Hmmm... looks like Classic Media won't bother with releasing the complete soundtrack...

I am all for these new licensing deals, I can't wait to see what all is produced. Bring on the merch!

I love this idea, I hope that Icon Heroes does both a CG and SM so I can do this with them.

I'm sure He-man and Skeletor will be the first status made if Icon Heroes does statues but I'd like to see Teela and Evil Lyn, since they didn't get any statues from NECA.

I always wonder about this myself. My parents have pictures taken Christmas day '81 where the kids are holding up He-Man and Beast Man. In my mind, the 30th anniversary was last year.

I realize a lot of folks are bummed these won't work with the MOTUC figures, but wouldn't awesome, detailed mini-statues of Snake Mountain and Castle Grayskull be great on your desk? I think it's awesome (potential high price aside). I can't put a full-size MOTUC scale playset on my desk at work!

Graphic novel? I might have to check that out. I'll definitely get the comics. I'll have to check out the minatures first before buying and see what the prices are like.

It's no secret that The Horsemen are friends with AFX/Icon Heroes. There has always been a great deal of speculation whether or not some of them have been lending a hand in the previous Icon Heroes projects.

I'm right there with you for the most part, I collect mostly figures from several lines. So this news while interesting for many MOTU fans does little for me. Statues that are amazing could sway me and new media would be welcome but most of the other stuff is just "stuff" to me.

I've love miniature Castle Grayskull and Snake mountain statues. I'd never have room for both in true figure scale.

600 units is rare, they made more Mumm-Ra's total (SDCC, Regular and PowerCon Colors) then they did Cat's Lair

Just because you are seeing the Cat's Lair everywhere does not mean its less rare, it just means more people bought it for resale

I can't see it being any less than $80, not when a PVC figure from them is $40-50 and their 1st mini environment was $100.

If they do a larger run then Cat's Lair that is your only chance at a lower cost, I could see them do a 1000-1500 run given MOTU has a much more rabbid fanbase when it comes to buying merchandise.

Although I'm not enough of a Thundercats fan to buy the Cat's Lair, I still think it's well done. It does seem a bit pricey for what it is, but if they make Grayskull like that and of that quality, it WILL be mine.

When I see "miniature environments" and "Desk Accessories" I think Polly Pocks for Miniature environments.

For Desk accessories I think trap jaw staple puller, blade letter opener, orko desk coaster, man-at-arms all in one desk organizer, meckaneck tape despense-or.

I was a bit sarcastic, but my point was that even though they are "rare" it would seem a good number did not end up in the hands of collectors, but resellers, and I think that is a matter of price, because they are pretty darn cool, but they are shelf-warming half the comic shops in Chicago right now.

I'm excited for these things. On a long shot, it would be nice to see mini-environments of the Royal Palace and the Fright Zone.

You must work in a pretty cool place. I'd imagine most folks couldn't have really large items like that on their desk space.

    Thanks, I hadn't seen that.

Where are the merchandising threads going to turn up on the forum - don't want to miss my orko bedsheets if they get made!

Oh are the "miniature environments" just statues? I was hoping for something like a Mighty Max / Polly Pocket* playset, where it opens up to reveal a detailed interior, as well as mini figures, vehicles and beasts. I'm sure these statues will still look fantastic though.

*proper Polly Pocket, before Mattel bought the property and changed the concept completely.

Yeah I think they are just statues, since Icon Heroes is doing them.

Has Classic Media ever done this type of broad (everything mentioned in the article) licensing in the past? I was wondering if this could be the result of whatever deal they made with Mattel recently.

Nevertheless, I'm sure these miniature playsets would rock. I'm excited to see what they put together.

As someone who has wanted stuff like this for YEARS, I'm super happy with this news, and even happier that Icon Heroes is handling it so the look and feel stays in the family, so to speak.

Can't wait to see what these look like!!!

Just a guess, but I'm betting the deal they struck up was to make it easier for both parties to do what they do without having any complicated legal messines with the rights.
