Very interested in this "Celebrate the 100th Figure" comment.

How will the 100th figure be determined?

Are they going by humanoids, or beasts too?

Mattel has to get the most out of the Wind Raider tooling plus they need to sell more to make up for initioal costs. That's why they are making more and I'm sure the price will be gouged up even higher.

When TG said that it only sold ok, What he meant to say was. Mattel didn't make back enough money to cover the costs of tooling, etc. Essentially, Mattel lost money on the Wind Raider and they are trying to make up for it.

I wish profit wasn't the only way they measured success. Breaking even on a Battle Ram would be just fine! They are spoilt by the heavy parts sharing in this line and it's becoming a burden to the consumer because it seems that they don't want to produce anything unless they can sell it to us 5 different ways.

As a business owner myself, I can tell you that breaking even on a project would be FAR from fine.

    Exactly !!!!

if they made 5000 units and it sold out in 3 days vs 20,000 Units that sell out in 1 day, that is the difference they both sell out but you need to have the numbers to match the time frame.

But I thought TG said the time it takes for items to sell is not important.

It sold out regardless of how many they made --- So I'd have to say that's a, "Slam Dunk, pretty cool huh." situation.
If Mattel thinks it only did "O" "K"... Than that's Mattel's own fault. Next time make more and sell them at a higher price instead of blaming the customers for WR's "O" "K" sales.

I understand what you mean, but you can't compare our small businesses to their enormous one. It's not like they have three projects this year and I'm suggesting they break even in one of them. I'm suggesting they break even on one vehicle one time in their tiny, tiny toy line that pays for itself many times over. They act like every member on their payroll will have to eat stale bread for a month if they make another vehicle.

I will agree that Mattel will not take "breaking even" very well... They won't consider another vehicle if they aren't making profit from it. But as always, I think what is said by Mattel is usually BS. I'm sure they made a nice profit from the Wind Raider --- but since Mattel is greedy, It will never be enough profit. Seriously, If the Wind Raider did that bad, why would they make Granamyr?

That would depend on if the business was looking at it from an accountant's perspective or an economist's perspective.

New stuff was posted--with more on the way!

Looks like Mosquitor was just confirmed for September!

And we're going to find out more about that MAA/Clamp Champ fight--could this be a hint that CC is coming in 2012?

September (3rd) Quarterly Variant Reveal ???

Last year, fans were able to know the 3rd quarterly variant (Hurricane Hordak) way before SDCC. Will it be the same case for this year ? Will it be revealed along with September figure ?

Possibly. We don't have a final figure yet as we needed to rework one of the accessories which was assmebled incorrectly during the sculpt stage.
So is he saying the 4H screwed up the accessory? Seems kind of late to notice that something was sculpted wrong.

I know Tg has said before the road map contains the MOTU, POP and NA figures that had a figure before but this line:
The only figures we will confirm slotted in are all the vintage figures from MOTU, POP and NA. Beyond that, you will need to wait and see what surprises are in store!
kind of makes the "if and when we get to him/her" stuff jibberish in regards to such characters as Jitsu that he used the line on before.

Not really. A road map means what is planned, not what is actually produced. Mattel wants to get to all of the old figures and it really isn't a new revelation. However, the "if and when" comments come from the idea that the line could die somehow before those figures get produced.

Uh oh....I'm a little bit scared now that this figure might not be New Adventures Skeletor....as I can't think of an accessory that could be wrongly assembled...

perhaps it will be dragon blaster skeletor after all (seeing as his accessory would be quite complicated)

    oh noes!

It totally could be Dragon Blaster Skeletor. Would make sense seeing as TP He-Man was just released and they were originally issued simultaneously in the vintage line. They did the same thing earlier for the Battle Armor Classics figures.

I could see this. Whenever there is a brand new part, there seems to be a greater chance of mis-assembly.

I also thought this. Was this a big hint that Clamp Champ will come out in late 2012? I would think that he would be a relatively easy figure to do - kinda' like Snout Spout in 2011.

Is anyone else scared by the "dramatically increase prices" comment?

no... I'm guessing we might find more out in the mini-comics. Snake MAA is shown in a panel in the first mini-comic.

Disgusted is more the word. I can deal with the Sub prices being $22 and the day-of being $25, but they can't go higher than that.
A Want List of Sorts: Angella, Sssqueeze, Blast Attack, Multi-Bot, Peekablue, Veena, Calix, Evilseed, Mara, Point Dread & The Talon Fighter... and all the other POP & NA characters.
