figures you never knew of as a kid

Now that I'm getting He-man for my don I see there some figures I never heard of as a kid. I guess cause I was out of it by the end of the run. The ones that shock me are:
    King Randor
    The Sorceress
    Teela
I'm shocked I didn't know about teela. Maybe back then I didn't care for a girl figure. Of curious there are others but those a main ones.

I have no memory of a lot of guys from waves 5 and 6. Guys like snakeface, twistoid, randor, sorceress, dragstor, gwildor, saurod, blast attak, multibot.

I do remember having some of them (clamp champ, scareglow, extendar, mosquitor).

For the most part, I have no interest in getting most of the 'unknown' guys - at least not at the going rate.

I don't remember any of the dinosaurs (Bionatops). I have two or 3 of the Meteorbs from when I was young, but I don't remember seeing any of them in stores. Variants like Flying Fists He-Man, Terror Claws Skeletor, the laser Light figures, and Hurricane Hordak were new to me when I saw pictures of them in toy publications in the late 90's. Of standard figures, I don't remember Multi-Bot, Rotar, Snake Face, Sssqueeze, and Twistoid. All the others I remember or owned.

You didn't know about Teela? Wow ... (tries not to fall of of chair )) Randor or the Sorceress I can get, as they were both very late entries figure-wise (and as such, not on the shelves for as long), but Teela - she was right there through the whole run, one of the key figures.

There were a few for me that I kinda half-knew of but not a whole lot about in the last wave or so (when I still loved the line, but was longing for a return to the simple, bold "barbarian" origins, so didn't read up so much on the new characters).

Well I think that's a fair one as they had a very limited release (Tytus and Megator were only ever released in Italy, for anyone wondering), so most of the collecting community didn't even know they existed.

The only figures I never knew of were Megator and Tytus, since they were exclusive overseas. And there was no internet yet to ever know....

There were many figures I didn't know about back during MOTU's original run when the line was in its last years. Clamp Champ, Blade, Saurod, Snake Face, Sssqueeze, Multi Bot, Rotar, Twistoid, Tytus and Megator. Blast Attack was the last figure I got and I knew about Sorceress but alas never got her. All other figures I had (excluding variants).

I actually had Squeeze, but I hated him. I have him now, but I still don't like him all that much. He would be a much better figure if he had regular arms

I knew of most figures. I remember commercials and seeing in catalogues all the figures you guys mentioned here and I had Dragstor as a kid and aa few of the other obscure ones that people don't know of. The ones that were totally new to me were Blast Attak and most of the New Adventures guys.

I never knew about the twistoids, meteoroids, ssssqueeze, or snake face till a few months ago. Don't have much interest in twistoids or meteorids either but my son loves Ssssqueeze. The last figures I ever got as a kid were Horde Trooper, Rio Blast, and Mosquitor. I begged for scare glow and was shot down. Thats actually the last figure I remember seeing in the store. (K-mart and they had two pegs of just him....if only mom knew then what he goes for now!)

Rather depressingly, the last figure I ever bought new was Gwildor. I generally didn't focus as much on the later waves (too many gimmicky, hi-tech characters for my pre-Filmation tastes), but I'd decided as a kid that I liked him in the motion picture!

I remember after that when the line wound down, I went into a big department store in Windsor near me during school half-term, and they had end-of-line figures selling really cheaply. They had Beast Man and Evil Lyn - both of which, seeing as I'm a early mythos fan, oddly escaped my collection first time round), and as much as I looked longingly and pleaded, my mother wasn't having any of it - she'd decided by that point that I was too old for toys!! ...20+ years later and I'm still collecting them!!

I remember having all the figures of all waves but the giants. However the only thing I never saw in Spain was the Eternia playset. Even now I dont know any Spanish guy here in the org or ebay who had it available to sell it.

Never knew about the final wave of He-Man & Skeletor variants, Megator, Tytus, Netossa, Spinnerella, Loo-Kee, Shower Power Catra or Bubble Power She-Ra, or Royal Swiftwind. Also pretty much about 99% of the NA figures (I happened upon a He-Man figure in KB Toys when I was in high school, but since it was all-new packaging and the figure looked like it was GI Joe-sized, I don't even think I picked it up out of curiousity. Just thought "Huh, that's weird... someone stole the 'He-Man' name for a new toyline...").
Everything else, I was on top of when I was a kid. Had the three dinosaurs, had Eternia, awaited He-Ro... never happened. With PoP, I think a lot of stores just stopped stocking new stuff at some point after the Crystal horses were introduced. I bought absolutely everything, but never even saw Perfuma, the Crystal Falls, or the Sea Harp in the stores- knew them from the cardback/cartoon/whatnot- I had all the other wave 2 PoP figures, but for whatever reason Perfuma, Sea Harp, and the Crystal Falls playset never arrived in my neck of the woods- nor did some of the 2nd wave of Fantastic Fashions.

I never knew of Blast-Attak. Saw him in a catalog for Figures Inc. in the mid 90's, and got him carded for $15. It was my only link from the end of the vintage line to the commemorative. He's a pretty cool figure.

Also never knew of the dinosaurs (or The Powers of Grayskull line) until I saw them on eBay. And of course the Italian releases.

I think that every single figure was available in Greece and I remember all of them, though I didn't actually own them all. However, I had a friend who owned whatever I missed (including Tytus and Megator) so I'm familiar with the whole toyline.

However! The dinosaurs were never available here, they are the only exception... but since the topic is referring to figures, I don't think that I missed anything. Maybe Eternia also... but I get flashes of seeing it in stores. I could be wrong though.

Also, I never owned anything PoP. I'm not sure if I remember them at stores, it's kind of blurry. But I wouldn't bother anyway, since before the She-Ra cartoon was released in VHS, I had no idea about She-Ra, while I owned Hordak and other Evil Horde villains.

Figures Inc! I ordered loads of stuff from them in the mid-90s really cheap, including Blast-Attak. A lot of the carded figures from Figures Inc. were $15.

These were mine too. I never saw Sorceress, Randor, or any of the later figures in the store. I knew they existed through a combination of seeing them in a JC Penny or Sears catalog or seeing them at a friend's house. I remember in particular a friend had Scare Glow and I was fascinated by it as I'd never seen it. He had Ninjor too.

I'm in the same boat. I thought I had the last waves of MOTU. I remember it was during xmas and I was like 12 when I bought Clamp Champ, Sorceress, King Randor, and the last wave of figures. I thought that was it, but then in the early 90s I decided to get online and buy my childhood dreams.

It was then that I went online and I saw pics of those missing figures. It wasn't until a toy convention in Dallas, TX back in 97 that I actually saw all those figures at a vendor's booth. I was a poor college kid then, so there was no way I could afford it. Now that some years went by I still can't afford it.

These for me since they weren't available in the states, although I'm not sure if I remembered any of the Powers of Grayskull dinosaur stuff as well.

Megator, Tytus, LL & LP He-Man and Skeletor. The only figure from the original American line that I never had for some reason was Snake Face. Had no idea he existed until the late 90's.

Other than that, I knew of & owned everyone except Evil-Lyn, Teela and the Sorceress. (My parents didn't want me playing with "dolls.")

My mom said the same thing when I asked for She-ra.....although she let me have Evil Lyn and Teela since their lack of real hair made them figures and not dolls...lol

My son had a yard sale thing at school last week. He told me that night that some mom had a teela figure. Wish I knew. I would have picked it up. I'm sure it was under a $1. Sadly he is 6 and didn't have money.
