Orko?! I've been waiting for him to go on sale again, glad I'm getting another shot at him. Count Marzo will be another one that I'll get. Now if they would only "re-release" King Grayskull...

If it's true, then it will be TPHM, and either another TK for me, or I'll get an Orko, since I wanted the regular version, but got the color change version at the time I bought it months back.

Still hoping BA He-Man will show up again, and Zodac.

No kidding! I was just about ready to trade someone straight across for a shadow weaver Lately, Orko seems to fetch similar prices on e-bay...

Now, maybe I can snatch one on sale day!

Can someone explain to me why Tri-Klops would come without the original burst, and how we could know this already? Last month I received Webstor without the original burst and I was shocked. I'm very interested to know how this process works.

    Thanks mucho lotso!

That is until they need money and reissue every character for n00bs.

I just hope they don't make the maximum quantity 99, that's just ridiculous. It doesn't give everyone fair opportunity to buy him. I think they should limit him to 10 maximum quantity.

Yes I agree I don't understand this crazy limit of 99 heck I would even limit it to just 5 if possible so it gives a better chance for collectors to grab at least 1.

I'd say 5 should be the limit, but that you can reorder 5 as many times as you like... you just have to deal with the white screen of death each time. This would be way more fair to everyone.

I am on the fence of getting Thunder Punch He-man. I am already getting one with my sub but would kinda like one to open loose. I never had him as a kid, but I am kinda against buying variants to open. I guess he does come with the comic. Is anyone else here buying an extra one to open and keep moc?

Oh yeah totally agree with the 5 limit too.

I hate to be the nay-sayer, but I second that.
If Orko is being part of the sale again, it has to be leftover CS stock and will sell out as quickly as Teela/Scareglow during the March sale.
I honestly hope I'm wrong though!

I think you are totally right, on November BF/CM Teela, Orko, Scareglow and Whiplash were sold out very quickly, then in march sale, Teela and Scareglow lasted 5 seconds. So if they have Orko/Adam, they have a few of them. But last time Zodac said Coming soon and then it was changed to Sold out. So everything may happen!

There is some debate on this issue and it depends on how you perceive the situation. Mattel will not and has not actually divulged any production procedures or numbers. Mattel did admit that they printed the inserts for the original and "reissue" runs at the same time due to budget/cost reasons.

However, some fans have researched & analysed and believe that beginning in 2010, Mattel actually produced both the original and reissue figures in one large batch run. They offered the non-burst batch during the initial sale and held onto the "reissue" batch for later release. This may have been proven with the release of Roboto. He showed up on the market in almost a 50/50 split of non-burst and burst packaging. We have also seen the "reissue" packaging leak (to a much lesser degree) with Vikor, Bow, Catra and Sy-Klone.

The only figures that Mattel actually went back and "turned on the machine" again for are He-Man / Skeletor / Man At Arms / Beast Man / Mer Man / Stratos / Faker / Hordak / Battle Cat / Tytus.

To answer your question, Webstor was late 2009. At that time, Mattel had boosted production to help avoid same day sell outs, but had not yet started split production. Webstor initial sale lasted for 6 days and many felt that Mattel "pulled him" and he didn't really sell-out. Apparently that was the case, as he didn't even sell out during last month's sale either. This is why there is no "the original" burst on Webstor.

The same applies for Tri Klops. He was the first figure to have the higher production (and also first regular figure to have the white mailer box). His original sale lasted almost 3 days and he obviously didn't "sell out" either. Multiple cases of him were spotted this year at NYCC and he also appeared in the Black Friday sale last year. If he is available again, he will most likely not have the "the original" burst either. I will probably pick up one, just in case though.

This theory also explains why we have not yet seen the "reissues" of Teela / Scareglow / King Randor / Zodak / Goddess. All of the post SDCC 2009 figures had larger productions that didn't "sell out" and Mattel hadn't officially started bulk producing the initial runs.

You have to remember, at this point in the line, Mattel was getting use to sell outs in less than a day. Zodac lasted for 4 days and that was not a good sign. It's probably the reason why he is the only of the original figures not to have been truly "reissued." The late 2009 "sell out" times were Tri Klops (2 days 6 hours), Webstor (6 days), Teela (4 days), Zodak (12 days 4 hours), Scareglow (1 day, 3 hours), King Randor (2 days, 4 hours), Goddess (13 days).

With Adora, split production started and the initial sale of Adora (Jan 2010) only lasted 27 minutes. Of course, they still can't get rid of all the "reissue" Adora stock. It's very suspect that the early 2009 figures all sold out in less than a day, then the late 2009 figures all stuck around for days, and then early 2010 we were back to in less than a day (sometimes in less than an hour!) Evil Lyn sold out in 6 minutes!

Also, Clawful should be the last figure to have had the bulk production. Therefore, Man E Faces will most likely not have "the original" burst either. TG stated that no figures would have a "reissue" starting with Man E Faces. Hmm... or was it Leech, I'll have to look that one up!

MikeTheDrummer & I have been trying to get Scott/TG to provide us a complete list of the figures that were produced with the "the original" variant packaging. It would certainly help out the MOC completist collectors.

A lot of information, I know... But the trends can easily be seen when you look at the line history as a whole.

You know... Whiplash is the thorn in everyone's side. He is the only figure that does not follow the pattern. He was August 2010 and there is no explainable reason why his "reissue" version hasn't appeared yet. Keldor (June), Count Marzo (July), Chief Carnivus (Sept) and Gygor (Sept) have all had their "reissue" stock released.

The only clue lies in the fact that in May 2011, when Whiplash was supposed to be "reissued," there was a month delay and then he sold out in minutes when offered the following month. I wonder if something happened to the Whiplash reissue stock. It's possible that it got lost during transport from China. I wonder if TG will ever shed the light on that mystery.

That's a good question. Seriously though, please don't jinx us by suggesting that $40 be the 2013 price point?

If that was ever the case....sorry, I'm out....only to get Mekaneck, Ram-Man, Dragstor & Mantenna....and they would be the last MOTUC I'd ever buy. I hope they never go that high, if so, then they'd better be the best figures, defect free, on time & last forever....and we know that will never happen

I wonder if the $40 Keldor is an April Fool's joke, cuz I am sure the idea that figures one day costing $40 each came up in an episode of Roast Gooble or something (as a joke to make a point or something)

Almost exactly my thoughts. My 4 at any price would be Mekaneck, Ram-Man, Two Bad and Mantenna.

I'm telling you the extra $20 is to help pay for the "tooling" costs for the 200x swords, oh and you'll also get a mini figure shaped like a simian demo-man to put on Keldors back. Hahaha.....
