I even spent more on a defective figure than someone who has a sub did.
It's just a thought. I figured Matty would cringe at selling their figures at reduced prices to EVERYONE, because then people could just return everything they felt didn't meet QC (or didn't want) and then wait for the cheaper figures.

By at least limiting it to people who bought a sub before, this would ensure that the figures might be going to those people who really needed the corrected figure.

Who knows the best way to handle this, but I think a subcription like this in general is a very bad idea.

I think a more realistic approach would be for rereleases of these figures in the future for day of sales like they did with Orko. That way newbies to the line can order the figures they need to complete their collections and collectors that really want to update their figures can do so. I know TG said they retired rereleases, but he also said this was not set in stone and if the line continues to prosper, I can't imagine why Mattel wouldn't want to do this. It would mean more money and to quote Jimmy Fallon, "Everybody likes more cash"

    Nope, I wouldn't buy it...
I'd rather see new characters before "corrected" ones...
Besides, most of the "screw-ups" don't even bother me...

And your realistic solution is for us to pay for Mattel's mistakes!? Why should we?
Mattel can afford paying for them, we cannot. We're already paying hefty prices for these figures as is, and if Mattel doesn't want to give any good incentives on their part to their loyal fans, we should not treat them as Gods and offer them a bigger banquet just to treat us right.

    If only . . . .

But your sentiment does raise an interesting point - the next time this happens and the next, and the next, etc.

What happens if Mattel does do a "get it right this time" limited sub for everyone who wants one, and then, in usual fashion they reverse something, or in some other way foul-up some of the figures?

What assurances are there that any reissue figure would be problem free? When now, no such claim can be made.

And when, not if, some of these new figures are error-ridden, will Mattel then accept accountability and make things right? Or will the customer have to eat the cost yet again, left only with the hope of a third run?

Nah. Despite the mistakes, I don't notice them as my figures are in a display cabinet. Sure I may pose them from time to time, but I don't see the faults. I feel bad for those who want their figures to be absolutely 100% perfect, but I don't personally want money that could go towards newer figures to be spent in this fashion. Purely selfish reasoning on my part, but then again who's reasons aren't.

I will never purchase another subscription from Mattel but I would be interested in some of those figures, particularly Hordak with full armor if the figure had the regular abdominal piece instead of the smooth piece.

    I'd like a sub-line but I prefer a pop sub-line or NA sub-line ,I think it would be a success .

I might consider it? But the thing is that I don't want another sub added on. But are some needed?

Stratos? The wings can be fixed easily by yourself be it hot water of hair dryer. Besides Scott will say get the DC Vs. pack version!

    Hordak is fine

Roboto, yes! I want a Roboto that doesn't look like he's been through a war!

King Hsss, I fixed myself. Don't need him! unless they make a new second half with more snakes on him!

Sorceress, YES! If Scott would swallow his pride for 5 seconds and put his ego aside and realize how perfect Emiliano's design for The Sorceress was and let the Horsemen go with it. We would get the perfect Sorceress! Oh and the extra optional Spell Caster hands! That way she can have 2 open hands!

But we'll never see it! We'll see more Spector stuff before this!
I FULLY SUPPORT THE INCLUSION OF ILLUMINA IN MOTUC!

I agree with the free part, especially if you were a sub holder, where you don't have chance to avoid a defective figure

I don't think so. There would have to be some new stuff in it for the most part.

•Stratos with corrected wings, and a hand that can actually hold weapons. He could come with a Filmation-accurate Staff of Avion
•Hordak with full body armor (like Fisto)
•Roboto with corrected shoulders and 200x head
    •King Hiss with corrected shoulders
•The Sorceress with a new engineering for her wings that works without the ugly drums and makes full arm movement possible
•and of course Stinkor with correct forearms and paint apps for his accessories
Stratos - I fixed the wings myself, but I would like the staff.
Hordak - I'm fine with the original
Hiss - I don't think the mistake is bad enough for me to drop money on him again
    Sorceress - I would buy a 2.0 with a better wing design.
Stinkor - I'm thinking of fixing the one from my sub myself, so probably not interested in buying a fixed one.

You can't see the drums on the Sorceress from the front, I've fixed Roboto and King Hiss' shoulders, Hordak doesn't need armour like Fisto and I'm not really bothered about Stratos' hands being unable to hold anything. Regarding Stinkor, I wouldn't have noticed if someone hadn't pointed it out, so I'm not really that bothered by that either.
I agree with you. I do not want to buy figures that are the same but just with fixed parts.

I would buy a Goddess with different accessories. I would only buy another Snout Spout if he came with an additional battle face more 200x influence(tusks). I dont think we need another Sorceress untill we get her battle ground style. Same goes for King Hiss(7 snake upper body) and Roboto(2 removeable hands 200x inspired head, red chest armor plate and 2 sets of bigger 200x guns for each hand attachment.

Uh, no thank you. As far as I'm concerned- the opportunity to do "fixes" exists within the variant figure slot. Give me a Sky Strike Stratos, a 2002 King Hssss, a Battleground Stinkor (good lord what exactly would that look like or come with? LOL!), you know- that sort of thing. A way to mix and match pieces from the previous figure with the new one to have a "fixed" version... sort of like they did with Bubble Power She-Ra. But no- not just "fixed" re-releases of the same old figure I already bought a year or two or three ago.

I would rather see new characters before they go back to correct anything wrong with older ones. Things like Roboto, King Hiss and Snout Spout can be corrected as they go (well should be anyway) and wouldn't warrant taking a sub slot (in my opinion).

No thanks, I'm moving on and excited about the up coming figures. What's done is done so my money is going towards them.

Generally, no, I wouldn't buy corrected figures. Of the specific ones mentioned above, the only one I would definitely buy would be Roboto, and only if it included a second head. I would be on the fence with regard to Stratos, but again, only if it had the additional accessory. I just display my figures on a shelf with minimal posing/re-posing, so there isn't a whole lot of reason personally for me to buy figures for corrected shoulders or forearms, or even improved paint apps. If such a line were created, I'd selectively cherry-pick it for only those figures with a new accessory or head, or a substantially different paint app.

I wouldn't want a sub for this. However, if this line lasts until 2017 or so, it would be nice if they at least released the figures with the corrected parts. Enough time would have passed and these figures might be more wanted again then.

    Absolutely not.

None of the problems you described warrant dropping another $22 bucks, IMO. I would LOVE another sub-line in 2013. I would just hope for it to focus on new characters from FILMation/Jetlag, PoP, NA, or mini comics.

Not unless they came with some really cool looking extras. If Hordak was a little more 200x ish I'd be in for him. Even with amazing extras I think it'd be a figure by figure basis for me.

I would go for it. Just a six figure sub, because we have six figures that have had major problems. it would be the same as the 30th, using the same SKUs.

    Roboto
    Green Goddess
    Snout Spout
    King Hiss
    Stinkor
    Jewel Star
