As a young 90's kids (I was born on 88), My brother just flipping on Ride the Lightning and Master. I didn't have any chance listen to Mindcrime or anything, or listen to other Big 4 music. But most snippet from the 80's are definitely Glam Metal, some pop music with overused Reverb. That Kokomo song by Beach Boys. and I think it's Eternal Flame.

8 tracks were produced untill 1988. You could buy them on those T.V. offers all the time. Beta tapes were also mid-late 80s...my grandma had a bunch of cartoons for us on Beta. Sony was a big pusher until the late 80s too....it was the 80s version of HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray only in that case Sony didn't win.

I love hearing my fellow cassette hate. Actually I hate it so much that when I bought a 100 percent stock DeLorean a few years back I didnt even care, I cut out the cassette radio. Thats how you know analogue is my enemy.

Now this I disagree with. I was reading some articles about this as well, it seems most have your point of view. I still like to make mix CDs. It is easier to burn the CD than to remember to unhook the iPod from my car, hook it up to the computer, load up a playlist, put it back in car, etc. I definitely still appreciate the cd player in my car. That is the only place I use one though (for music).

I would agree with you if we are talking about DVDs with mp3s on them. I could fit almost my whole collection of commonly-listened to music on just one DVD. Can't fit squat on a CD

    Edit:

It's not that big of a deal for me to bring my mp3 player to the car because I pretty much live and sleep with it.
Think this thing has seen some action over the past couple of years? LOL.

*Having to adjust the tracking in my old VHS player, some times it didn't even help. Or when it made a mess with the tapes and I had to find a way to untangle it all.

*The time it took for my Commodore 64 to load some games. It wasn't uncommon that I would start loading a game, leave to do other stuff for a while (like protecting Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor), come back 30 minutes later to find out there was an error while loading, start again, come back half an hour later, and finally play a couple of minutes until it asked for diskette #2 (which was usually the same diskette, only the unit couldn't read both sides and you had to flip it).

However, I'm with Count Marzo regarding the time machine, I'd be happy to go back to the 80's, be it back to childhood or as an adult. I love that decade, I'd gladly suffer whatever annoyances we had back then.

I don't miss going to the library to research every little thing. Now I get all that information off my smartphone.

Now see that totally makes sense. My problem -- I have a specific mp3 player for my car (my old iPhone 3G in airplane mode). So it just stays in the car where as my iPhone 4 is what comes with me everywhere, etc. I also have a shuffle for when running. Too many mp3 players!
