For instance, in the shots of him with Hawkeye in the link Wonderboy provide, I think Cap looks pretty good. You see the details on the suit and the color is a nice tone.

I think the GL pictures were promo-pics indeed. I'm hoping you're right on this, and based on the last pic it definately seems all hope is not lost.

It's the helmet. It just doesn't fit/look right. When he's wearing the helmet he looks like he's wearing a BADDD Halloween costume.

Oh my, oh my. Looking good. The city looks a bit cgi, but I'm sure it'll get better before the release. HawkEye is way hotter than I imagined, wows! And curiously Cap is was awful lot without his helmet in the trailer. Maybe he and HawkEye join the helmetless club (founding members: Thor and Loki).

Already don't like 'The Avengers' after seeing the trailer. The fact that Marvel decided to get rid of Ed Norton and use Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner is a major strike against it. Also, I don't like the new Captain America costume compared to the one he wore during WWII.

i hate "fan boy" complains when it comes to these kinds of movies. they mean nothing, and help nothing.

If it was Joss Whedon's idea to use NIN in the trailer, I take back a LOT of bad things I've said about him. Still not a fan of Buffy, but this isn't a Buffy movie. Looks really good, and that song was icing on the cake. I'd like to see who is teaming up with Loki, but this is a movie about the Avengers, not Masters of Evil or whoever it is they're fighting.

If only the dollar theatre would get their act together and put Captain America up in 3D. I'd like to finally get updated in the loop here!

Oh and back to Trent Reznor, especially for the ridicule a few others and I got in the MOTU movie soundtrack thread. Seeing how well We're in This Together meshed so well with these colorful super heroes and their adventures: does it still sound crazy to want Trent to do the score for an MOTU movie? At least it's not like Foo Fighters rounding out the credits to Thor.

So after watching this a few more times, I get the feeling that not only will Thor still be helmet-less, but Cap will be unmasked quite a bit as well.

Looks pretty cool so far. And I don't even know much about the Avengers. In the comics what villains are usually the antagonist?

Any of the individual heroes villains can be a villain (Asgardians and Red Skull probably the most frequent), also S.H.I.E.L.D. villains will come up frequently. Add in Dr. Doom and Magneto can become a problem when his children are on the team

From what I can tell, looks like Loki is the IT bad guy. So they're going to back to Asgard I guess? Too bad we can't get a real Hottie McNaughty-Pants (as my wife says) for Madame Hydra and have her go at it with Black Widow. I dunno, something doesn't set well with me when you've got only one god and a bunch of human government operatives fighting an evil god and some frost giants. No offense, but it seems a bit mismatched. I'm not expecting Doom, but it'd be cool to get some other baddies in there. I can't really say too much for some of Cap's villians because I haven't seen the movie yet. Winter Soldier and Red Skull immediately come to mind. There's Ultron. He's someone universally against the Avengers. Hank Pym would have to make an appearance there somewhere. I dunno. Most of the baddies for Avengers are D-listers at best. Maybe Leader will show up after what happened in The Incredible Hulk?

I would rather Ultron show up in an earlier movie, then go bad in a later one.

But in 616 Loki basically sets up the events that lead to the creation of the Avengers. Ultimate he is the second big bad. He also played heavily with the creation of the team in the current cartoon.

So it's more tradition than anything else.

I agree with wyldman11. I'm glad that they start out with Loki. I'm curious to see if Wrecking Crew will have a role in this movie. I'm hoping this movie gets many sequels, and that we'll get hints of things to come in this movie. I'm hoping we'll see Ultron, M.O.D.O.K (and AIM), Kang and Skrulls/Krees in the future. Though I could live without Kang, never liked him that much. Seeing M.O.D.O.K on a big screen would be a dream come true.

Awesome, I thought we were going to get a short teaser, not a 2:04 minutes trailer, so it was a nice surprise coming home after a long and tiresome day to find this

It looks great to me, I loved every one of the movies leading to the Avengers so I'm sure I'll love this film as well. It will be great to finally see all these heroes together, and I'm happy to have Loki in it too as he's been my favorite villain of these films. Can't wait!

NIN on this trailer is awesome! Plus we had Tool on the Cap trailer and AC/DC and Sabbath on both IronMan's, I think someone involved with these films is a metal fan
