What are your FAVORITE Vacation Destinations???

I never went on vacation growing up, so now I absolutely LOVE to travel with my wife (especially going on cruises)!!! With that said, what are some of your FAVORITE Vacation Destinations/ Experiences???

Mine are:
~Caribbean cruises (Haiti, Jamaica, Cozumel, Bahamas)
~Las Vegas
~Grand Canyon
~Smoky Mountains (Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge)


**Fingers crossed, I HOPE to go to Disney World this year and add it to my Bucket List!!

My favorite places have been Stonehenge, Paris, and Brittany. Brittany has been calling me back since the day I first set foot there.

But particular favorites:
Disney World (I could ride Space Mountain forever!)
My wife's hometown in Maine (Night skiing in winter! Woo!)
Camping in the desert was always fun.

Las Vegas is my favorite vacation spot without a doubt. Before the economy crashed, I was going out there every year during late March/early April. Vegas is beautiful and there's always something to do. I also enjoy going to Florida. My Grandpa has a winter home down there that I can stay in for free when I go down there. From there it's like an hour to Daytona Beach and about 2 hours to Orlando. It's a relatively inexpensive trip if I go down there.

I've never been in USA nor Europe; although because of work I've been in South Asia & many places in Latin America, so I have these 2 top spots:

1) Brazil: Porto Seguro
2) Argentina: Puerto Iguazú (Iguazú Falls)
3) Argentina: Bariloche

Chicago for sure. I love Cincinnati, Milwaukee and St. Louis, but Chicago is just so awesome and you never run out of things to do there.

Las Vegas is my favorite vacation spot without a doubt. Before the economy crashed, I was going out there every year during late March/early April. Vegas is beautiful and there's always something to do. I also enjoy going to Florida. My Grandpa has a winter home down there that I can stay in for free when I go down there. From there it's like an hour to Daytona Beach and about 2 hours to Orlando. It's a relatively inexpensive trip if I go down there.

I have only been to Vegas once and had a blast! Loved the lights, the shows, the atmosphere, etc. I have a good friend that lives there and she lets us stay with her. And I have another good friend that gives me free airline tickets. So, not too bad.

I've been to Las Vegas and many tropical places, but the best vacation spot in the world is Disney World without question.

I am so glad to hear that! We are planning to go this year, but we are waiting to see if they offer FREE dining for this fall.

Never been to Chicago, but always wanted to go. Heard great things about it! Been to Cincinnati MANY times as it is only 2.5 hours away. LOVE to catch a Reds game when in town.

Yeah, I have heard nothing but good things about Chicago. It, along with NYC, Washington DC, Alaska, and Hawaii are all on the US vacation Bucket List.

If you go to DC, try if at all possible to go in April or early May. I went to school for four years in DC, and I love the city, but it can be brutal in the summer, temperature-wise. But in the spring - if you can time it around the Cherry Blossom Festival - it is absolutely gorgeous, and shows the city at its absolute best.

I have always wanted to see that. I have heard it is BEAUTIFUL!

This is a tough one; I like to use 'vacations' as a chance to see something I haven't. But, I tend to visit New Orleans a lot. Other than that; I have to say that Hawaii was one of the best 'vacations'. I can't say enough good things about Hawaii; my only complaint are the cost of everything and the locals. I 2005, a Subway meal for two at home was just under 10 bucks. In Hawaii, it was nearly 20. Also, the people in Hawaii are not the friendliest bunch, especially towards 'Main landers'. My wife and I like to get away from the 'tourist' areas when we go places. We found the locals wanted NOTHING to do with us both at the beaches and local restaurants; probably the rudest service I ever received at a restaurant. I used to love Disney/Universal Orlando, but having back problems, the rides just are as appealing anymore if you know what I mean. When my daughter turns 5, we plan to go back to Orlando.

A place that is relatively in-expensive for me to visit would be the Fort Walton/Destin, FL if I want a beach trip. Nice warm clear blue/green water (though the bull sharks and rip tides are bit of a life threatening risk to be mindful about), plenty of gimmicky beach vacation things to do. GREAT fishing. The hotels are nice; the sand is almost pure white and as soft as sugar. The people are relatively friendly, the food is tasty, the weather can be a bit hot with intermittent storms.

I have only been to New Orleans once when I was about 7, but been to Louisiana about 30+ times as that is where my mom was from and where her family still lives (in between Alexandria and Baton Rouge).

I would like to bring my wife down there sometime since she has never been....and I haven't been back since my mom died in 2006

Hawaii is my favorite as well. I've seen some of what you've experienced, but thankfully my girlfriend is from there, so when I'm with her, I'm not treated as a Haole nearly as much as if I was on my own. Hawaii is my favorite as well. I've seen some of what you've experienced, but thankfully my girlfriend is from there, so when I'm with her, I'm not treated as a Haole nearly as much as if I was on my own. It is CRAZY expensive, but fortunately we have a free place to stay and car to drive when we go.

I found it odd behavior for a place that relies heavily on tourism.

My favorite places to go to are San Diego (it would be fantastic even if SDCC wasn't there), Las Vegas, Cape Cod, and NYC. I haven't been to Cape Cod in about 8 years, but I hope to go back soon.

Kerala, India is my favorite. Warm, beautiful countryside, amazing food, and wonderful people.

In the states, Maui is very nice. All the great things about Hawaii, but without the hoards of tourists.

I've never been down south, but I'm really hoping to make it down to the gulf coast region sometime soon.

I used to love Roller Coasters when I was young (and still do as long as they are not wooden. The wooden ones knock me around too much.
