I can see why you or anyone else might dislike it but I'm fine with it. I think for a live action version he looks pretty badass. Ill take it over the Green Goblin suit from the film.

First of all I did like this movie quite a bit, but it wasn't as AMAZING as I thought it was going to be given all the buzz. I really was hoping for more substance. Visually it was great. But I almost felt there were too MANY jokes and it started to feel a little cheesy which is something Marvel had found a good balance of with their previous films.

I went to see this again last night in 3D and again enjoyed it. I've now seen two movies in 3D and I think that's enough for me personally. The 3D-glasses do not feel comfortable on top of my own glasses and concentrating on 3D effects takes too much brain capacity from me. Also, most of the 3D effects look two-layered in my eyes, which while nice doesn't add much to the experience. As for the movie. I think I enjoyed Captain America more on the second view and it was fun to focus on some of the moments a bit more. As of now my favorite part of the movie is the first hulk-out.

I'm still as pleased with how this movie turned out and I don't know if it could've been any better. But I am curious to see how it fares with time. At the time it feels a bit like Raimi's Spider-man movies. I was a huge fan of the first two when they came out and at the time in my eyes they began a new era of superhero-movies. But I also feel that they haven't aged that well and could see the same happening to Avengers. I'm hoping that Avengers will do the same and pave road for more movies that have tie-in movies that build up to the upcoming bigger event (like IM,IM2, Thor, Cap and I.Hulk lead to the Avengers). I think what Marvel achieved is spectacular and I hope it raises the bar for what we'll come to expect to see in the future.

I went to a comic-con here in toronto and LG game me clip on 3d lenses to put over my glasses, they are AWESOME - but I also love 3d.

I just watched it last night and I thought it was fantastic. Very well done. This one I'm definitely buying in BluRay once it is released.

Sorry for the lateness about Bruce Banner discussion! I think Mr Mark Ruffalo personality is the nearest from what I've seen on Comic! After recap on certain comic snippet, He's the nearest one who could get that.

Joss Whedon: In our first meeting Kevin Feige said, this [killing Agent Coulson] is what we're gonna do and I said, "Oh but you have to go out there and tell everybody that it was your idea because this is going to get me so much ****. Because they are all going to be like, "Oh he did it again!" It was stipulated from the beginning, and I completely agree that it was the right thing to do, and so did Clark. Who said in the early days, when I was busy apologizing for it, "In a movie like this, with what's going on if there isn't some toll, it's just irresponsible story telling."

So I just saw the Marvel's multi-million dollar May movie, and it wasn't too bad. Bringing so many superheroes together in a movie and not having it reek is no easy task. So on that, I commend the writers and everyone involved in that creative process.

While I could have done without some of the humorous Joss Whedon fanboy moments, they were so sparse and brief, and did not leave a sour taste in my mouth, or have my stomach churning as I tried to sit through the rest of the film (like Bayformers 1 Bayformers 2, and Bayformers 3: Stink Of Michael Bay's Moon). The side characters (while bland) seemed to have purpose, and each of the actors played well off one another.

I would recommend this movie to any nerd, gamer or visual effects junkie, but outside of comic fans, and 10-25 year old males, it didn't hold much. It was as stimluating as it was surprising that Joss chose to show pleasing angles of Chris Evans as much as he did Scarlett, but I guess with Chris and Chris, there is enough man candy for the boys and the girls. Did I mention that Chris Evans is a beautiful man? The superhero genre has been good to him, and vice versa. I love this man.

After 2 Iron Man movies (and those horrid Sherlock Holmes films) I have not warmed up to Robert Downey, not in the least. To have Iron Man recast, or to simply have less of him would have been fine, but I guess if you're a fan of the man in metal, he serves his purpose. I doubt sincerely that many Iron Man fans have a beef with RDJ's performance. I guess I'm just not a huge Avengers fan, or rather, I know I'm not. CGI Hulk looked good, and the dude playing Hawkeye worked.

The movie did leave me wanting a giant golden horned helm, and a human vaporizing, mind controlling, time shifting super stabby disco stick. Lady Gaga, I would destroy you, usurp your bedazzled throne, enslave all your little monsters, and your hot ripped back up dancers with that stick... and Chris Evans... and Chris Hemsworth... Muh ha ha ha haaa...

Overall I give this movie 5 out of 10. Big, loud fun, lots of eye candy, but only good for a once around. If I was an Avengers fan, I could give it a 7/10

critics who rate a movie on eye candy, guy or gal, are not very good critics in my honest opinion. maybe its point in life, or thought process, but being attracted to anyone has no bearing what so ever on how good a movie is..

I liked it a lot. Will see again. My one and only complaint would be that it reminded me alot of the plot of the Ultimate Avengers DVD storyline.

But I honestly still loved it. Could have been a little more Hulk at the end for my taste but still was highly pleased.

It's no coincidence that the plot was similar to the Ultimates. That was a direct adaption of the comic, which was a great way for Fury to bring the team together in a live action movie.

I didn't mind too much. It's just you kinda felt like you already knew exactly where the movie was going.

Other than Ultimate Nick Fury, Hulk fighting Thor, and aliens attacking, the two stories are completely different.

I came into this movie completely blind. I am more of a DC guy. The only marvel movie's I've seen are XMen 1, 2, and First Class, which I enjoyed alot more than the first two.

That being said, with only a little confusion on who a few characters where, it was a fun little movie. I'm REALLY glad that they allowed some humor into it and didn't go dark and depressing like Superman returns was. Hulk Smashing loki to bits was a GREAT little moment. So much for Demi God powers ;o)..

Also, did ANYONE else think Movie Skeletor when Loki transformed into his costume? Especially with the whole KNEEL bit! Thor also reminded me a little of Dolph Lungren for some reason.

WB may have mastered the DC TV side of things, but their movies are hit and miss. they could learn a thing or two from marvel if they want to EVER get a justice league movie off the ground. That would be the highest grossing movie of all time if they got bruce tim to write it, and all the appropriate hero theme songs in the mix (Burton batman, Williams superman)

Just a little box office update - looks like this movie is still smashing records!

$103m for it's second weekend! That's a record for the second weekend of a movie, beating Avatar's 75m record. That means it only dropped 50%, which is basically crazy for a movie that made so much in its opening weekend.

I've seen the movie twice now and I might even see it a third time with some friends who have yet to see it.

Did anyone else think of Serpentor from G.I. Joe when Loki was on that sky sled like thing in the big battle scene?

    Photobucket

As soon has he jumped onto it and was flying around, in my head all I saw was Serpentor.

I didn't when I saw it, but now that you mention it, it really does bring to mind Serpentor. Ha, that's awesome.

I detect a hint of snide in your post, so allow me extrapolate on why I chose to mention it. Superhero movies are as much about sex appeal as they are about superheroes. Superheros are by their nature beautiful, and possess qualities and attributes that are above that of normal individuals. Sex appeal, strength, masculinity, virility, these are all aspects of superheroes, and involved in their creation, longevity and in regard to movies, the casting process. Sex sells and it sustains superheroes.

While sex appeal has no bearing on the quality of the film (and at no point did I state of even infer that it did, you just assumed) its just there, and I like to remind people that Chris Evans is gorgeous. Would you have Steve Buscemi as Captain America? I hear he is a great actor, could probably have brought something to the film you'd enjoy.

I don't feel like anyone on this board is a more qualified movie critic than another, and anyone who thinks so needs to get off their high horse. We don't have to agree with critics regardless of their assumed level of expertise. Chris Evans is smoking hot. Chris Evans has muscles. Smoking hot, muscles, great skin, more Chris Evans please.

Oh yeah, there is also that Chris Hemsworth guy. He is nice to look at too Chris Evans for President.

    Botox!

No, not really. We made a deal. Slowed down his aging process. Did the same deal with Wolverine.

*sigh* Actually, that's not true either. He got frozen underwater in the arctic at the end of the flick and the super-soldier serum kept him healthy while he was encased in ice. S.H.I.E.L.D. found him and unfroze him in modern times.
