The Avengers Movie Talkback Thread - SPOILERS

I'm not joining in on the 'he's not dead' chorus, I'm being neutral on that in terms of opinion, but hoping he isn't because I like the character (and the actor).

I just think the dialogue in that particular scene was (if he is dead) unnecessary. if he isn't dead it was a good way of introducing doubt of his death. very minor and subtle but totally on point.

I also hated that they supposedly killed of coulson but he went out like a champ. Not saying he SHOULDN'T have died, I just didn't WANT him to.

I too wonder about the line 'the cards were in his locker' was it foreshadowing that he's alive? if not it's a line that wasn't necessary. 'they needed a push' could have been introduced any other way. so it makes me wonder.

Because it would cheapen his death. Whedon didn't want him to die, it was requested of him. The entire point of Coulson was to bring all the movies and characters together. The LMD thing was a joke Stark made. People also think Ant Man is coming because Loki and Fury kept saying ant and boot.

Great film. Great Action. Great Chemistry Among The Leads. And everyone got to shine. This is how you do an ensemble film, take notes X-Men film franchise. The X-Men films always suffered from being "Wolverine and His Back Up Band", so naturally I was afraid this would degenerate into being little more than "Iron Man & His Amazing Friends", which fortunately it didn't. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Iron Man but I don't want everyone else being short changed just so he can look good.

Joss Whedon has been announced as writer and director of Avengers 2, and if that wasn't good enough he will develop a Marvel TV series for ABC!

This just made my day.
