These guys are growing on me and I don't really mind them. If anything, they are just new characters I can add to my collection (and my own story of MOTU). Really digging the packaging but not liking the idea of "snap on" armor with having one side to it.

Yeah, its cheap and cost cutting. Again, this should have been three different figures priced at $66, but instead we get 3 basic figures with a few cheap clip on pieces for $90. When TG says its is priced fairly, he means for those who will only buy one figure, but their business plan on this figure is obviously aware that many collectors will buy all 3.

It makes me sad to think about how much better each of these could have been as unique individual figures given the proper 4H treatment, instead of the cost cutting treatment. Lets face it, as much as I wanted these three figures in the line (and I really, really wanted them!) these are ill-conceived and seem rushed.

After watching the video I'm actually less impressed than I was before.

How come Scott only makes these videos when he knows the fans have a problem with something, like when the Sorceress came back with twin-turbines he made a video telling us how awesome it was that they "magically" opened. Now when the fans don't care for the SDCC exclusive we're treated to a video touting the awesomeness of the snap on parts?

I wonder when the Vykron bio will be revealed? Maybe that will convince some of us how awesome the figure is.

I get excited this video, I liked the package (I would like to see the title and bio).
unfortunately it only includes a human head, I believed that included two heads (besides the military head) I had planned to buy just one vykron and using a he-man and tryklops for the other two variants.

This figure is definitely growing on me. I think that the packaging looks cool!

I was kinda' hoping that TG would have talked about Mighty Spector and Spikor, too. The Castle Grayskull box got me excited. The packaging for the vintage line was really, really good.

This is true... but at least he is doing his job here. He is the PR guy, so its up to him to engage in damage control when things go terribly, wildly, profoundly wrong.

At least he reacts to fan respond. I think that`s okay.

But why should a video convince me to buy a figure I`ve already seen? It`s the same figure. And a bio doesn`t make a figure looking better either...

Thanks for the video presentation! It's such a tease though... I wanted that camera to zoom in to the box and show us the figure's tagline and to see the bio on the back... more to look forward to I suppose! I am pretty psyched for this figure- I can easily imagine some future He-Man and Skeletor variants (or even Catra) presented in this type of box with a bunch of variant armor, weapons, and pieces displayed on either side. Something like Laser Light/NA/NA TP He-Man, or Laser Power/NA/Discs Of Doom Skeletor. Or a classic toy costume Catra with elements to make Scratchin' Sound/Shower Power variants.

While I understand folks' criticism of the "one-sided boots", I find myself actually quite okay with the way they handled this element for this particular project. Sure, if each "look" for "Vykron" were treated as a single-carded regular release (in other words, three separate characters rather than one character with three appearances) they each would have gotten more bells and whistles... but with all of the figures that MOTUC needs to tackle in order to appease the rabid fanbase, I appreciate getting all three concepts in one package for $30. Sort of like The Star Sisters, I can see why they would choose to knock 'em out in one box set rather than trickle 'em out over the years. I am sort of expecting when the time comes for Rokkon, Stonedar, and Granita that we're going to see them handled similarly- in a single box set with snap on rock attachments and one weapon each. If this is the way it needs to be done in order to also get Entrapta, Double Trouble, Modulok, and Quakke into the line, I can get behind it.

ok... Why is Vykron being packaged in a box big enough to hold 3 complete figures? Sorry, this makes no sense. Why not just package him in a slightly bigger package than usual to accomidate the extra crap accessories?

Matty seems to get the collectors. Only the true hard-core spenders at SDCC will be getting these....to start off with. For me, this figure, as so many others have said, just seems too much like a child's toy....I say meh, I'll pass.

I was sold on this exclusive the moment I saw it announced, especially when I was introduced to it earlier on through the Power and Foundation catalog.
However, I wish that it was offered also in a three full figures package so I don't have to pend $90 on it, a $60-$66 choice could've been easier to swallow for those who wanted to display all versions...

Plus if they made 3 seperate characters, they could have sculpted the differences and gave them 3 distinct bios and personalities. This figure the way it is screams cheapness IMO.

Yep- I'm really looking forward to this guy! I cannot wait for his Bio.

I may get a second set for the groovy spare parts to mess with.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

I agree, its the biggest issue I have with this exclusive, notice he didn't show us what they look like from the back. I'm sure they look awful from the the back. I would have liked all new interchangeable legs and fore arms like Tallstar.

This figure just looks cheap compared to the rest of the line.

What if Queen Marlena only had half a dress that clipped on the front, would people be ok with that?

    It also screams LOADED DIAPER!!!

That is the worst part to me. My kids already call Blast-Attak "Poo Man" for reasons unknown to me, so we don't need a second Poo Man.

My initial response to the figure was very positive until I read that OTHER thread... I have to admit reading what other fans had to say swayed me to dislike it some. But I feel better about it now that I've remembered to go with my first reaction. I dig the goofiness of the barbarians helmet, and the outlandishness of Tank Top... It's honestly just the lack of paint detailing on the space guy that bothers me. I am hoping that once I get him in hand it'll look better. Maybe there is more detailing there that's hard to pick up on in the photos and video. Does anyone know?

I suppose the term could work in this case. A holy grail figure could be one that is universally accepted as the ultimate manifestation of all the best qualities of a toy line, which Draego-Man almost is.

I've always considered the term to describe a coveted and rare figure. More "Spirt of Grayskull" than "just what I've always wanted". There is only supposed to be one holy grail.
