Thank you, Riddle, someone else not taken in by Ruffalo. He really was bland. Someone mentioned that Norton's Banner was angry and bitter, and of course he was, he's been chased halfway across the world and kept on the run, poor guy couldn't even get it on with Betty without the possibility of triggering a change. This is where the end of Incredible Hulk leads you believe that Banner has finally gained control, and he could have advanced from the angry bitterness. Freed from those feelings, Ed could have expanded greatly on Banner's character.

Hell, if anything, they should have explained Banner got himself some plastic surgery to look so different. LOL

I never liked the whole "heart rate" being connected to hulk in the incredible hulk movie. i thought it was not thought through very well at all. i mean, your heart races when you are scared, panicked, and several other emotions (the sex one in the movie) so for that i thought they took away the very essence of hulk. he turns that way when he is angry.

After seeing the movie two times yesterday, I think I have wrapped my head around everything, and in my mind formed an opinion! yeah for opinions.

The biggest question mark going into the movie for me was Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. but as I mentioned before, I think he did the best job of bruce I have ever seen on screen. The problem for me, like someone else said, was Nortons Hardness, and Bana's Emo.... those both, for me played the hulk as a DIFFERENT person than Banner. Ruffalo played the "other guy" inside of him, as the same guy, and it was noticeable. they are the SAME guy, and I never got that from Norton and Bana. I completely see why Norton would not have worked, and although he was a scientist in the hulk, i couldn't even IMAGINE 10 % of the chemistry that Mark and RDJ had if Norton was in that room with Ironman.

Hulk also, the look and size was perfect for me.

Cap was epic. so classic. so cheesy. so perfect. the tone in his voice, "last time I was in germany....." priceless. it kept the lightness that he was a leader, and had heart, and though most of us in this time wouldnt take him that seriously, he is the MAN! (as shown in the scene "why should we listen to you?!?!" I think he made me feel like a kid the most because of the whole man out of time thing.. (which i think they will play up in another movie with him.

Thor. damn man, if only mattel would have scooped him up, most of you in here want a conan style he-man. but me, i'm a filmation guy, like Marzo, and his comedic timing, heart, and tone was just really really satisfying. he was strong, but not macho. his relationship with loki was very well scripted, and you could see that he cared.

Iron man, i described to my wife as this generations captain america. in the Ipad world, they needed him to do the final saving the day, and sacrificing. cause we as a culture feel most connected to him. RDJ was good, and I feel like his references were directly to older fan boys. I mean, point break reference? nice. and calling hawkeye legolas was very nice. I knew what to expect here, and they delivered. I really loved his connection to banner, and feel that it was completely natural and made sense.

The storyline was just ok for me. I didnt hate it, but I felt no reason to actually use the whole army/thanos soon type of storyline. i felt like it wasnt necessarily needed. and lacked explanation for the common viewer. it felt too star trek to me. random bad guy in a hood, giving guy we know power.... blah blah... Loki saved it though. that actor was very very well played, and the controlled evil was well done. I understand they wanted a random evil to have a great battle with, but like someone above said, might as well had frost giants. I mean, i am a comic fan, but its been a while, and I got home wanting to look up references to all of the stuff I didnt know that much about.

final battle. best action scene in movie to date for me. the whole ride, from start to finish. I loved it. each got a couple scenes, working together, having fun, and ultimately the fans getting a fun movie.

that didnt take itself too seriously.

when cap told hulk to smash, the movie reached perfection.

Nice try, but I think people disagreeing with you have laid out their opinion enough that you can't just dismiss it as people going "Ooh, look new and shiny" when it comes to Ruaffalo. You disagree, and that's fine. I can see your point about Norton, and I think he's a great actor. But I don't think even the way he expressed that sense of bitterness was really right for the character Banner from the comics. It was a good interpretation and interesting to watch, just not the best one in my opinion. However trying to diminish the alternate perspective into something so easily dismissed (by saying people are just taken with the "newness" of it) really just weakens your position rather than strengthens it.

I'm not a big comic guy!!! but i have to say... i went to see this movie with the wife on Sunday.. and man!!!! and mind you. my wife hates this stuff we came out wanting to watch it again.. an incredible movie.. and so well done..

for me and i've been hearing from the paper and internet that the actor who plays the Hulk is getting razed on for whatever reason.. can't figure out what the issue was.. for me he was the silent killer.. he stole the show... Iron man was great!! but the Hulk was perfect.. and Ruffalo was great!!!! so raze on me if you wish.. but again my comic wisdom is little to none.. so from an outsider looking in.. i was impressed to say the least with the whole production!!! and i noticed Thanos --- is that how you spell it yep unless it's MOTU i'm a noob.. part 2 is gonna be nuts!!

My wife and I saw this on Saturday and both loved it. It might be my favorite comic book movie. I was an X-Men fan growing up and I have to say that it would be nice if we could get an X-Men movie that is this well done.

As a Firefly fan, I have to hope that this movie raises Joss Weadon's presence in the pop culture conscious enough that he will be able to do anything he wants going forward. Five years from now, it would be fun for him to revisit the Firefly universe. It's now been long enough that you couldn't just bring back the Serenity crew and have them go on with their business as if nothing happened. But it would be cool to get back to some day. Hopefully the Avengers gives Weadon the freedom to be able to do so.

Yup you hit the nail on the head, the other two always played it as if Hulk was a separate beast they could not control and were angry or confused they had to deal with. Ruffalo played it as if he had come to an understanding that he and the beast were the same entity and there was no way around it. He embraced it. Whether that is excellent writing, great acting, whatever it still worked really well. He was not in complete control, but when he was we saw how he could harness that power.

Its a character choice and Norton was a fantastic Bruce Banner but I think overall the total package so far lies with Ruffalo. Especially in his chemistry with RDJ

I am one of those that think Mark Ruffalo was an INCREDIBLE Hulk (pun intended). He was BY FAR the best Hulk I have ever seen hands down. But that is my opinion

Sorry if this has been answered already but what happen to the Spear Loki was using? Did it go back with Thor as well? Did it get sucked up to space?

I don't think that was really shown. I suppose it could have been destroyed when they closed the gate. But we really don't know. I don't think anyone had it in their hands when they corner Loki at the end.

The last I remember, Widow had it pointing at Loki at the end in the group shot. After that, I don't remember...

Ohhh... see, I remember her having a weapon but I thought it was one of the generic alien weapons she had been using earlier. But I suppose it makes sense it might have been his staff. Something to look out for in viewing #3 whenever that happens.

Uh oh, grumpiness from Bollywood. I don't remember a stink being made for the scenes portrayed in The Incredible Hulk with Banner hiding in the favelas of Rocinha.

Huh? Wasn't the point of Banner living among the poor that he was in hiding? If he was living it up with the "rich culture" of India, he'd be kind of conspicuous, I would think.

And what happens when they find out Ben Kingsley, man who is half Indian and even played Ghandi, might be playing the evil Mandarin is half Indian and the same man who played Ghandi?

RE the staff, I assumed Thor took it because he took the Tesseract which was also powering the staff. I still think it has a One Ring mojo to it and that it will cause more trouble as it seemed to when the team started squabbling.

Ok Good, thanks for the help! So we are not sure what happen to it after the movie ends. I know the secret bad guy after the credits uses some kind of power jems and if I remember my history the blue one had mind control properities. I wonder if in Thor 2 we will see him going after his glove that was in Odin treasure room?

Ruffalo did a great job and was more believable between the two he not coming back so deal with it....

Man, if that guy said that from 2 Avengers' scenes, what would he had said from "Slumdog Millionare"?

I forgot about that (I was probably still shocked by previous scenes )... so... we have to wait for next Thor & Cap to see if Red Skull re-emerges from it

I was posting an article on the movie from the front page of MSN.com. It had NOTHING to do with Banner. I was pointing out the slum reference between the two movies. Get off your high horse.

I think Norton was a very good Banner, as well as an all-round good actor. But he wanted too much control over the story and character, so it’s understandable why Marvel didn't want him back, as they had their own plans.

I thought Ruffalo did a marvellous job, though. Really, Hulk and Banner were two of the best things about this film. After three attempts I felt like they finally got Hulk and Banner right. Playing up the heroic potential of the character was a good move, IMO. I think the masses are now ready for another standalone Hulk film. At least I am. Now that Banner can seemingly control the Hulk, it could make for a much more fun and less seriously bleak film, which arguably the last two attempts were.

OH MAN. Been a long time since I've seen a movie that I wana go see again right away. That was fantastic; all of it. My wife enjoyed it just as much as I did and wants to go see it again as well. Just amazing. I can't believe they shoved all that into one movie and it didn't feel rushed. All the characters got thier dues and everyone played off each other spectacularly. Friggin' amazing.

Oh give me a break. This coming from the guy who says the only reason we disagree with you is because we are too distracted by the "newness" of the new actor. That's you failing to believe others have a different opinion then Optimus Prime. High horse? Yeah...

It had NOTHING to do with Banner

    We all know it did.
