Strange Toy i barely remember?? Any help?

Ok... In various threads, The subject has been brought up of various OTHER toys that you used to play with...

There was ONE that I can almost see clearly in my mind... but have NO idea what it was calle


For the longest time I THOUGHT it was 'captain Power'.... but No... that was the spaceship guys, and I never had them...



THIS guy... was basically in an 'orange jumpsuit'... On the FRONT half... and All Blue and Veiny on the BACK half... The gimmick was he was a Jekyll/Hyde, Bannner/Hulk kind of hero, where you would push a button on his belt and he'd flip around all 'powered up'

He was pretty cool... with his 'two faces' and hands/elbows that flipped for either direction... but I remmeber the spinning action failed pretty quickly... but he was ABOUT the right height...


ANYONE remember this toy?!?! I'm usually VERY good at remember these things, and this one's just nagging at me.

Power Lords were the toys and that was "Adam Power".

WoW! I actually had that thing myself and absolutely loved it as a kid. If it wasn't for this thread I'm quite sure that I'd never see it again. Man..the memories.

Defiantly one cool figure though.

I got the whole set (except the playset) for my birthday in 83', and ALL Of the figures had broken within a week!

They were very brittle plastic, and wouldn't survive a fall from a coffee table! they were a great Idea and I jumped on board cos I thought they were going to be the next 'Masters' like craze...fail!

That said they were ahead of MOTU in one arena...Design!! hey were all amazingly sculpted, and all had unique sculpts...No parts reuse at all!

As the posters above have already noted, the figure was "Adam Power" from the "Power Lords" series by Revell. The entire line was designed by famous sci-fi/fantasy illustrator Wayne Barlowe, which meant everything had scary, otherworldly feel, even the good guys! A really well-designed toyline,

Sadly as Ka noted, the toys were also VERY fragile for action figures. I had Arkus, the insectoid archvillain character, as a kid and he just fell apart while my MOTU figures just kept going.

Ironically, mine lasted a LONG time... I don't know if he ever actually 'broke'. Just the flip/spin mechanism stopped working... but you could still do it manually.

Ironically My Arkus Survived for years, as did my Sydot. Raygoth lasted a week....but the worst was ggripptogg, He was a stunning looking figure but He Broke into 5 pieces 10 minutes after I opened him.
