Yep. And Nazi/White Supremacist iconography.
See? One can relate anything really, if one is looking hard enough!
Wow. Look down your nose a people, much?
As far as his "new incarnation" goes, if you'd watched during the last 15 years, you'd know that his method was far more Conan than He-Man...all the way down to the King Conan throne in HHH's videos/entrances.
Seems kind of out of place that you'd make such a judgmental statement about an entire profession. I expected better.
Here's that "castle" again, LOL!

I was actually thinking That's So Raven.
I see the resemblance, but it's still pretty far off from being an accurate Castle Grayskull. The only thing that it really has going for it is that it has a skull and it's green. Yeah, it does bear more of a resemblance to that box that the original King Grayskull figure came in as you posted, but that box was a pretty crappy representation of the castle as well. I know they probably couldn't have done better given the limitations of that box, so I give them credit for the effort, but it's still a poor representation of the castle in the grand scheme of things.

Hey BIG C' that last shot reminds me of this...

I do not care what anyone says but that is about as close as we have had to a live action MOTU in years lol![]()
I want NA Skeletor and Rio Blast and I want them now!
This morning I walked out and the grass had formed what appeared to be a Castle Grayskull-esque formation. It had eyes that glowed due to the sunlight. A brown patch strongly resembled the drawbridge door (I even managed to open it!)
God sent a message. MOTU is alive and well!

MOTUC Most Wanted: Skeletor's Robot Knights, Two-Bad, Horde Troopers, Modulok, Sssqueeze, Tung Lashor, Stridor, Night Stalker, the Battle Ram, and a true, alternate head for Wun-Dar (since he's a "different" character)!
I'll tell you one thing...... As a kid I would've recognized that as Castle Grayskull, a lot quicker then I did this hideous thing...................

You have no taste! That Castle rocked man! Not my ultimate Grayskull but still damn cool!
As for the HHH thing!
I do not think HHH set out to mimic MOTU out right but probably knew how similar the iconography was and just ignored that because he just thought a castle with a skull on was cool!
He would also be aware that he has been touted (why I have no idea) as a both a potential Conan or a potential He-Man.
So on the other hand, he could be trying to kill two birds with one stone with this stuff.
I do not think this is a far as a stretch as the Madonna thing. That was in my opinion wishful thinking. Not exactly a rare accurance that.![]()

When I saw it the first thing I thought of was Castle Grayskull. Sure, its not an exact replica but there is no doubt where the designers drew their inspiration from.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I guess it's just the shoulders and head of the HHH character!
I wonder if somebody in concepts got SDCC King Grayskull Exclusive figure as all I see when I look at that photo is that!![]()

hey, look. it's HHH.
That is not a castle. It's a fortress shaped like a skull!
Any time a muscle-bound blonde anglo walks out the mouth of a green skull, the first thing I'm gonna think is He-Man.
I just watched the Wrestlemania 28 entrance on Youtube. The MOTU coincidence is just a fluke. Or some set designers subconscious at work.
While on the subject; The Madonna/BP She-Ra thing was utterly ridiculous.
Okay allow me to make a much needed correction. Triple H went from a snooty, bowing, prancing aristocrat character, to a sweaty, smack-talking, degenerate douche bag, to finally arrive at Cimmerian Barbarian King supreme.
There is no reference to He-Man in his gimmick, and any similarities thought up by the entertainer and his marketing team is purely coincidental. People will argue this either way.
No judgement. Just an opinion based on my observation. How's that?

There's a video from ToyFare from a few years ago where Triple H says to the president of Mattel (or some other such company big-wig) something along the lines of "They tell me you're the one I need to talk to about playing He-Man." The Mattel guy was nice, but it seemed clear to me that he wants a wrestler to play He-Man about as much as I do (that would be not very much). Anyway, I didn't watch much more of that video but it was also clear that Triple H knew who He-Man was and was into him, at least in so far as that he thought it would be awesome to play him (yes, that warmed me up to the idea a bit). Long story short, Triple H knows of He-Man and seems to be a fan, so there's no way he's not merely aware of the similarities between his Wrestlemania entrance and MOTU, but he's also totally cool with it.
For the record I want to say that while I haven't been much of a wrestling fan since I was about 8 (though I did watch a good amount during college due to a good friend/roommate), the MAIN reason I don't think a wrestler should play He-Man is cuz I've never seen one that's all THAT good of an actor. MAYBE some have come along since I've completely stopped watching (about 11 years ago), but I kinda doubt it. (Dang it! I was trying to make it sound like I didn't look down my nose at all the people of the profession, but I'm pretty sure I failed. Sorry! I'm really not a judgemental person, but I may have had a nightcap....or two.)
And as far as the pic of HHH in a throne and King Conan in the throne, why does Triple H's have to be one or the other? To me it looks like the Conan pic with MOTU influences; and if anything, with the Iron Cross and skulls, it looks more MOTU...but I'm more than willing to call it an equal blend and be happy with that.
Dude, I know I've kinda picked on you on the Spector stuff, but I have to admit, that made me literally LOL.
I'm not a wrestling fan and I can't believe how anyone could NOT see the similarities. (I know it's actually HHH's helmet/gear/whatever and not ACTUALLY supposed to be Grayskull, but that doesn't mean they don't look SIMILAR.)
Can I get an "AMEN!"?!
I can't even begin to tell you how much that made my day.

I watched Wrestlemania at work and here is what I thought of when I saw HHH's entrance. Being one of the heirs of the McMahon empire has it's previleges. HHH is a huge He-Man fan but he always walks the line on copyright infringement. I think he is going for a more barbarian warlord look with his entrances in Wrestlemania. I, however, do not think his intent was Castle Grayskull. It was a pretty cool entrance.
