Finally completed the entire original collection!!!! (loose)

Minus the giants and the laser He Man and Skeletor. Every single figure, weapon, accessory, playset of the American run including Savage He Man. I dont even want to begin to estimate how much I spent over the last 2 years!! It was quite the labor of love. Only thing I am missing is the pack of ammo for Thunderpunch, and I'm pretty sure I'll never run across that so I shall consider myself as having closure on the greatest toy line ever!!

I kind of have a sense off loss now. The thrill of the hunt is over. What now?? I dont have any of the classics yet, and I feel I am so far behind at this point that I'll just drive myself crazy all over again trying to get every single thing, not to mention the money involved. But I'm sure I'll slowly delve into them just to keep He Man collecting in my life even if in a long drawn out degree.

Thanks for listening to me boast about my conquest. Just had to share!!

Congratulations! That's very cool! I'm close to being in the same boat myself. I just need a weapons pack, Comet Cat and the cardboard controls for Point Dread. I think I've been purposefully holding off on getting those so I still have something to chase! I'm curious, do you have Scubattack? I'm not sure if that's considered part of the U.S. line or not. It's the only power Tools I need, but they are so expensive. Are you going to try for the Laser versions or the giants? It's a question I've been asking myself a lot lately...

That's very impressive - I have two sets of the same, bar Wonder Bread He-Man, though a number of variants. (I think the second set is missing one of Blades swords though, so maybe I'm boasting a bit on that one!! ) It's a good feeling though isn't it, the complete set of the best 1980s toyline, all the ones you had a child, and all those you heard of but never saw first time around.

Yeah, I have Scuba Attack, Cliff Climber, and Tower tools all sealed in the box. They are the spanish versions though. I paid roughly $150 a piece for them. The ones with all english writing on them go for much more. But as far as I know, they were offered as part of the U.S. line.

The costs for the giants and lasers is too outrageous. I cant justify spending that kind of money on those. Completing Eternia was enough of a money pit. Unless I hit the lottery (which I dont play anyways) I'm not even bothering with the Euro line, but of course I would love to have them!! Im satisfied with what I accomplished. Mission complete!!!

That is fine, fine work! I'm pretty close, but I don't really think I'll ever get the giants or the Lasers. Not really fussed about them, to be honest.

Yeah, I completely understand. Hard to justify that much money for a toy, no matter how awesome it is. i wonder what the odds of finding one at a swap meet are...

    Wow! Congratulations!
I totally understand that you have a sense of loss right now... I don't know what I'd do if I had everything.
If you're not planning on getting the giants or the laser figures, you could always be on the lookout for nicer figures to upgrade your current collection.
Also, I for one think it would be really cool if you took a picture of your entire collection.

Congrats! I have all of them, even the Laser figures and the giants, but I don't have the Thunder Punch ammo. It's the ONLY thing I'm missing and I've never seen one turn up on Ebay, ever. I've pretty much resigned myself to never finding it.

I had the best luck securing the Power Tools toys from international Ebay sites. I got a boxed Scubattack from German ebay, shipped, for about $50.

I wouldn't despair trying to find the giants and the Laser figures. When you're meant to find them, they will come. My wife was looking at Italian ebay for Barbie dolls one day and called me over. Someone had mislabled a loose Tytus as a Ken Doll and I ended up getting it for a real steal. Similar situations happened with the Laser figs and Megator. Just treat the toy gods fair (keep your collection out in the open and not buried in a tupperware container in the closet; let neighborhood kids yank them off your shelf and abuse them, etc) and the Toy Gods will smile down upon you.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. When you start looking at the prices those things go for, it's hard not despair. But you're right, maybe one day it will happen. Until then, I have lots to enjoy!

I guess you have to be really hardcore to complete the collection. I'm not really interested in doing so, just because there are so many other great toys from that era. I would much rather have a colonial viper or the blackstar warlock dragon than a hoarde trooper

Having said that, I now have every figure I had I was a kid. I have just about everybody from waves 1-4 and a few guys from later waves. I also have the castle and the mountain. In addition, I have obtained many vehicles. I had very few vehicles when I was a kid. So my collection is better now than it was then.

Congrats! I would suggest going after the giants and laser figures. I know they are expensive but I'm telling you it is awesome when you have them in your hands and part of the collection. The only other figure I would suggest would be Camo Kahn, the best outside U.S. figure there is.

I was able to find one MOC Thunder Punch caps pack about 5 years ago and I got it cheap, haven't seen it since. The U.S. mech packs were available on ebay for a short time in 02/03 through the old Mattel Vault store. I think I got then for like $25.00 each. I wish Mattel would bring tht store back, they had some really great stuff on there.

Congrats on completing your set. I have all of the figures MOC including the Laser figures and Giants and now I have hit the wall so to speak and lost my desire because the hunt is gone. I am selling my entire collection and retiring from MOTU but it was fun while it lasted though.

I was luck enough to pick up 2 MOC Thunder Punch Ammo caps the last couple years. One on EBay REALLY cheap and the other from another member here and the packages are different slightly. They are opposite each other like a matched set (I have pics in my profile albums) and intend to sell them as a set too. It was almost impossible for me to find 1 much less 2 so I was excited when I got both.
