Wanting things is one thing. IMO, unreasonable & unrealistic requests made after every new reveal is something different. Most of the time, once a toy is revealed, that's it. There will be no changes, no 2.0's, and no alternate era variants. I'd bet money you like this line more than I do. I just realized it's pointless to keep going on & on about one's displeasures once initially voiced. It's futile and also bums out those who disagree(and even some of those who do agree).
I don't know about that...we have made requests that were not unrealistic that Mattel and the 4H acknowledged later (Keldor's Swords, MAA's arm cannon, King Hsss' Earl Norem snakes, Evil-Lyn and MAA being popular enough characters to revisit after the Battleground Evil-Lyn and Snake MAA controversies, She-Ra having a hole in her head and needing more design elements). This is the same as DC Universe's Sinestro was too small in Wave 3 or Harley Quinn's face is blue back in Wave 2. Today's issues might take years to resolve.

When Mattel will get to them, they'll get to them. If fans see something they don't like, it can take two years or more to make up something new. No one is asking for an immediate turn around.

As for this thread, 200X heads aren't unreasonable or unrealistic, or even impossible. We are getting one next month with Stinkor after all, so the rule isn't absolute. The issue is the real reason this doesn't happen more often.

While I haven't suffered from them, QC is a legit issue since you aren't geting what you paid for. A Webstor with removable tiny arms(to use something I would have wanted) isn't something worthy of a petition IMO.

As far as I know, the only one of those requests granted are Keldor's swords. She-Ra was a vintage variant who just happened to not have a hole in her head. I'll believe new versions of King Hiss, Evil-Lyn, & MAA when I see them.

Ironically... I JUST started letting the nephew's play with my MOTUC... (anything to get them away from the TV!) and one of the FIRST issues that happened... Webstor's back pack popped off... and all the little arms fell out...

It was a BEAR to get them put back.. and then it just fell out all the time so I had to get the superglue out for the pack...

Sooooo Getting the arms out shoudn't be TOO much trouble if you really want to

But, Yeah... QC is the only thing I consider to be TRULY complaint worthy.... and a LOT of posters take even THAT to an unhealthy level

No.. She-ra's 'no peg' head was a definite response to the fan outcry.

Which again... was something that I disagreed with GREATLY... the Peg head was VASTLY superior. That was simply a case of Matty giving us THREE ways to display She-ra... and people throwing a fit because we didn't have FOUR.

The new version can not be displayed with the mask covering the eyes... so is a lesser version in my eyes.

She was a variant as much as Battle Armor He-Man. They may have made sure not to give her a hole in her head due to some online outcry, but she wasn't She-Ra 2.0. She was Bubble Power She-Ra. If she was made in response to anything, it was so she could ride the Swiftwind toy that was coming out. So far, the only toys made with fixes who were otherwise identical were the first reissues of He-Man & Skeletor.

I don't see Mattel making any 2.0's or variants with minor changes unless they can guarantee that they will sell. That's why I feel we will never see a new Goddess, 2002 He-Man, or larger Cringer.

OHhhhhhhh.... Yeah, THAT I agree with!

She was definitely made for the swift wind riding. That's WHY she was made.

The head/mask being a whole new tooled part was in response to the peg outcry, but she wasn't released SOLELY so people could have that.

That was totally the swift wind issue and an 'a-list varient' excuse to do it.

    Exactly.

When one walks into a store, you buy the figure that is there, or you don't.

This happens in all kinds of products - once there is some online interaction, some fans take it as they can dictate everything. I mean, look at some of the figures that were awesome but got trashed to no end because all the details weren't exactly what one segment (or sub-segment) of fans had made up in their minds they want.

4H do a great job of combining styles. I can't think of any figures I thought they really made mistakes on - the mistakes on figures in my opinion are always due to once Mattel gets their hands on them (Sorceress' drums, for instance), not 4H's designs which are almost always awesome.

Bubble Power She-Ra was really a way to fix the goof-up of the original She-Ra not being able to ride on Swiftwind (which Mattel kept declaring that the original She-Ra would be able to ride on Swiftwind). The 4H were able to use the opportunity to address fan concerns about the original She-Ra figure. Knocking out one of She-Ra's vintage variants was icing on the cake.

That's unfortunate, but understandable. You are going to think that fans who want these new elements are wasting our time asking for them until these elements do appear.

Yes she can. My Bubble Power has her mask over her eyes.

I was a big Filmation fan back in the day, but it was 200X that brought me back to MOTU. I agree that "hyper(anime)" style should not be part of this line, but I agree that "modernizing" the old concepts (with certain 200x influences) is the way to go. I say for the most part they have pulled it off. I agree that MOTUC should have influences from all versions, not just 200x.

200X fans will never be 100% on board classics. Why do I support MOTUC? To support MOTU as a franchise and brand. I love the figures and designs, but that doesn't mean for a minute that I don't wish I could re-purchase my entire 200X collection (Stactions included) with this level of articulation. I just know it's not going to happen, and I settle for and enjoy the classics. Doesn't mean I don't want to see 200X accessories and heads in the line.

Whilst I'm more of a vintage (and of that, particularly early vintage) fan than 200x by miles, I do think there are some instances where at least a few 200x bonus accessories could be justifiable (the blandness of Clawful, which would have gone for far further with an additional 200x head, for pure example).

I think the very least we could expect by this stage of the line is some kind of more "definite" guide to at least what's okay and what not. We think we've finally worked it out, and then boom, they go and do a total U-turn, by not including something we might possibly expect, or vice versa. Cos lets be honest... they pretty much make it up as they go along. I don't think 200x fans have "gotten aboard", maybe they've just given up.

They can include as many 200x bits as they want within cost limits, I just won't ever use 'em. I bought into the 200x line because it was all the MOTU I had at the time, but it never really won me over. Despite that, I certainly don't begrudge their inclusion, just never at the expense of a 'classic' accessory.

ive always been a fan of alternate versions of characters i want minicomics (oo-lar?), filmation, 200x and dolph he-man (and of course the respective skeletors) i want to have a shattered dimensions/sonic generations/turtles forever arc in my classics

i want barbarian he-man to be an independent jungle warrior
i want filmation he-man to be the heroic moral centre
i want dolph he-man to be the battle weary veteran
and i want a 200x he-man to be the rookie still learning what it means to call on the powers of grayskull

i want them to meet and be shocked at the differences, i want mini comics he-man to scoff at the optimism and non killing policy of filmation he-man, dolph has been to another planet before so he may not have as much culture shock compared to 200x which is rather more technological than mysticism
