Well, I respect your honesty.
To be honest, most likely. I was not as bitter about the line then as I am this year.
Plus, my other issue is that who actually heard of these characters before today? Sure, you might have, but how many people actually know anything about this? I never heard of them until reading this post. I bet 97% of He-Man fans out there had no idea who this guy was, or even saw that picture until today.
To be quite honest, I was not all that thrilled by Demo-Man or Vikor either. Vikor I accepted because I pretty much got a Conan with MOTUC articulation and sculpting. Demo-Man I accepted beause of the Skeletor head he came with.
The other problem is, I am a completist. I have to have one of each figure opened and one of each unopened, even the ones I do not want, if I don't, I will have a gap in my collection.

While I'm not super excited to get these guys as I think the designs are... off? Not sure what it is I'm not excited about. I do think these are excellent 30th SDCC figures and a very logical choice. If Vikor didn't come out already he would have made a good choice too I think. I mean these guys essentially shaped the line into what it is today. Sure we never saw them until somewhat recently but that doesn't make them any less important. Sure RamMan or Modulok would have been more popular, but they don't represent the line or a certain part of it's history the way these guys do. I think they'll look good in my collection. Trying to figure out how I'll use the other 'outfits'. One may end up on Snake Man-at-arms I think. Not sure if it'll be the space one or Tank Top.

This figure makes total sense for the 30th anniversary. But I have no interest what so ever in it. But I feel having them in my display case will make a great conversation piece as I explain these were He-man before there was He-man.
Then there is that debate where I have no room for figures I do want let alone these that I don't. I just have to see what happens when Con comes around.

First MOTUC SDCC exclusive that is uber-underwhelming. I understand the significance these three had as concept figures for the original line but still meh. I like the barbarian guy though. The tank guy looks goofy enough and thus interesting, but with those US military insignia he won't get far from the spare parts bin![]()
Evil Master of Thinking!
I confess I did not read thru the entire thread to see if what I'm about to say was posted, so just saying this now before a bunch of people pounce on me for it otherwise:
I don't think it's the exclusive that's the problem per se, but that it's the only exclusive for Masters' 30th anniversary; and they're heading into really obscure territory with it.
I mean...this thing makes He-Ro look like a casual piece in comparison.
Another more familiar character should've been done along with this.
That was the problem: pretty much all Comic Con exclusives that I've seen so far are generally really underwhelming this year.
"Whoever says money is evil...doesn't have it"- Boiler Room
I love MOTU so much I hate to be negative ... but this is definitely a disappointing reveal. No nostalgia factor here for me. Also, these in no way stack up against previous SDCC characters like He-Ro, Marlena and Orko.
To be honest, I had missed the speculation and rumors about the Trio and was not previously aware of the Roger Sweet prototypes - a very different position to the prior knowledge of Vykor and Demo-Man (and Red Beast).
I hope this doesn't kill off fan interest in concept figures as I still have a huge need for some of the Tomart article concepts that sadly remain off the table at this stage ...
I guess these will be part of the fighting foe men? I'd rather that as the bio-story than say part of Marlena's astronaut team.
As a completist, I feel like I need to go to the bottleshop, buy a slab and keep drinking until the fat woman next door looks like a supermodel ... about then these guys might look like they could have been on the Filmation cartoon and might just fit into my collection. Of course, by that stage I might even think Flipshot belongs in my collection instead of his white mailer prison ...![]()

Nevermind, my question has been answered and it is LAAAAAAAAAAAAAME. That is so lame. They give us a staction that has nothing to do with DCU. Why not just do Larfleeze then?
-_- I am so sick of companies licensing products and then not doing anything with them. First it was Toynami who did nothing with the Voltron license after the Masterpiece set, and now Mattel is going to do nothing with it after their sub ends. They could have at least done a villians 3 pack of Hagar, Lotor, and Zarkon. Or do a Blazing Sword Vehicle Voltron. But nope, now I'm going to have to wait until their license expires on it in probably like 7 years, then have a new company release another lion voltron and hope they do other characters too.And Voltron, well since they can't give last years exclusive for Voltron away (meaning it has not sold in months on Matty) they probably figured why bother
Wow, that's a dreadful figure. Pass.![]()
I've gone on holiday by mistake
They didn't! According to Scott, the 4H have hardly ever sculpted much of the Ghostbusters figures... even though it was touted as such when the line first began!
*sigh*
I think you are correct! Dead and Busted!! Quite sad reallyAlso quite pathetic the way they revealed GB news on He-man forums, refuse to answer any questions in the GB Ask Matty section lately, raise the price of Dana from $20 to $25 (even though they promised, in writing, all 2012 figs would be the $22 standard), and refuse to acknowledge the infamous "Thank You" to cancelled Sub holders (details were promised to be revealed at the NYCC in Feb - still nothing!
). Too many lies, broken promises, lazy corner cutting, misinformation, mismanagement, and a tendency to ignore/disregard customer questions and issues.
And someone on the Matty forums today had the audacity to blame the fans for the demise of the GB line![]()

Ram Man, Snake Face
Coming Attractions
Almost done!
Hah, what's up with that helmet.... can we rename the barbarian mode "Pots & Pans He-man"? PPH!
Look, does anyone else sees some similarities?
Looks like the vintage toy face
The cheek bones are higher and the jaw seems to be more massiv. Plus the more open mouth.
I think, it`s more accurate

Last important characters: Two Bad, Tung Lashor, Squeeze, Modulok, Horde Trooper
That would be awesome, KK!
You know...that's actually a good point (your He-Ro comment). It made me remember there were people who didn't know who He-Ro was at all! Hmmm. Well...as long as Mattel has a big sign saying something like "The original He-Man prototype figure!" or something, it could work.
It does look pretty close! I'm pretty sure this face is sculpted by the guy who did Bow, Fisto and Frosta's heads. They all have the same look. Djorde, I think his name is.
P.S. All three characters are Vykron! I can't remember if that has been said here. Toyguru said it over at Matty:
COBRA KHAN: hi scott, i wanna know if the figures represent 3 different caracters or is the same person with 3 dif. outfit.
fantastic work and great price for a lot of pieces.http://forums.mattycollector.com/eve...457#9201026457Toyguru: One guy with three outfits. More will be explained in the bio.

As others have pointed out, it would had been really cool if Oo-lar/jungle He-man was this year's SDCC exclusive since that is his first appearance. Imagine him in a box with that blue beast he battled in the He-Man and the Power Sword comic book? Awesome!![]()
