Characters that DONT deserve monthly slots.

Ok...which characters do you foresee requiring so little new tooling that they are undeserving of their own Monthly slot?

and should be Variant slots.

Strobo for sure.

Also, these could get away with just a new head and repainted parts:

Koduk Ungol
Stingrad
Ceratus

...and possibly Zilora from "The Time Corridor" who could reuse the Teela body.

Clamp Champ. Just a new head and weapon, although he'll definitely get a monthly slot.
They'll probably throw in a second accessory too.

If it's a "new" character, in other words not a variant of a previously released figure, it should be monthly regardless of tooling required. Quarterly slots should be reserved for variants of existing figures only, not for unreleased characters.

I think Clampy counts for a monthly as he has a new head scuplt (arguably the hardest part)

Strobo is a good choice since he is all retooled product.

Capt Glen tunic minus name and shoulder guards
Adora Boots, legs (or Catra legs/boots), belt and gun holster

Clamp Champ is a completely new character that has yet to be done in MOTUC. Why in the world would he get stuck into anything less than a normal monthly slot?

Icer - dudes a "buck" with a new head and new accessories. I'm sure there's others like that as well. Although I'm sure some minor details could be added to spice up characters like this. A good paint job goes a long way too! Especially those cool metallic paints they use.

I actually want a Strobo and a Icer figure, as Strobo was a fav of mine from the old comics and Icer was my fav "one shot" villain from my Filmation days.

This discussion is not about who will or will not get a monthly slot. Off course Clamp Champ deserves and will get a monthly slot. The opening post merely inquired as to which characters need no more new tooling than variants.

Exactly, The hypothesis is 'who technically shouldnt get a whole new 'slot' meaning the tooling $$$' (for eg -Sorceress,Zodak,Keldor etc)

Clamp Champ absolutely deserves his own monthly slot as he was in the original line.....Though I do hope he comes with the same Love Fisto got so as to create both 200x and the vintage look!

I don't remember if they ever actually called him Faker explicitly, but there was an episode where Skeletor created an evil He-Man duplicate. He looked exactly like He-Man but with glowing eyes (as opposed to being blue with Skeletor armor).

YEP, he was called 'Faker', but they didn't focus too much on him.

As for the rest... This thread seems based on the idea that 'varient and Monthly' slots have different budgets.

That was true for Goddess and Zodak... but the rules changed. Now Quarterly slots get just as much new tooling as Monthly slots... Look at Thunder punch He-man or Even Battle Armor... they got a TON of parts on them.

Yes in one episode the magical Skeletor version was called Faker, but he was identical to He-Man....MAA built another "Faker" (a robot this time, but never actually named) in another episode, but that one wasn't evil.

I beg to differ on that one, but I'd personally settle for heads, same with Mer-Man. But actual figures would be cool, Skeletor more than He-Man though, but they could also be done as out of sub bonus figures like BP She-Ra was.
