Tempted, but probably not. If you could somehow disassemble the dome and get it completely dry then maybe, but there will always be some moisture in there that could do damage.
finally saw a vintage slush head. roommate found his. it looks perfect. viscous and clean. much better than water, though i tried that. looked up mineral oil and that stuff seemed legit. cheap and safe and common. can noone confirm what was originally in there? im telling you that vintage one was perfect. mineral oil research more for me.

I have heard it was mineral oil, but I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to know for sure unless they crack open an old Slushy and get the substance tested in a lab! I'm not sure you could go purely off look/smell/feel. Mineral oil does make sense as its non toxic.
I filled mine with tap water but I'm not sure if I'm going to leave it in. Thinking of putting bottled water in instead.

Filled it just long enough to see what it looked like up close and show it off to my wife. Then I emptied it and blew it out with some compressed air. Given the unforeseen issues with some of the other recent stuff (Snout Spout and Stay Puft spring immediately to mind) that prevents them from doing what they're supposed to do, I don't want to take any chances. I'll check back in a year or two and see if anyone who filled the dome has had issues.![]()
I would love to fill it up with water but I'm afraid that the water will strip away at the paint or react with the plastic in some way that will have some negative effect. So no, I'm not going to be filling it up.

How do guys get the water in the dome? I tried pouring it in like it was pictured on the package and it spills all over without any getting in the helmet. Do you just dunk it?

A syringe, perhaps? That could work too.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

Water will damage your slushhead, no if ands or buts about it. Water will eventually hurt the figure. Question is more how much damage it will do. ( not saying this to be gloomy but I have worked with artifacts that have had water damaged in the past. Some from the titanic, it's amazing how little damage is done sometimes, but their is always damage.)
****Safety tips though if you wish to fill your slushy****
boil the water before hand to make sure it's pure!
Airtight filling should help limit damage.
Don't feel and refill often. Try to keep it one way. Multiple fillings will increase speed of damage.
Check your local water listings for fluride, it's a whitener often added to drinking water for teeth, will most likely damage paint.
Hope that helps

I'm not putting anything in my Slush Head's dome. As awesome as these figures are, there have been some unforeseen issues (Snout Spout's nose), that have cropped up. For all we know, putting water in the dome will quickly cause the paint apps to deteriorate.
200X fan? Classic fan? What does that mean? I'm a MotU fan!!!
I had to use a syringe, and I filled it with distilled water. It looks amazing, but I'm still undecided about leaving it in there.

I ended up going with distilled water, colored with just a tinge of green and brown food grade dye and used a pipette to fill it.
It actually looks like swamp water and hasn't hurt it at all.

Yeah, that sounds great. Would love some pics. I am not sure what to do yet. I gotta admit I'm a bit afraid of hurting the figure paint. These figs are expensive...And don't want to have to buy a replacement. Although I am not a big NA fan...I want my MOTUC complete!

i bought a food injector at the dollar store, IF i'm going to fill my slush head I will use that o do it. anyone else planning on filling it not from a tap, I suggest getting one of those too. cheap and effective esp if you're going the distilled, bottled water, mineral oil, aloe/glycerine gel route.
I still haven't decided I'm doing it, but it looks SO cool filled.

I'll be using a pipette to fill some mineral oil in there.
It bears the least risk of doing any damage.
It'll take him a few more weeks to arrive though...
