Did cloning the Sorceress cause tension between Skeletor and Evil Lyn?

So, I'm re-reading it and it's talking about how Skeletor cloned her because he wanted a "magic-wielding bride" to pass on his legacy.

Did this possibly cause some tension with Evil Lyn? As far as we know, KELDOR married Evil Lyn, and after she bore him a child, left him. (?)
Obviously, she came back, but was she around during this particular scheme? Wonder if this was "one of those things" that ****** her off, and she socked it away in her brain for later when she would help release Gygor, Hordak, ETC. Just wondering if my time frame is off somewhere.

Maybe he did it after Evil Lyn left him with their son. Thinking he had lost his bride and child he magically cloned the Sorceress to raise in the way of evil and take as his bride when she grows up. Then she is rescued and Evil Lyn returns to Skeletor without their child. Maybe she left when she found out she was with child and Skeletor never knew he had a son...Either way, there is a period of time there where this could have taken place and an event to give him motive to do it.

This whole angle is one of my favorite aspects of MOTUC. I'd love a "Skeletor's Bride Teela" figure (I know it was in at least one coloring book...!)

I'm unsure of the exact timing-I wonder about the events of many of those minicomics. Even in Tri-Klops' Bio, it states that he joined Skeletor (not Keldor). It seems Skeletor had quite a lot going on in those early days...

That's a really good question. I suppose though that perhaps she might have been in on it and they would raise the clone together much like Hordak and Shadow Weaver did with Adora.....

maybe this was when he was temporarily insane. and also she could have left into the future when she learned that she was pregnant, stayed there nine month and gave birth - and came back to the present just a minute after she left. so no one would know that she was gone!

I too believe that when Skeletor clonned the Sorceress, he was in his insane phase; he may not been aware that he was married to Evil-Lyn

Sorta off topic, but also on topic...I loved the mini-comic THE TALE OF TEELA and I thought when Teela and the Goddess merged again, she was bad ass.

Anyone like the idea of a merged Teela/Goddess figure? Snake Armor, yet with flowing hair coming out from it like the mini comic?

There is of course a Golden Book story, Teela's Secret, where Skeletor tricks Teela into believing he is her natural father and she goes to fight beside Skeletor (under the influence of an evil gem). Evil Lyn does indeed become jealous and runs off to Hordak. Hordak of course betrays her!

As I recall it, part of the plan in cloning the Goddess (Sorceress in MOTUC) was that Skeletor could not only take a bride but utilise the clone Teela's mystical connection to Castle Grayskull via the Goddess/Sorceress to enter the fortress which would otherwise rebuff him. The mini-comic Tale of Teela is one of my all time favorites. That series of 7 mini-comics is my preferred canon.

However, the way I see it 'green' Goddess is the 'full-energy' version of Goddess before Teela was cloned from her and in the modern day whenever Goddess and Teela merge to reform the whole. 'Caucasian' Goddess is the Goddess since losing that part of herself that is clone Teela.

This is a damn wicked story, for sure! I mean, this is a huge MOTU plot in itself.

I think Keldor loved Lyn, but that to Skeletor Evil Lyn was persona non-grata. When Skeletor needed a bride Teela would have been his "first" bride.

Of course this helps explain Lyn's always trying to destroy, ursurp, or defeat Skeletor. I love that additonal story element.

I don't buy this whole cloning bs. I call fowl on that. It is just way too complicated and is full of nonsense. Sorceress got it on with Fisto and had a daughter, plain and simple.

You are talking about a mini comic story written back in the 80's as opposed to what we read in the bio's now. I don't think the two have anything to do with each other story wise, at least it doesn't show that they do in the bio's at this time.

Toyguru had 2 Teela origins to choose from ... 1. vintage mini-comic where Teela is magically cloned from the Goddess by Skeletor (where Goddess was long considered to be a pre-Filmation version of the Sorceress); 2. Filmation & 200x where Teela is the birth daughter of the Sorceress of Grayskull.

While the bio is lacking detail, which origin most closely reflects the MOTUC bio canon?
