I don't like the fact that Mattel is losing control of this line. Not good.
I love MOTUC so much because it brings about nostalgia from a time when life was so much simpler. After reading through most of this thread I actually have a headache though, which really seems to defeat the purpose of this hobby for me. I understand peoples frustration here, sounds like a nightmare to purchase these toys - toys that I imagine most people collect for the same nostalgic reasons I do. I have never had a sub, so I can't comment on any personal experience with DR customer service, but I can say my jaw actually dropped at some of the responses to paying customers very valid concerns. I don't know enough about the big business practices of a company like Mattel to comment on the 'logistics' of it all, but common sense dictates to me that even with the (understandably) frustrated and emotionally charged questions, this kind of treatment is not going to do any business any favors. I've finally caught my collection up, but I was lucky to get 70 figures in one fell swoop for a great deal. The remaining few I've purchased individually with no headache, and maybe spent an extra 50 bucks more than I would have with the sub. I got my Sorceress and Fisto weeks ago from ebay. After reading what so many of you have gone through here, I think that extra 50 bucks was money well spent. Now I'm caught up, I had every intention to purchase a 2013 sub for convenience sake so that I don't get behind again. It doesn't sound like there is anything convenient about purchasing a sub though. I know that buying a sub is encouraged, but there's no way I would want to deal with this kind of hassle, headache, and disregard all for something that I collect to remind me of the simple joys of childhood. I think this is the greatest toy line around, all my figures are top notch and if there are small defects in the paint applications or reversed shoulders etc, those are all things I can live with and not complain about. I DO notice what people are dealing with here, and I'm sure many more like me who have mostly just read these forums without commenting notice this to. I see a lot of good things about this line, it seems like there people involved who really do care, and I appreciate a lot of the little attention to detail and nods to fans they throw in. I can't commit to a sub in good faith when I consistently see so many people so understandably unsatisfied. I want this line to continue and I want to do every thing I can to support it. I'm pretty easy to please, quick to forgive and hesitant to complain, but wow, I felt like what people are experiencing here warranted a response. A sub is just not worth the stress to me. MOTUC is my way to disengage from the stress of real life, and I won't let it become something that adds to that stress, rather than taking it away.

The interesting thing is that it seems that questions which are too "inconvenient" are been moved to the member feedback section. Does Mattycollector.com really think that trying to sweep the problem under the carpet will make it go away?
I received Fisto and Sorceress but got screwed out of the Shadow Weaver and map, because apparently it's my fault that DR sent out cancellation email and now i won't receive my sub figure/map,wasn't just Fisto that they screwed up on and for that reason alone i am already buying from a second party rather than Mattel/DR.
if they wanted to sweep it under the carpet, why would they move it to the appropriate forum...you know, instead of deleting it or something? not everything is a conspiracy.
Maybe the member feedback section is the road less traveled on that site...![]()
Except that not only is the feedback section generally ignored by the forum staff (ie Digital River), but what is getting moved are questions directed to Scott.
This isn't the only instance of something like this happening either, but going into it would apparently constitute a breach of forum rules by discussing another forum in a negative light.

That's where I think there's a bit of a loophole though that needs looking at. I could understand if it was say "seibertron did this" or "pop culture network ......" (and to clarify those are just examples, not me trying to infer anything about either forum). In that case, dragging in issues from those forums serves no purpose other than to potentially start a board war which ultimately helps noone.
However Mattycollector.com is different, and this is where I feel some common sense needs to be applied with that rule. The forum largely exists as a vehicle for Mattycollector.com to interact directly with fans. Again, if it was something relating to say the "vintage MOTU" thread where a discussion got heated, I could understand it being off limits here as in that case it's the same thing as those previous examples.
However that's not where the problem lies - it lies with the customer service aspects of the forum. We now have complaints being hidden, with threads where people saying they're done with the line are being given vague renames and moved to less conspicuous places (which honestly looks more like a mod carrying out marching orders by DR than a mere independent mod decision) and questions which are too inconvenient being moved into the "valley of the lost" of the feedback section.
As such, it goes beyond mere mod decisions on a private forum to Digital River's approach to customer service. Surely in this case, common sense should be applied and anything relating to customer service on those forums should be the exception rather than the rule.
I don't disagree with your argument. You might want to start a thread in the Site Suggestions area or PM JVS3 and give him your suggestion.![]()

Same thing happened to my question, this is totally to bury it the no one cares, can only see if logged in section. He's a history, all asked since beginning of April.
1. asked about subs shipping together.
TG "only after renewal"
2. cut/pasted 5 times from matty's news section saying as always any amount of subs ordered together ship together
TG "this forum is only for product questions"
3. someone else asked about subs shipping together
TG "only after renewal"
4. asked again with cut/pastes, but added seems you can answer about shipping again as you just did
TG "contact CS"
5. asked again with cut/paste and response from matty CS that they can't help me (emailed)
moved to this other forum.
If that isn't trying to get rid of the question I don't know what is? Seems if you just live with the contact CS, can't comment here, use search etc brush off answers, it's the right forum. But trying to actually get help and it's moved to the special 'more help' section.

ok, so now we know why Stinkor's blue accessories were not painted. But the answer sounds like a crock if you ask me. Does it really cost that much extra to add some highlights to the accessories?

Buy paints, brushes, gloss. Then Stinkor's accessories will be BETTER than had they been assembly-hand-painted in China.

Well I just had a question deleted from the mattyforums, and not moved to the other section.
TG recently answered someones question about cancelling a sub, stating that they made it clear when ordering that they can't be cancelled. I asked "yes you made no cancel clear, but also made it clear that any quantity of subs will be shipped together. Why do you up hold one and not the other? (I also haven't heard from the supposed glitch that affected this round of renewals, frankly still waiting on the February fix as well)"
Question is gone.
