So it does have that going for it.

Aw see, right there...that's just a "crappy, stupid concept character that nobody wants".

'ey to each his own. While I'm happy for everyone who's so excited over Ram Man, I couldn't care less if he'd have come out a few years further down the road.

I totally want him too!!!! And Furry!!! He looks like a Were to me and with Shokoti having that vampiric look the two would be perfect to release around the same time. Bring it on!!! Sure some concept characters aren't my cup of tea but there are some I love (like He-Ro for example) and how can anyone define Draego-man as anything less than awesome! The fact we may never see these characters makes me as sad as the line ending. Honestly I'ld rather have many of the concepts and prototypes over any of the GR. As someone else mentioned, one person's crap is another person's most wanted I honestly hope the line can double its subs by the 6th, and maintain them for a couple more years. btw that's not a slam against the she-ravers and I do want to see the GR balanced out someday and Glimmer is on my list too, I'm just stating my personal preference.

    God I hope so.

I wouldnt mind if we got flooded with concepts AFTER the main roster is taken care of. Mattel has PROVEN time and time again, and MIGHT do it again, that if we dont buy every last thing (hell..... even if we do) in 2 seconds, we get a incomplete line and try again in a few years. Re-issues ---> 200X ---> Classics (?) so whats next mini masters as a half done line?

When Mattel can fully commit to finishing what they started, I will too. They have a heck of alot more money than us.

to repeat what I said on the first page to EtherianChronicles:

"by your argument, "later" seems to mean "not at all".

Why would they have faith that the concept characters will sell later, when thus far you've suggested every indication that people won't touch them with a ten-foot pole?

And this is why they never went ahead with pre-orders. "

I hope that's the last we've seen of concept characters. At this stage in the line, it's dire straits - we just don't NEED them.

You see there alone are 11 characters - and that's not counting vintage MOTU. I just can't see how it's going to be done.

People say 'ah but then you have the quarterly items! They can be done in 2/3 packs!' - but then we're back to square one and the issue of cost. Now it could be that people will fork out MORE if they KNOW who's coming. On the other hand, no amount of 'fan-favourites' are going to increase people's salaries/wealth in order to afford it all...

And this thread still exists why? The opposite threads expressing the interests of those of us who couldn't possibly care less if yet another vintage motu redo showed up over an actual new character to toy media or a pop character who hasnt been redone whatsoever have been shut down nearly immediately...

Your "crappy" concept characters are the only reason I ever subbed. Isn't it time to realize that we all love MOTU for silghtly different reasons??
Photog is here! thank you, Mattel!

Now how about some mini-comics love (like Lodar, Geldor, Dakon......)? And Mermista?

Agreed. I hope we haven't seen the last of them. I appreciate I might fall into a minority, but i'd rather have the FFM, Demo-Man, etc than characters like Netossa.

One of the things I love most about this line is the obscure or concept characters; characters that never had a figure.
He-Ro, Zodak, Cheif Carnivus, Vikor, Demo Man, BG Teela, Queen Marlana, Adora, Shadow Beast, Count Marzo, Eternian Guards, Snake Men, Fighting Foe Men & others have been a very welcome addition to the line. I Look forward to more.
Some of the characters that never got toys are the ones I want the most. Like Eldor, Darius, Evil Seed, Prahvus, Hawke, Shokoti, Lorde Masque, Lizard Man, Sea Hawk, Goat Man, Geldor & many others.
Everything is welcomed, but it is a bit unfair having all fans to commit to a sub. All the extra add-ons to the sub is outrageous too if you don't want beasts & variants.
not fair for the cherry pickers.
Wish List: Eldor, Skeleton Warriors, King Argho, Horde Wraiths, Kobolds, Prahvus, Lord Masque, Rock Monster, Gen. Tartaran, Evil Seed, Carnivorous Plant, Lizard-Man, Hawke, Crimson Fury, Melaktha, Extendar, Spinwit, Ra-Jarr, Kelclar, King Miro, Dare, Missile-Toe, Sh'gora, Vizar, Harpy, ABC Giants, Lodar, Dragoon, Darius, Seahawk, Masks of Power Demons, Slob-Boar, Bubblor, Three-Beast

I remember when this line first was announced, folks on toy sites were screaming bloody murder that they didn't want to re-buy figures they'd already bought just a few short years ago, and Toyguru assured them they'd be doing a lot more than that.

I too want everything; I want so many characters that never got made at all. If I just wanted vintage, I'd only collect the vintage line.

I'd rather have concept figures than most of the PoP/NA/late-vintage figures that would come after Jitsu.

If you don't like the figures, either sell them off or don't subscribe. It's pretty simple.

No. The reason they never went ahead with a pre-order was because then Scott and the ones behind the line working on it, couldn't realize their own personal agendas by having the characters they want. Which we are actually as fans, subsidizing. That's why they don't do pre-orders because then they will see the small vocal minority wants the FFM and Vikor and Demo-man and Oolar who is constantly asked for on this board and 100% chance we are getting him in 2013 because hell let the sausage fest continue! Let there be concept He-man after concept He-man. It seems to me like a case of history repeating itself. "Hey guys do you know what this line really needs?" "What a decent Army builder, i.e. Horde Troopers"? No."Uhhh more females that aren't made up variants of one another?" No. "Uh what then?" WE NEED MORE CONCEPT HE-MAN FIGURES, and more variants of He-man! Genius. Let's do that then. "But boss what if it kills the subscription model because the majority is tired of getting the same character over and over again at the expense of someone new?" Uhh, haven't thought that one through yet, but stay tuned. Maybe we will do more unique characters in a movie year. "But boss." We have to do what is accessible to fans, they see he-man and when their mom's and them are walking through Target, they say,...." Uh boss, about that" Not now.

You see where I'm going with this albeit very snarky but enough is enough, let's re-work the 2013 sub maybe cause I have a sneaking suspicion it's going to have a few more stinkers than the FFM.

Exactly. It is so sad to me that here at the possible end, it is forgotten that the line started with a new character. Many of us bought in to get the new never-before-done characters, but I guess that isn't important anymore. Those of us who bought subs every year for the full range of characters are now minimized for those who only collect the line for nostalgia.

    edit: exactly pertaining to kingrandor82....

Ahh yes that is a thing to consider but I think a lot of members on this board who have been posting lately would take it on the chin for a Glimmer, Angella, Madame Razz and Broom 3 pack, more than the FFM. I dare even say we may pay more than 75 dollars for that three pack.

I like most of the new stuff.

I really want to see more from the "King He-Man" era..

Don't get me wrong. I started collecting out of nostalgia because I had many of the vintage figures as a child. That is and will always be the main draw. But I think its really cool that after all these years, are trying to expand the story and introduce some newness into the brand. In the long run, that is a good thing.

Well, I didn't start collecting this line out of nostalgia, but your "end result" mentality of thinking...that's my line of thinking too.

I like the concept characters, Vikor and Demo Man are still top 5 figures IMO. Through I can understand the frustration with so many of them and being forced to pay for them in the sub, the Fighting Foe Men are what's preventing me from getting a 2013 sub.

At the very least we should get Mara and Eldor, those are 2 concept characters that people actually want.
