    To play devil's advocate here...

    What response COULD he have given? Is there ANY way to 'answer that question' that would have made people happy?

    He could have said He'd look into it... he could have said, they have a new better CS on the way... but REALLY... He's said that all before and the question specifically asked for him to NOT use a 'stock response'

    The question was 'how do you justify this'... the response was "I don't."

    It's pretty stupid to believe that he LIKES these kinds of problems, and I imagine that he's going on the warpath to track down problems.... but Everytime he SAYS he's trying to track down a problem, it's a stock answer.

    That question was painting him into a corner, and I take the "I don't.' answer as an acknowledgement of a problem... that the service was unjustifable, and he knows it.
    I think he is actually better off not responding to any questions. This way nothing is said that would annoy fans. You can't really get mad if he doesn't say anything. Especially if you know (or believe) that what is being said has 10% truth to it.

    Simple, what any normal customer service person would have said: "Please accept my apologies for the problems you've been having. I will personally look into this for you and get back to you in 48 hours with a more detailed answer. Please bear with me in the meantime."

    Not that hard. May not have made anyone happy, but it would have placated the man a little, knowing that he might have some kind of answer in time.

    Snarky comments are easier though aren't they?

    Tried, attempting, tried, somehow, attempt are the words you used..so it does not sound like this is working for you. I will look for your poll and see what you have to say there. I just dont understand why you have to make this a bad place to visit? I can understand Matty.com, but here? I guess I will take up the banner as the rep for all fans who are happy, or content with the situation and try to stay positive.

    OK, I found your Poll, no pun intended, and I read through all the posts. I did not sign up, because I enjoy the line more than I despise it. As the poster on the poll thread pointed out, the only result that I can see it that they will cancel the line. I am not scared, but I just dont feel that is the appropriate way to address the situation. I have no ideas that I think would work any better than your proposed plan, but I just dont feel that the bombardment of complaints would work. TG has said in the past that we are a very small, vocal group of 200, so having 200-250 calls come in still seems like small beans to me. Trust me when I say that I would love to be confident that the figures I receive will be problem free, I just dont know if there is anything we can do to affect change. I dont feel your plan would work, but I applaud you for trying. I know you probably do not want my advice, but here it is anyways, when you are trying to get people to join your cause, dont insult them and you may have a better chance. There was some pleasant conversation going when you started calling people out as being scared or door mats, which is not productive to your cause. I will keep my eyes open for other possible solutions to our problems.

    Thank you for your input, but clearly you are part of the minority that easily gets offended and misinterprets what I say as insults and criticism. Funny how I don't recall calling anyone a doormat, but that may be the result of seeing only what you want to see, just as you see my efforts as futile. Bottom line is you, like many others are quick to attack the infamous Mekaneckpain because he always posts negative statements on the boards. I'll tell you what I've told others --- this isn't the Brady Bunch, sssywhiped, version of the world you think it is. If you want Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy, there are plenty of spiritual websites where you can find other threads laced with that mentality. And I'll say it agian... Got a problem with Mekaneckpain, Ignore him. Or you can report him.

    Don't answer the question then. He took the time to read the whole post (if he could find the question) and his only response was that. Just ignore the question like he does so many others on the forums.

    Then there should also be the Super Duper Subscription, where you are not only guaranteed to get the figure, but if it arrives defective, you are guaranteed a replacement.

    I've seen and heard the 150-200 vocal minority getting overused here and on RGD, Scott was not talking about the whole He-Man.org community when he made that statement, it was made in the context of the number of posters on He-man.org wanting/clamoring for an Illumina MOTUC figure. Ok now that I've said that.

    Seemingly everyone has horrible service from Matty/DR and as it's been horrible why would you continue to do business with a company that keeps treating you poorly? I must be confused because when I get poor service, poor quality, or poor products I don't keep going back after it continues and continues???

    That's my point... Even Silence isn't a solution. Check out all the other threads that haven't been answered. They're calling for blood.

    It's easy to say 'He shouldn't answer questions then....' But that doesn't make anything BETTER either...

    it's Lose/Lose here.

    At LEAST this way, we know the question was read... and Acknowledged.

    not a GREAT acknowledement... and nothing to soothe the posters feelings... but he IS awared of the problem, and we the readers KNOW he is aware of this problem.

    I'd have to say it's better to say nothing than to be glib about the question/answer. I'm more than sure he could have picked other questions to answer...

    Glib = insincere and shallow...

    As for Meckaneckpain...personally, I feel, if someone cares about something they show passion for it one way or the other. He has proven himself to be a passionate fan (whether you agree with his direction or not). He has tried to provide a solution to DR issues and has not recived the support needed to make a difference. Instead fear of loosing the line has over ruled the possible solution to the problem.

    We will continue to recive poor customer service and QC issues simply because the figures sell and fans say/do nothing about it in the appropriate forum (he-man.org) is NOT the appropriate forum. Matty Forums are NOT the appropriate forum. DR is NOT the appropriate forum (though they should be, hence the real issue). Mattel customer support is the only forum that has the power to do anything about poor customer relations as IT IS a Mattle branded line!

    TG...at best is a talking puppet for Mattel. He does NOT have the authority to make significant changes (hence why we always hear "upper management"). Rather than as a community addressing these issues with "upper management" we jump on .org and lambaste an indivual with no authority (other than his self precived authority). If someone brought me a prototype of a figure and I said let me show this to "upper management"...it would make me a middle man not a brand manager...that being said 4H for brand managers

    I will say this again: If you always do what you always did...youll always get what you always got". i.e. TG will continue to tell it's He-Consumers "changes are coming" people will continue to recive QC issued figures (if at all now) and the line will continue until fans, in mass, get sick of the issues.

    The line wont die because people demand change. The line will die due to lack of change!

    Everyone here knows that TG is always on here --- he may not always post but he sees what's going on and he knows what our concerns are. As long as we keep posting on here, TG or someone at Mattel will see it. So, with that said, I see no need for his responce to any issues, especially since they are snide and useless responces anyway. The Q&A thing is a total joke IMHO. But ultimately, People will be upset if he does reply or if he doesn't --- can't please everyone.

    I get the sarcasm, I LOVE the sarcasm, but honestly this should already be part of the regular sub. I can put anything in a box labeled something (fisto for example) but if I put in say, 25 forks, it's not getting a something. I remember saying sub holders being Guaranteed a something. not 25 forks. Again, don't have one, don't want to get one. This is part of the reason. A LARGE part of the reason. And strangely, using a higher list character like shadow weaver instead of, say... demo man. It's irritating. Wund-ar was a PERFECT choice, and one I'll willingly hunt down, but that's the class of character it was supposed to be. I don't like feeling forced into something. I've bought stuff off matty just fine, but I get the complaints, and I gotta say... it's tough to disagree with some of the complaints. Just sayin.

    At this point, I think you're right. It is lose/lose for TG. The only way to win is to actually deliver on fixes to these many problems. The time where words could make a difference are long gone. It's action or nothing from here on out.
