Nice review PD.

Pumped for TP-HM, had the vintage figure as a kid so looking forward to the Classics figure! The lighter skin tone doesn't worry me at all. He's a 'variant' after all so no big deal. Oh, and the comic too!

I REALLY hope we see DB Skeletor released this year too, to even things up...

I don't see the big deal in altering his skin tone. Wun-Dar is darker, who is essentially a really tanned He-Man with a different bio. It makes him look like a brand new figure rather than another repaint.

As far as the whole skin tone debate, I think they went with a lighter skin tone to bring out all the red in his color scheme. It was more of an aesthetic choice. You can say it's because of the story line but.... ehh. I'll go with my theory.

Also to differentiate him from the other He-Man variants... Like Keldor's skin color is more saturated than Skeletor.

Another great-looking figure! I like the way this He-Man looks moreso than any of the previous ones released in MOTUC... and TP He-Man was never that much of a favorite of mine when I was a kid! Here's hoping for more "energy-burst" type of attachments (but maybe in slightly less-translucent very pale colors?) coming down the pipe... Bring on Flying Fists!

Snake MAA has the second mini-comic He's coming in June.

So his harness opens like Snout Spouts. Awesome. Love the bulky armor. Can't wait for him to punch Draego Man in the face!

I also love the bulky armor. I think it looks great!

TP also had that 3/4 pose that he was ALWAYS stuck in... Annoyed me greatly.

I HATED that the vintage one couldn't really stand in a neutral position. He couldn't hold his sword and shield at the same time either. This one fixes all of that!!

Shame about the skin-tone. To me He-Man has always had a tan. It's part of the "magic disguise" and personally I've liked it. No squatting in cave will take that away. LOL.

I know what you mean, but I actually like the skin tone, especially with the red armor.. and if it IS, in fact, intentional, to show part of the story, then it's a cool choice.

This figure is great for a varient.
But I certainly don't believe He-Man would lose his tan being underground, Its a magic tan that comes from becoming He-Man. Never noticed He-Man having tan lines under his harness, so losing his tan? Nope! Only if thats actually Adam in disguise but seeing as the TP power is a enhanced power beyond what he already had than that can't be the case.. Unless the power is so strong that it actually is to much for He-Man to take for long periods and it is actually slowly killing him giving him a sickly pale tone..... PFFFT!! LOL!! I would personaly prefer H-M tan, but whatever,

the belt is actually what bugs me. I wish it was orange.. Beyond those small critisizms I am looking forward to TP He-Man

He-Man lost his tan because he has been hiding underground for a while. Either that or Skeletor has taken control of the palace tanning salon. Don't worry, He-Man's tan will rise again!

I like this figure a lot. The next variant has got to be Dragon Blaster Skeletor. Year of the dragon!

I really like this figure and I really like the lack of tan, it makes this He-Man variant stand out a bit compared with the other He-Man figures we have got so far.

I really like the paler skin tone. Brings a bit of variation in the different He-Man figures. I also wish he came with the more yellow hair from the prototype. I think I'll put the motu vs dc He-man's head on him.

Also I'm pretty sure there were two versions of Thunder Punch He-Man's powersword in the vintage line. A clear one like the one that the MOTUC version has an an opaque version. Maybe that's where your confusion comes from

Actually, the opaque sword looks like the ones that came with the Battle for Eternia board game.

And the red belt wasn't on the vintage figure, but it is on the classic 1985 poster by William George, which is one of my all-time favorite pieces of MotU artwork.

I'm not sure. I guess I'll need to find somehwre you can actually buy those. Do they even still make them? Haven't seen them in ages.

I was just at Walmart last night and saw sets of red caps in the tiny little toy gun section at the end of the action figure isle.

My Wal-Mart has them too.

The ankles aren't as tight as Vikor's were, for sure. But I also use a padded-top table. Anything I try to stand on it needs some extra adjusting of the legs...and usually still falls over.

Cool. Thanks for the explanation about your table. BTW, I just want to be clear that I wasn’t trying to call you a liar. I was just inferring that the ankles didn’t appear Vikor/Fisto tight. Looking back at my post after having woken up and gotten some coffee, I don’t like the way I worded my post.

I do wish they were Vikor/Fisto tight. I was planning on picking up an extra TP He-Man to use a set of boots to slap on Prince Adam so he could actually stand up. Now I’m not sure if I want to pick another one up.

Riddle me this: He-Man's tan doesn't come from the sun, becuase he's pale as Adam and tan as He-Man. So it's like a magic tan. So how can hiding out in a cave make you lose your magic tan?

since its pretty obvious that the sword and 'Punch' Shared a tool, They -Mattel- may have decided on a paler /clearer yellow plastic to avoid the punch effect being to 'Solid'. If so then I really appreciate that care.

I love this variant. I never had him as a child but I played with him before at a friends place and always found him fat. lol. I'm glad he looks bulky with the armor but its not right on his buck which is nice. I'm not bothered by the skin tone... overall i'm pumped to get this guy!!!
