Even the part where he talks about how much of an "expert" he appeared to upper management? If Mattel wants a REAL MOTU expert, they are looking at the wrong hemisphere. Italy is in Europe.

Put me down for a Teela and Goddess 2.0 double pack.

    It could contain:

1 x Goddess figure with softer outfit and improved articulation, slightly retooled to more resemble her mini-comic counterpart

1 x snake armour, shield and spear in metallic / pearlised brown

1 x set of He-Man's weapons and power harness with metallic paintjob

1 x Teela 2.0 with softer outfit and improved articulation, slightly retooled to more resemble her Filmation appaearance

1 x bonus Teela head (tiara version) with blonde hair

1 x snake armour, shield and spear in red

    1 x Screech in gold

Although later figures benefit from superior articulation and materials Teela is one of the best looking females in the line for sure.

Teela for me (along with Mer-Man) is my favourite MOTUC figure hands down. Beautiful face sculpt (really puts the BG Teela face to shame), great detailing on her dress and super weapons and snake armour.
I agree, Teela is a gorgeous figure, the best female so far. I actually have her gold helmet head on my Marlena, They should paint all female heads as well as Teela... if they could do it with the first female, they can do it with all of them!

Not every positive move Scott makes is to cover something else up. Besides, there is no SDCC mess, there are just some people who don't like the choice of character and the execution of it. That's not a mess, that's perceptions and overreactions based on peoples own expectations...rather than reality.

I have to say, even with the more limited articulation, I think Teela is still one of my favorite figures and both of them in my collection are just great on the shelf (I have the original and one with the BG Teela head.) I'd definitely be up for a 2.0 version (one that could look up more would be nice too) but for now I'm very happy.

It's interesting about the patent thing on the dress. I wonder if it has something to do with the material and the application together? I don't think Giganta is a good figure to go by, though! You wouldn't want that material. It's falling apart now.

My Gigantas are fine, but you're 100% right. I would NEVER want that material in MOTUC. I just thought that was the original material they were going for.

I do agree that Teela is very nice (and I'm REALLY happy she got her Snake Armour this time around!). A Teela 2.0 would be great (with waist twist!), which could help get a Goddess 2.0 eventually. Besides giving her a blonde head or a 200X long ponytail, I'm just not sure what else they could do with a 2.0 to make her really something extra special (besides the added/fixed articulation). I'd still want one, mind you.

Teela was my first MOTUC figure. I was at first only going to do the main females like Teela, Evil Lyn, and She-ra due to the cost of the figures. But after I got Teela I was hooked, the very next day I bought He-Man and several other figures from a fellow Orger. Still to this day Teela is one of my favorite figures in the line.

I never noticed this until BG Evil Lyn, when I opened I thought there was an issue with my figure, her right lat was way bigger than her left. After checking my Teela and Evil-Lyn did I realize that is was an issue with the buck not just that one BG Evil-Lyn figure.

Both of my Giganta's dress has little cracks all over them, the small was is really bad, which sucks because I love the Giganta figures. If that was the type of plastic they were planing to use on MOTU females I'm glad it didn't come to be.

I quickly jumped on the mike and explained what the snake armor was and expressed that it is something we wanted to get to if we did a new Teela figure. Upper management was in the room at this panel and this was the first time I think they saw me as an expert on the MOTU brand and one of the reasons I was allowed to brand manage it. It has always been very important to management to have the most passionate people possible running the brands and this was the moment that I believe convinced management I was the right person to manage Classics. In a panel of professionals from both the toy and animation industry, I was the only one on the panel with a working knowledge of Teela’s vintage accessories (along with a lot more MOTU lore, mind you). But being able to demonstrate this live at a panel was a key moment for my career. Funny, the serendipitous way things often work!
Why does he always have to include this kind of self-congratulatory rhetoric? It is just flat out annoying at this point. Yes Scott, we know you have done a lot for the line. You have been thanked repeatedly, so is it really necessary to continue to fish for compliments in virtually every blog entry you write?

Very glad Teela came with the snake armor. I missed that in the 200X line, too.

I like the female characters and look forward to getting more of them. Scorpia is on the top of my list; always wanted a fig. of her back in the day. Next up would be Shakoti. Fingers crossed for SDCC reveals.

Even though she doesn't have the 2.0 buck, she's still a gorgeous figure. Easily one of my favourites of the line. Thankfully, the paint app is perfect too!

    Really enjoyed the blog.
I would love a Teela 2.0 maybe more younger looking 200x inspired Teela. with pony tail & dress repaint. Maybe through in the red snake armor too.

Is this SDCC 2007 panel available on Youtube or somewhere else?

I've missed out on this panel with 200x people. But would love to know what was asked and answered.

Superior articulation on the later figures? We lost articulation in those! BG Evil-Lyn is the one figure that has more articulation than any other female figure. I hate the 2.0 hips! If we could get a 2.0 Teela that's basically like the BG Evil-Lyn I would be very happy! As long as the face is painted! I hate that they didn't paint the BG Teela face.
