What do you think about the reversed forearms on Stinkor?

Simple question and simple poll options.

Left - correctly assembled forearms as shown on the prototype & eBay test shots

Right - switched forearms on final production figure

*Please note that this poll is not asking if you will buy Stinkor or not. We know that most figures are pre-sold to subscribers so they have no choice about paying for the figure or not.

*Also note that this poll is not questioning whether you think the forearms are correct or not. We know based on Scott's (AKA Toyguru) comment below that the forearms were intentionally switched by the Mattel design team. Whether that is true or this was a mistake at the factory, it doesn't matter for this poll. I just want to know if you like the switched forearms or the original design.

We answered this a few days ago over on He-Man.org. Basically, Stinkor has so many shared parts (Mer-Man head, Beastman body, Mekaneck armor (and yes we know we haven't done him yet) that we wanted to make him pop on shelf a bit. We did the same thing on BG Evil Lyn (swapped her arm bands) and it went over really well with customers so we did the same here with Stinkor. Pretty cool huh!

Ahhh, heck. My screen jumped and I hit the wrong button. I mean to say that "I prefer the original forearm assembly as shown on the prototype". Sorry about that.

No problem. We can just look at the totals and then do a +1, -1 for an accurate result.

The poll vote choice options aren't showing up for me, so put me down for original, aka CORRECT forearms. The revamped (Dee-da-deeeee!) version looks like his head is on backwards- guess the Fisto problem migrated upwards.

From the pics I don't really care either way. I think I will need to have him in person really before I can decide.

Based solely off the pics, I prefer the initial design with the fins pointing out.

I do know me and one arm will be covered by the shield so no big loss there. I think with some creative posing the gun arm may be able to have a cool aesthetic with the glove's back fins. I will have to have him in hand to know for sure though.

Have they just cocked up what was going to be one of the best figures in he line so far? I think they might have.
After going to such efforts to match the vintage figures in the past (like packing Webstor with out his armor off) I struggle to find a reason why they did this

What a dumb "decision" (if that's really the truth ) to have reverse forearms!

My vote is for the original version as it was intended. The bulge on the outer forearms looks hideous and makes an awful unclassisized representation of the vintage figure or character.

I prefer the prototype version. But compared to many of the other issues hitting the line, it's probably one that I can live with slightly more

Original, reversing the forearms was just stupid. After all the negative things lately, they decide to do this on purpose?

If it hadn't been pointed out, I probably would have never noticed that they were switched. I'm not as up in arms (heh) about it as others, but I do like the original/correct arms better. I really think it's a shame that we have to correct these mistakes ourselves. I played around with an extra Skeletor figure, and it seems to be a pretty simple to switch the forearms to the right sides. All you have to do use some hot water to heat the arms up, pop them off, and pop them back on. Just don't drop the peg and spend 15 minutes looking for it. Painting will the big issue, but I think a few swipes with a paint marker will do the trick for me.

If push came to shove, then yeah i'd have preferred the proto version but, honestly, i could care less as it can't be any worse nor noticeable than reversed shoulders. Poor Roboto... *sigh*

    MrRoboto:

The thing is that if people don't take a firm stand then these things will happen again and again. And next time it can be on your favourite figure. Again, try to swap your Skeletor's forearms and just see what it looks like. Pretty cool huh? Are you sure it would be passable?

If we just don't care because it's not a figure we were looking for, then mattel will have a green light to screw on our most wanted characters. And worse than that, now they just have an excuse that they can use! Next time you get a figure with an arm for a leg they will say that they thought it would make it "pop". Of course that this is an extreme example but minor issues can happen if fans continue dismissing them.

And if anyone needs proof that the figure it's not ok, just look at the damn back cover people!!! Come on!!!

If the figure was correctly assembled I doubt than anyone who now states they prefer it this way would have any complains. Again I just hope that these people would start swapping their figure's forearms since they think they look much better that way.

And don't forget that there are people quitting from this line because of these issues. When enough people have quit so that they have to shut down MOTUC and you never got your favourite figure made, don't forget to thank those who are too affraid to be demanding of a quality product and prefer to accept defective figures just because they don't want to wait...

I'd like to have the 4H design. A figure that is put together correctly. All these figures need to have a stamp on them telling the consumer assembly required again b/c it wasn't done right the 1st time.
