    God save the Queen

This is a Christianization of the MOTU-verse, this is not a Christian debate or discussion, so I hope that it can be left here. If you have questions or suggestions, please let me know. I plan to update and add to this as bio's are introduced. The events of this story take place partly in the upper left corner of the Eternia map, during the exile. Please do leave feedback for the story itself (not for your opinion of me or of Christianity, that's relegated to the tar swamp alone).

    4/18/12 God save the Queen

Chapter I: Back Story and Setting

As a young girl, Marlena Glenn was raised to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the only saviour of mankind. However, in her late teens and early twenties, the strong opinions and seemingly endless “evidences” presented by her teachers and peers against her faith caused her to slowly creep away from it.

Fast forward to her time as a space explorer, Marlena prepares for the inaugural voyage aboard an experimental warp ship. With her bags packed and ready to go, Marlena’s mother snuck a copy of the Book of her original faith into her luggage. This voyage ended with her remaining on Eternia to marry captain Randor, who would fast become King of Eternia. Marlena soon discovered the book that her mother had hidden among her things; and though she would have likely thrown it out under normal circumstances, being far from home on another planet left her with a strong desire to cherish all that she had brought from her home world. Queen Marlena soon gave birth to twin children. Princess Adora being kidnapped by the ruthless Hordak left only Prince Adam to remain on Eternia as heir to the throne, until a later reunion would bring them together again.

After Skeletor finally succeeded in his overthrow of the kingdom, and after the masters had been chased into exile, something curious began to stir within Eternia’s fallen Queen. After receiving a vision through a dream, in which she saw Eternia’s salvation coming from a Book, and having recognized the Book as the one that her mother had left to her, she desired it fervently, but she kept the vision to herself. Unfortunately, the Book had been lost in the siege, and she wasn’t even sure if it had survived the attacks. Meanwhile, the dreams and visions persisted.

Chapter II: The Thorn in the Spiders Paw

[This was written the day that Masters of the universe Classics brand manager Scott Neitlich released the Webstor blog entry, but this story was written just before that entry was released. It was not planned; it was just a “coincidence.”] Being led unknowingly by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness; for what reason, she did not know, Marlena was suddenly discovered by a giant arachnid of the species that Webstor’s people use as beasts of burden and for warfare. The enormous beast had her cornered and was about to sink its fangs into her, when a name that she had not spoken since her early childhood suddenly leapt into her mind. “JESUS!!!” she cried with a loud voice! The beast suddenly fell into a deep sleep. The Spirit of God was fast upon the Queen and she stooped to pray and to give God the Glory for saving her. She felt a great sadness for whom she had neglected all these years, and at the same time a tremendous joy for whom she had rediscovered. Or should it be said that she felt joy for who had rediscovered her? It was as if all the time between her childhood spent in belief, and this moment had never existed. Suddenly God was real again, and He was right by her side. And now all of the dreams and visions began to make sense.

Unbeknownst to her, Webstor had been setting booby traps in the forest just outside of Skeletor’s conquest city of Avion. He stumbled onto Marlena before she had her encounter with certain doom, so he had been discretely following her. He waited to kidnap her in order to discover what her purpose was, or to perhaps discover the location of the Master’s hiding place. Webstor, knowing the methods of the beast had intended to let the creature deliver one bight in order to temporarily paralyze the Queen, since it bights once to paralyze, in order to wrap up it’s meals without a fight, to then later inject the diluting venom for digestion. Allowing it to deliver its first bight would make it easier for Webstor to deliver her to Skeletor. After seeing the drama unfold, and watching for a moment as she prayed, he began to see what appeared to be light emanating from her. With the power of the Name that she called upon, and the strange power that seemed to be coming from her, Webstor began to tremble in fear, so he quickly and quietly swung back to Avion. Being convinced that no one would believe his story, and that Skeletor would certainly punish him for passing on a hostage with so much leverage potential, Webstor kept these things to himself, but pondered them with a great intensity.

One day, being heavy with contemplation over these events, Webstor was whipped into frenzy over the bickering among the evil warriors, which made it impossible for him to think. Needing piece and quiet he spun off through the forest to his usual alcove, high atop the Mystic Mountains. As he was contemplating the things that he saw, a sudden and seemingly unprovoked rockslide pinned him under a large pile of heavy rocks, leaving him unable to escape.

Back at the Tundaria stronghold, Marlena received a vision in a dream. She saw someone trapped under rocks in the Mystic Mountains, but she couldn’t tell who it was: she had thought it was a friend or perhaps a loved one. Being awakened she immediately assembled a team for mountain reconnaissance, but she didn’t explain why. She chose the Palace Guards with the most climbing experience, and Stratos for his ability to secure ropes for the med team to climb. Along with them went a few long-range fighters; Bow, Flipshot and a couple of rifle Guards, as well as some short-range fighters; Fisto, Mossman, Zodak, and some close combat Guards; to secure the base of the mountain where they would be climbing.

It was a long journey to the mountains, and they needed to travel at night, since they would certainly be spotted in the day light, them being so close to Skeletor’s base at Avion. Since being in isolation has it’s numbing effects on the mind and body, the team was quite eager to shove off, and so they did. Moving quietly through the night, at the edges of the forest, to avoid stumbling onto dangerous creatures, they made their way toward their destination. As was expected, they ran into a little trouble, in that a rogue Shadow Beast buffeted them. Bow proved to be an excellent choice for the journey, as he drew a knockout arrow from his quiver. Unfortunately, thanks to the darkness of night and a bit of hurriedness due to the fear of being captured, Bow drew a “fondness arrow” by mistake, and the beast became docile, but also a bit “clingy”. Luckily it wasn’t rutting season for the animal, so she wasn’t attracting male Shadow Beasts.

Finally, only an hour from daybreak they reached their destination. Upon their arrival, the team realized that they had yet to be told why they were there, or where exactly they were needed, so they asked. Marlena then realized that she didn’t know exactly where to go either, so she prayed quickly, and looking up noticed a fire in a high alcove. Pointing to it, she said, “That’s where we’re going.” Looking for themselves, the team saw nothing but night, and wondered how Marlena knew all of this. But, trusting their Queen and knowing that they needed to move quickly the fighter teams sought out a good place in the rocks where they could rest during the day, to await their nighttime return journey home, while Stratos secured the rope for the med team to access the injured person. After equipping their ascenders the med team, along with Marlena, made their way to the top of the rope.

Having finally reached their target, they were all stunned to find an enemy, and not a friend. Even Marlena was surprised at this, but she was also quite certain that this is who they were sent for, having been given the vision in a dream. As they stood there, they noticed that Webstor’s many eyes were fixed like stone upon the Queen, and they marveled as he began to quake. Finally he spoke and said, “I was there when you put the Arachnid to sleep.” She realized now why he seemed to fear her, but she was still unaware that he perceived a powerful light around her, even in this very moment. As the team began to work to free Webstor, Marlena stooped to speak with him. She asked what he was doing there and how he became trapped. He explained that he was heavy with contemplation of the events in the forest, and he described to her the light that he saw.

It was almost daylight and Webstor was finally freed from the rocks, miraculously without injury. He stood at the entrance of the alcove and turned to the Queen. He stared at her in silence for just a moment. After this he turned away from her and said, “I won’t be stuck with a debt to my enemy. What can I do for you? Ask one thing, but then I’m free.” As if a bright light had suddenly shined in her mind, the Book was illuminated. She described the book to him, and asked him to find it, and to bring it back to the alcove, since she could not give away the Masters location. Without a word he leapt out, and stopped his descent by shooting a web onto a very high tree branch. This took the ground team by surprise, as they had not even been told who was being rescued, since they were refraining from making unnecessary noise. Every fighter readied his arms, and focused them tightly on the spidearian as he hung from the tree. He glared at them squinting, and then he turned and swung away. Now it was morning, and the team rested in their secure location until nightfall, at which time they made their way back to base.

Stratos was chosen to stay behind and wait for the Book, and all of the provisions were left with him. Several days had passed, giving him time to contemplate things. ”How did she know Webstor was there? And why did she only ask for a book?” Just as the provisions were exhausted, Webstor finally made good on his debt. He entered the rock, and walked slowly nearer to his enemy, with only the slightest hint of uneasiness. Holding onto the Book, he and Stratos stared at each other, contemplating this encounter, as neither of them felt any danger while they thought on what all of this could mean. Receiving the Book, Stratos began to casually make his way to the edge of the rock to fly away. He feels like something needs to be said, but he just can’t think of the words, so he leans forward to fly off. Just then, Webstor shoots a web at Stratos’ back. Stratos, still not on guard, calmly turned his head slightly to the side. “Listen to your Queen,” said the spider. With a smirk on his face, Stratos plucks the webbing from his flight pack, and flies away.

    Chapter III: A New Story

Over the next several months, Marlena Glenn spent nearly all of her time with this Book, and the Holy Spirit was strong with her to open up the passages to her understanding. As she learned, so she taught. And many signs and wonders accompanied her as well. She healed the sick, and she cast out demons. She even spoke with languages that she had not previously known. Among what she learned from the Book was the unholy nature of the occult.

As Adam listened to his mother, he grew increasingly concerned for the sorceress, now learning that her power was from darkness, though it was unbeknownst to her. Adam brought this new knowledge to the sorceress, which knowledge was so foreign to her that she rejected it initially. But after Adam had made this known to her, she began to be plagued by dreams. Her dreams were different from those of Marlena’s however, these were of dark shadows attempting to consume her, and they plagued her every night. After she made these dreams known to Adam, he prayed for her to have her eyes opened. The very next night, Teela-Na, the sorceress, dreamed that a pure power was emanating from Marlena. This power was truly life giving, and it made all things whole, but it did not originate from Marlena Glenn.

Waking from this new dream, she called for the Queen to come to her, and to bring the source of her power. Marlena came, and she brought the Book, along with her increasing knowledge of its contents. She explained that the source from which the sorceress received her power was actually the source of darkness, and not light. She also explained that this Saviour of mankind was the Light of Life. The sorceress was faced with the difficult decision to lay down a great source of power that she perceived to be a major part of who she was. Her ultimate concern being what’s best for the kingdom of Eternia, she laid down her power, knowing that it came from darkness. Marlena prayed that Teela-Na would receive the Holy Spirit, and she did. In fact, she was given every gift of the Spirit, and in greater quantity than all others, for she had laid down great power in favor of the Truth, and she was rewarded for this. In a vision she was lead to change the color of her apparel to white, and thus she was no longer a symbol of a carnivorous falcon, but of the pure white dove of the Holy Spirit.

One of the first things that Teela-Na sought knowledge of was the true nature of Castle Greyskull, and the powers that it contained. Before she had begun to read the Book for herself, she received a word by a vision, “Golgotha.” This was a word that she did not know, though it stuck with her, and she kept this in her heart.

The Book was being printed on presses secretly, right under the evil warriors noses, and Teela-Na soon became one of the most learned scholars of this Book. As she studied, she learned that Golgotha was the place where Christ was crucified, and that it means “the place of a skull.” Suddenly it started to come to light, but it still wasn’t fully understood. After all, the power itself was previously called magic, which was now laid down for it’s dark nature. She began to consider the origin of the sword of power, as the Green goddess had given it. Knowing that there are no goddesses in the Scriptures, and that the serpent had tricked the woman Eve in the Garden of Eden, telling her that she would "be like God" if she ate of the fruit, Teela-Na now saw the so called goddess, dressed in the serpents attire, for what she really was. From this time on she was known as the Green godless. They also learned that this godless woman was actually a priestess of Serpos, who was discovered to be the Eternian name given to the serpent of the Garden. Through knowledge of the Scriptures as well as dreams and visions, they discovered that the Sword of power was actually a literal representation of a spiritual Sword, which is the Word of God (the Book that Marlena had been supernaturally provided with), and the transformation that it performs. The techno harness was actually a cursed item to keep the eyes of its wearer in darkness, so the curse had to be removed by prayer. By lumping the divine Sword in with accursed magic, Serpos was attempting to cause the heroes to cast out the Good, with the evil, should they ever discover the truth about the dark source of magic, or that they would accept the evil with the Good, but the Truth never fails, and we serve a living God.

Aside: The Nature of the Sword of Power

The castle now called Golgotha was the seedbed for the Sword of Power. The spoken word is a physical representation of the need for speaking the words of faith through the testimony of Jesus Christ. God placed the seedbed and the seed long ago, as a sign to the people of Eternia who would eventually receive the Gospel of Salvation. Theirs is a different story from ours. Like us, they will face opposition from the powers of darkness. Unlike us, they were blessed by having their beloved Queen to be the original proponent of this message, which gave it excellent footing to take hold. Many would still reject the message, and many would cling to darkness for one reason or another, but many received the message, and power was given to them, and their works did prosper.

... I am just not at all sure how I feel; or even if I like the idea; about mixing earth religions with the MOTU...

I can dig it. I never wanted magic among my heroes, villains are a different story, they're villains after all. But the heroes can't have it. I've been contemplating the basic idea of Marlena bringing Christianity (since she's from earth she's the obvious candidate), and the Sorceress laying down her magic, but things like greyskull and the pwoer sword/transformation were a bit harder to come up with. This is totally for me, but I thought there would surely be some other MOTU fans who would like to reconcile this as well, so I finally sat down to write something up. The whole bit with Webstor was an "on the spot " kind of idea.

Thanks for reading! I'm surprised to have a response so soon!

I admire the effort put into this story.. Well thought out in my oppinion, and a great read! I have often thought through different scenarios for MOTU that make it fit in with Christianity, but w/o changing the premise of the original story I have found it rather difficult..

In my mind I have often taken He-Man as a rightous hero who does all he can to make sure his gift is used for good.. I remember the Filmation Ep. Problem with Power. He-Man thought he had killed a man by being irresponsible with his strength, and actually gave up the power and threw away his sword..

Skeletor always being the polar opposite was only interested in self conquest and power. At all cost that was all that mattered..

Just like our world, you choose a side..

While I admit magic and the use of sorcery can be a very taboo topic in Christianity and is rooted in the occult. I never placed much weight on it. Good or Bad.. Just a story to me. I always took it as no matter your circumstance and no matter the out come you must do right. He-Man is a great example, but of course Jesus is always the final truth and the way to salvation.. But, just as we do here on earth, Eternia needs its warriors for good. This is why I tend to just leave it as "fantasy", but as a believer, and follower of the Christian faith myself, I know never to idolize it.. But also never to judge those who see it differently.

He-Man states at on point that he never chooses to fight but fight he will if he must, and He hopes that each time may be the last..

She-Ra stated at one point when she cried for Hordak that she cried for him because he was still a living being, and all living beings deserve compassion..

Granted thats all from memory and not verbatum but you get the point.. While MOTU is not Christian in overall content I've still enjoyed the message as I've taken it over the years, generaly I speak of the Filmation side of it.. That message can certainly be taken differently by different people and perspectives of course.

But, as you stated this is not a debate, and I don't want to go anymore beyond your story than I alraedy have... These are just the first thoughts that came to mind.. I commend your story and your effort... I truly enjoyed it, and it was a refreshing take.. I enjoyed the inclusion of Jesus and that you were able to have even Webstor comment to Stratos about following the Queen, showing there is always hope and change with the the acceptance and understanding of salvation! A truely awesome gift indeed!!
The word of GOD is for sure powerful.. Bravo to you my friend!! Thank you for the chance to read it!!

That was actually pretty cool! Im certain that there are people here that would argue that eternia is a place where people can escape the real world but I wouldnt be able to help myself. I would have found a way to make Adam come to earth during the time of Jesus where he would learn about the ways of Christ and come back to Eternia with the extra powers to include healing too. Then Marlena and adam would have gotten into an arguement as to why She had failed to talk about him knowing all about him. She would then explain that she was ruled by science and had now found faith again because God had taken her only son under his wing to spread the truth.

The cosmic key could make this tie in, if one wanted too. nicholighkun mentions he doesn't want his heroes using magic, since the key is science its feasable.. I'm just not understanding where Adam would get powers from Jesus though? Holy Spirit?

nicholighkun, where/how did Bow come into this.. How do you include Etheria into your cannon?

    CocoaSmooth:
Thanks for the kind words! I was hoping to hear other peoples takes on the idea of bringing the Gospel to Eternia, but I wasn't sure if others thought about it like I do. Yours is interesting though. I've also been thinking that I'd like to design a Holy Spirit armor for He-man, and you're storyline sort of begs for it doesn't it!? Cool.

Well as a kid, my very first crush ever was Teela. Then She-ra came along. So I was one of those straight kids who loved watching She-ra! So the characters aren't written off in my mind. I'm a huge fan of the Secret of the Sword storyline. We rented that video tons of times when I was a kid. So that's pretty much the story line that connects them for me. Of course rather than using magical portals to travel back and forth, I'd probably say they use science created or naturally occurring warp points or something like that. Or maybe they even have to get into a ship and actually make the voyage in light speed capable ships. Truthfully, I haven't given that part much thought, as I'm sure you can see. : I

I generally like the bio's so I stick to them mostly, except I don't like the magic and false gods, and I don't much care for the NA re-write so far, but we haven't learned a heck of a lot about that arch yet, so I guess we'll see how that plays out down the line. "Keep reading the bio's!"

As I understand things the Holy Spirit maybe the only way Adam can get his powers really. I cant believe I forgot that major detail. As far as Holy Armor goes unfortunately for me I am a little too fascinated with the Knights Templars so In my mind the only way I have been able to see anything by way of armor is through the templar cross.

I like this story - It seems to be different enough to not be a MOTU story, but stand on it's own.

The only thing that's missing is a clear, definitive presentation of the gospel - You mention the cross, but not the completed work it represents...maybe I missed it?

And when I say "gospel", I mean this - 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 "Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importancea: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..."

It is this completed work by Christ, as opposed to man's own work, that saves - Ephesians 2: 8-10 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

So while we are to work, it is after our salvation, not for it. That is the awesome power of the gospel.

I'm encouraged that you would dive in to this, and hope you'll press on!

    Peace.

Very succinct! I never really saw a place for the Gospel to fit other than in quick statements like "As a young girl, Marlena Glenn was raised to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the only saviour of mankind." and whatnot, but only because I wanted it to flow more like a long MOTUC bio, and not so much like a full story. Of course that premise kind of fell to the wayside once the search for the book began, but all of that was inspired as I was writing, and wasn't planned from the beginning. Like I said though, I plan to add to it as time goes on. Thanks for reading and commenting! It's great to recieve feedback. Maybe I'll use those passages in later instalments.

Cool, man! And those things you included are solid for sure. And like I say, I'm stoked about your ideas, and only want to encourage it. BTW, I can't see the "read this post" link for some reason, even when logged in.

As for the "magic" part, I like how you're dealing with it. I tend to tell more allegorical stories, like Narnia or Lord of the Rings (Arguably, not a "Christian" story, but with many similar themes, and certainly directed by Tolkien's faith and worldview) and allow for "magic", though certainly toned down and more like the differences between "the force" and such. I really like how you've turned some things in MOTU on their ear to stay faithful to the Word - I think that's why I think this idea would make a great standalone story - A story about the redemption of heroes, as it were - The conflict within the sorceress is brilliant, and her transformation is pretty awesome. And the idea that He-Man would be made "weaker" to become stronger is huge - hard to tell, but worth telling!

The thread in question is in the Tar Swamp, which you need to request access to, but I think it's as simple as asking an admin for it. I'd say it's worth the small effort just to read that thread.

As for the other stuff, I'm thrilled that you didn't just read it, but that you looked a little deeper. I really didn't expect anyone to do that. I've never written anything storywise before this, but I have a couple of story ideas, mostly based on original character ideas (not MOTU related), but I just can't get a hold of how to write a story. I had fun writing this though, and it felt very natural once I got going. I'm hoping that this is just the first step into something based on my characters. Just for the sake of practice I may continue to add to this regularly, until I start to get the hang of writing. God only knows though.

A few related ideas you might want to try afterwards:

-Judaization of the MOTU-verse. Premise: Marlena was an American Jew, not an American Protestant, and carried a Sacred Torah with her on her spaceship. Adam and Adora are therefore Jewish and it is her duty to teach her children the 613 Commandments, so that they behave as worthy members of the Chosen People of G-d.

-Islamization of the MOTU-verse. Premise: Adam (PBUH), a half-earthling named after God's first human prophet, is chosen by Him, the Most Gracious and Most Merciful, to reveal His Eternal Word of the Holy Koran to the people of Eternia, making Adam the "Mohammed of Eternia". One night, the Borac miraculously transports him through space and time to visit Mecca and Jerusalem, and then ascend through the Seven Heavens, where he meets Mohammed, Jesus, Moses and all the other earthling prophets of God. Castle Grayskull becomes the holiest mosque on Eternia and the Heroic Warriors start a holy war against Skeletor's evil army of unbelievers.

-Buddhization of the MOTU-verse. Premise: Marlena was a hippie in her youth and learned about Oriental cultures and Buddhism. Once on Eternia, she sets herself on a mission to teach Eternians the Four Noble Truths, so that they may free themselves from the cycle of reincarnation and suffering. Some Eternians, previously mislead by Skeletor, learn that they have accumulated a lot of bad karma that needs to be atoned for before they can reach the liberation of Nirvana.

-Paganization of the MOTU-verse. Premise: Marlena is very proud of her Norse ancestry and teaches Adam and Adora to worship Odin and Thor, so that the Gods of War endow them with the strength they need to defeat their evil enemies and defend Castle Grayskull. They discover that the Sorceress, Teela and the Green Goddess, are in fact valkyries that Odin had sent to Eternia from Valhalla as emissaries to lead He-Man into victory.

You haven't quoted any of the Gospels, you've quoted Saul of Tarsus's Epistles (1 Corinthians, Ephesians), which are quite a different thing. Pauline Christianity does not define Christianity—it is merely one of many differing (and frequently conflicting) varieties of it. In fact, some scholars argue that Paul's doctrines, rather a definition of Christianity, were something quite different from Jesus's teachings, since certain concepts that are core and central in Paul's teachings are not supported by the words and deeds of Jesus as reported by the Gospels.

As for your sugestions, do I really need to say it? I'll pass.

But for your second part, the Tar Swamp is where people are allowed to discuss religion, not anywhere else. You may want to delete that comment before a mod gets wind of it. I'm sure you'll get infraction points for it if they see it.

That's where the .org admins relegate religeous, political, and the more adult discussions. You only get access by asking for it, which I assume is so that people who have kids that might be on here won't stumble onto it.

Why do you feel such a need to publicly and privately warn me instead of GigaMach? He commented that in his view your story was not conveying enough of the message of the gospel, and cited Paul's epistles to illustrate his point. I merely replied to him that Paul's epistles and the gospels are two distinct things, and this is a mere indication of a fact. I have no intention, need nor want to discuss the validity or not of religious ideas, be they Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Pagan or whatever.

BTW, I do not see why my mere statement of the fact that the gospels and Paul's epistles are not the same thing should merit infraction points any more than your having posted a story that reads like an attempt to push your own religious beliefs.

I wasn't. I do that any time I'm addressing someone without quoting them. That way the name stands out, so they are less likely to miss my response.

Giga was making a suggestion for me to consider for the future, in regards to my writing, you were discussing religion for religion sake. In other words, his was relavant to my story, and yours was relavant only to religion in general. At least that's how I see it. The admins may feel differently. I was warning you for your own good, not as an attack. I'm sorry that you took it that way.

My comment was relevant to Giga's suggestion, and I was explicitly replying to his comments. He said your story needed some improvement to better convey the gospel, and argued this by quoting two of Paul's epistles. I pointed to him that the gospels and Paul's epistles are not to be equated, because from an objective point of view they are different texts with distinct doctrinal contents. By this, I was counterarguing his argument that your story was not "Christian enough" for not clearly conveying Paul's doctrinal interpretation of it, because Pauline Christianity is not the only flavour of Christianity there exists out there. I was not "discussing religion for religion's sake" or saying something that is "relevant only to religion in general".

Regardless, if the mods take issue with the religious contents of this thread, I think they should first concern themselves with the fact that your story is very patently displaying Christian ideology by means of a MotU-themed story; i.e., it is using MotU (which as a mythos is itself quite devoid of any religious ideology) and infusing it with your own religious beliefs for the sake of talking about them.

Green Goddess, the gods mentioned on the Pre-ternia map, Mossman is a nature god according to the bios (a point that I reject), Teela is called a warrior goddess, Evil-Lynn is called an evil warrior goddess.

Are you here to argue? I simply wanted to share some of what I've developed for purifying a cast of characters that I love. I thought I'd share the fruit of my labor since there are many more like me, and what I've done may inspire them, or they may have ideas for me. This is purely for the MOTU, and not for evangelism, but if it happens to serve an evangelistic purpose to someone, then I'd be very happy with that. If it's just a ***-for-tat that you're looking for, then you'll win, because I'm not here for that, so you can have the last word if you like.

If anything, that's a very primitive form of animism—or at the most, a few notes of Greco-Roman or Nordic paganism thrown in for the effect. Quite a dim and far cry from modern organized religions with dogmatic beliefs and sacred texts such as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, etc.

The use of wording such as "warrior goddess" is there just for the dramatic effect it generates, not to convey any kind of religious convictions. It isn't unusual for sword and sorcery fantasies to sprinkle their language with phrases like "warrior god", because that has the ability to conjure up images of epic battles such as those of Nordic mythological sagas. If we were to take such phrases literally and consider Teela a true goddess, then his father Fisto must surely also be a god? Why on Eternia is a goddess living among mere mortals and working as Captain of the Royal Guard? And why did a divine, omniscient entity like her need to study at Eternia's university? And then I suppose Adam, if not a god himself, has to at least become some kind of supergod-man when he transforms into He-Man, because he is supposed to be so much more powerful than Teela. Should we infer that the other Heroic Warriors are also gods? And the Evil Warriors, too—heck, even Skeletor proclaims himself "a god" in the action movie.

"Warrior goddess", "nature god" and the like are merely effectist phrasing to attempt to imbue the story with some sense of epicness and grandiosity, not any kind of serious attempt at turning Eternia into a place inhabited by people concerned with religious dogmas like what you presented here.

I am confused as to what nich means about "purifying a cast of characters that I love", in what way do MOTU characters need to be purified?

I mean they are fictional characters in a fictional setting with a few fictional gods (tho the only ones I can think of at the moment are the Green Goddess and Serpos). I am sure that when God said not to put any other god before him he wasn't talking about fictional characters worshiping fictional ones but was more concerned with real people worshiping other gods and last I checked I don't think anyone is actually a worshiper of Serpos or GG

The closest inference I can think of to religion in Masters, is the scene in Conan the Barbarian, where Arnold gets crucified on the tree of woe.

For me the thaught of any earth religion in the MOTU Universe is a no go. But it's a good story nonetheless.
Nope.... nothing here! Just a link to my site http://motumulder.webklik.nl/page/fotoalbum with customs!
