Nice Review, Dan! One question though: Is TP He-Man lighter skinned than Prince Adam?

I wonder if any one is going to buy another NORMAL He-Man and try to swap out the armor and boots, so they can have a matched up look?

Great review Dan, but even as great as your review is I still am not feeling this figure, no matter how much I wish I did. It might all be due to the fact that I didn't have TP He-Man as a kid.

I love the vac metal shield and chest armor that along with blast effect are the best part of the figure. I hope we get some blast effects to add to other figures.

I'd love to know what if anything was the reason behind the paler skin tone, maybe Scott or Eric will stop in and share with us.

This figure looks really cool. The armor harness does look a bit bulky on him but it's still okay, at least it looks okay in the video. Maybe it is the nostalgia factoring in but this figure has a certain appeal to me & with that cool "Thunder Punch" energy clip-on & a few of the poses shown, I REALLY can't wait to add Thunder Punch He-Man to my collection.

If you have the time, would you mind posting a picture of TP He-Man with the yellow Power Sword that came with the Skeletor/Lex Luthor 2-Pack?

    Great review P.D., thanks!

So his harness opens like Snout Spouts. Awesome. Love the bulky armor. Can't wait for him to punch Draego Man in the face!

I really like the look of this figure. I think it is so much nicer than the vintage version!
I'm hoping for a Disco Skeletor for the next subscription exclusive! Fully flocked!

    Great review!

I always HATED the vintage thunder punch He-man... Mostly because he wasn't in the cartoon, and I couldn't find a 'regular' he-man to replace the one i had worn out... soooo Battle Armor and Thunder punch were 'placeholders' and I always resented them.

TP also had that 3/4 pose that he was ALWAYS stuck in... Annoyed me greatly.

NOW that I see THIS version though... standing tall and proud, and looking pretty awesome, i'm debating picking him up

REALLY depends on if I can snag an orko or not... Still need a prince Adam... and I really want a Draego man... soooo we'll have to see!

Still, Can't believe I ever would consider picking up this guy again

PD, I think the lighter skin is tied in with his bio. It mentions that he and the other heroic warriors were hiding in the underground. So I guess he hasn't been tanning in the Eternian sun as much as he likes

Also I'm pretty sure there were two versions of Thunder Punch He-Man's powersword in the vintage line. A clear one like the one that the MOTUC version has an an opaque version. Maybe that's where your confusion comes from

    Clear

    Opaque

    awesome review! ...

love this figure ... even more so than the classics version of BA he-man ... even though the action-features aren't present on either BA and TP he-man in MOTUC, i think the TP design works better, despite being able to swap the chest-plates out on BA ...

the translucent sword ROCKS and the fist-clip is a great touch, and works!! ...

Great review, Dan! Love it. Absolutely love love love this variant. Totally worthy! I didn't have him as a kid, but now I wish I did. Makes me want to pick up the vintage TP He-Man.

That sword looks almost like the same color as Skeletor's sword from the DC TRU 2-pack.

Love the orb effect with this figure, and can't wait to display him punching Skeletor. Awesome!

He's a cool variant, but he looks a bit too pale for being He-Man! However, I like the chunkiness of his backpack and the added accessories...

Thanks again Dan for a wonderful review...

Meant to ask this over at Youtube - didn't notice if it was shown but can he hold the cap-ring in his hand?

I've been so excited for TP He-Man. Now it's even more exciting. That's how every variant should be done. Give us enough new stuff to make it feel like a completely new figure! Awesome. Thanks Dan!

I have to admit, I really like the fact that he's a lighter color. It always kinda bothered me that just because you turn into he-man you get a summer baked tan all year round.. seriously? The lack of tan goes perfectly with the bio, stuck in a cave (much like me pecking away at the computer all winter) = white!

Shame about the skin-tone. To me He-Man has always had a tan. It's part of the "magic disguise" and personally I've liked it. No squatting in cave will take that away. LOL.

Awesome video Dan. Glad you were able to make these videos with great speed before the monday-sales.

Thunder Punch He-Man looks awesome and it's very exciting to see the mini-comic inside the package as well.

THUNDER PUNCH....... THUNDER PUNCH....... THUNDER PUNCH HE-MAN IS READY TO JOIN MY MOTUC COLLECTION !!!

Too bad he hasn’t got his vintage "all orange" belt deco. But I am totally down for this variant ! And, Loved Your Review As Always Danny Boy !!!

BTW, (IF Possible) can you give us a snap of him with regular He-Man Harness ? I would love to see him that way !!

Thanks & Keep Your AWESOME Work Rocking !!!

Oh man, I'm so excited about this guy! I didn't have him as a kid, so it's not really nostalgia driven. I did play with him at my friend's house, but even then I just think this figure looks amazing on its own terms. The red and silver scheme looks great. It's a nice use of the vac metal. I actually really like the chunkiness of the armor. I guess in comparison to the vintage figure it looks different, but I think the proportions look good on him. All the extras like the backpack and the thunder punch fist are great additions.

As for the backpack... I do have to say I worry a tiny bit about the way it attaches. I had a lot of problems getting Snout Spouts backpack on. Maybe it's just me, though! I've not heard a lot of complaints about it. I just find it hard to get all the pegs aligned and pushed in fully.

The skin tone doesn't bother me at all. In this timeline he's been underground for quite some time. Makes sense that he'd get at least a little pale. The accessories are awesome! The attachment for his fist is great! I'm really looking forward to this figure AND the mini comic!

Great review Dan. I've never been a fan a variants and this figure is not gunna change my mind, but I do appreciate the effort that has been put into this figure especially with the backpack/cap and replicating the vintage action feature.

I wonder if Eamon will take credit for the blast effect?
