Thanks Emiliano for posting this. I don't consider myself as a huge fan of the movie but I love those commentaries and documentaries. I'm all for that!
Maybe we should all attend every WB panel at Comic Con and chant He-man.![]()

Chroniklor, the Heroic Keeper of Eternian Myths, Legends and Lore.
DVD? Is it 1997? Release it on BLU-RAY!
wow! this is awesome!...
i really hope that this footage eventually sees the light of day ...
as a HUGE fan of the movie (i actually appreciate it more than the cartoon - it means more to me, and i get more out of it as an adult) i really feel like this deserves the ''special-edition'' treatment ... you see so many movies these days released on DVD with extra content and some of them aren't really worthy of it, in my opinion ...
plus - you can tell that this movie means a lot to goddard ...
this movie means a lot to me too, and it meant a lot to me when i was growing up ... my feelings towards this movie go beyond sentimental and nostalgic ...

So ridiculous! DVDs are the past.
We need a blu-ray rendition of this masterpiece!
The movie was superb. Dolph was at his peak.
Bring it on HD.

LOL @ "blood guts gore sex...do whatever you have to! Just make sure this movie is a hit!"
It's weird, the movie terrified me as a kid (Karg particularly) and I remember kind of thinking - 'why did they do it this way? Where's the He-Man music? Why isn't the sorceress a bird? etc... the movie really bummed me out because, like a lot of people I think, I was expecting to see the Filmation show except made with real people or at least the minicomics.
Watching it as an adult I love the movie more and more - it's not how I'd have chosen to see He-Man make it to the big screen but I've learned to love it for what it is.
I'd love to hear more commentary on it and see more concept art.
I think everyone involved in its production gave it their best shot kudos to them.
A fabulous new wardrobe was revealed to me the day I held aloft my sword and said...
Great making of reel! I look forward to seeing it's entirety.
MOTUC needs:Tung Lashor, Rokkon/Stonedar and bunch of Hordes!
WANTED: Minicomics !!!Swords NEEDED !!!
MY FEEDBACK
Why can't it be on Blu Ray?
Anyway, I am now a huge fan of Gary Goddard. Between watching this and the whole life-sized Enterprise thing in Las Vegas, this guy is my hero.
Here's a question, though: What's with Goddard and Bryan Singer? Are they a couple?
"Everything comes to he who waits."
Tis a shame - I love the movie and I want to know everything about it!

I'ld love to see this released as well. An ultimate He-Man Blu-ray collection - The movie as well as original, new adventures, and MYP cartoons plus bonus disks in a Castle Grayskull collectors case! (I know its a stretch but hey, if George Lucas had done He-Man you KNOW that woulda happened!!!)

..but it would open with a THX logo.
(like the one with the T-1000 effect, but with battle cat roaring through the back screen amps)
This is a really exciting clip, I long to see the "complete" version released at some point. For me, the 1987 is as key a part of the canon as say, the New Adventures.
The movie suffered, as well as budget, from so many people pulling it about trying to make it into different things, but personally, I really love the movie - even if it's not more recognised MOTU canon, I found it just as exciting that some of the later vintage line concepts, and far better than aforementioned NA. I can even just about bear GwildorIf nothing else I think it is a great "stand alone" movie and I'm often amazed at how many collectors not only despise it, but seem to not even willing to give it a go on it's own merits.
It's interesting to hear different versions of stories told over the years, though - for years I've understood that the hurridly-shot final battle between He-Man and Skeletor actually have Anthony De Longis doubling as Skeletor, whereas the version told in this clip suggests that it actually was Langella.
I gotta disagree with your point there - whilst children no doubt watched them, Conan, Robocop, Predators, etc., were for slightly older audiences, with more mature themes and often more graphic (heck, the common although oft-contradicted legend goes that MOTU was originally designed as a Conan toyline, but Mattel pulled the plug on the connection in the early stages as they deemed the movie too violent and sexual orientated for a children's tie-in toyline), whereas MOTU was a more child-orientated toyline and "the powers that be" at Mattel demanded a more youth-friendly version - which is why the movie was a compromise on so many levels.
For me personally, it's a fun and occasionally amusing "memory of the 80s". It's not perfect, but I actually think it's a great movie in it's own way.
If you mean "a new MOTU movie" as in a new big-screen movie, as opposed to a new release of the old movie, I disagree - 2012 was when the could (ahem should) have cashed in on this - the 30th Anniversary of the franchise. Although many fans love the movie, I don't think it's out there enough in the mind of the general public enough to think "hey, it's 30 years since that movie came out, we need a new one". If they had made a big thing of it for the 30th Anniversary, that would worked on so many levels!![]()

That documentary footage is great! I'd love to see more of it.
The commentary track would be super as well.

Id like to see a standard sz'd comic as a bonus , it could continue the story of the movie (Skelly rises from pit and Eternia once again in peril , Gwildor meets Orko , Lubic has a cameo etc)
.......or it could be a brand new story infleunced by the movie and drawn so well you'd think you were seeing a new movie......won't happen but it would be awesome if it did
I think if I were the director I'd prolly have a nervous breakdown , it's a miracle Goddard managed to wrap it up properly.......
