "different" character)!
It's not even a castle, it's clearly the armor from last year blown up. It's clearly a skeleton helmet with some shoulder pads on either side. First the Madonna thing, now this. The Super Bowl get-up at least somewhat resembled bubble power she-ra's armor a little, but this isn't even meant to be a castle. Stretching it kind of far.
Can't we agree and say that although it was not meant to be, it had SLIGHT similarities and that's that. I mean when we all saw Madonna, every had fun with it and didn't get so critical or offended. I mean when Triple H wore that Barbarian gear we all know we was putting it out there he was interested in the new Conan project and let's see Conan<>He-man= all kind of similar.... What it truly looks like is a conversation piece, therefore here we are!!
