I would deff do it all again. I've only had a few issues which is the same as any product I buy 100s of item of. If I did have so many problems that I would go back and stop myself collecting in 2008, i'd just stop collecting right now and enjoy what I had brought.

Nice to see so many positive replies in this thread compared to what's usually on the boards.

There's no doubt in my mind that I would subscribe all over again! If that many of us were unhappy with the line, then there would be no message to send back since the line would not have lasted this long...

Also, I would include in my message:
-Denver is going to get Peyton Manning (!!!!!!)
-There is still no MOTU videogame!
    -Ace is going to die!

As much complaining I do on Matty, I'd still sub again. The cool figures outweigh the problems I've had by far.

I sort of love this thread. As passionate and critical as we all can be at times—which, to a certain point should be expected—I think this shows the true heart of the forum and the true love the VAST majority of us have for MOTU Classics specifically.

This is a really interesting question. As much as I love MOTU, and I do love many of the figures we have gotten, I can't say I would sub again. I think I would've saved myself a lot of frustration if I would've just stayed as a cherry picker. Mattel has really done some shady things during the course of this line, and I can't say that I would reward them by committing myself like this again.

In a heart beat, I love this line and the sub has been good to me. Despite a few hicups I now have the ultimate MOTU figures. Im actually very happy with the line as a whole. Sure I could have done without the Star Sisters gettung rammed down my throat and I would love to have a fully defect free line (looking at you cracking Roboto), but all in all the line is near perfect for me. If I get a Two-bad, Strongarm and Ramman before it all ends I will go to sleep happy with this. Great sculpts, a vehicle some big beasties and a giant or three, heck I got a Shadow Weaver, I never thought we would see her. What more could I ask for from a toy line today. I only wish Thundercats had gotten this lucky.

It's a tough one. It's sadly a story of a great product, mired by horendous QC and even more abysmal customer service.

That said, I probably would have leapt in early and done what I'm doing now- source it through a local toy dealer with a subscription, pay $35 instead of $30 for the figures and save myself a mountain of hassle.

All my nostalgic favorite figures have been done as of this month with Stinkor and who knows, if the line can survive the behemoth sized mountain of incomptence from Digital River this year, maybe I'll get the vehicles I want too.

It's a tough call and a sorry state of affairs when you have to even ask this about such an awesome toyline because of everything that happens to it past the design stage (including the initial sculping stage before Mattel makes any final changes) that is just so utterly woeful though.

I would definitely do it over again with one small change: I'd make sure I started back at the beginning so I didn't have to play catch-up from He-Ro on back. This way, I'd have saved by not having to shop evilBay or waiting for re-issues. This line has been great to me with offering updates on old favorites, mixing everyone of the factions together, and creating new never-before-seen figures for us to enjoy. Don't know as I'd do the subscriptions from the beginning though, but I might.

I would do it again. The few minor issues I have had can not stop me from subscribing over and over again. I love my Classics and will enjoy them as long as the will last.....and beyond.
Maybe Marzo as an archenemy was the biggest thing to happen to Mekaneck, but as far as Marzo was concerned...it was Tuesday.

I can't agree more. While there have been some QC issues in the past, and definitely some rough edges around DR and Matty.com, it is just awesome to hear how many people would do it all over again.

As I said in my previous post, if so many people really were that upset with the line, then it could not have lasted this long. I hope we continue to see MOTUC for many years to come (at least 'til 2016) because that is a sign of the fan's loyalty.

No matter which way you cut it, MOTUC is a fantastic line of figures that most He-Fans have wanted since "Masters of the Universe" was first coined. Let's continue to support the franchise that gives us so much happiness.

I think I would have NOT got on board but only bought a few at a time when I needed something. Simple reason is TF's are and have been coming out and I have missed a aweful lot of those. Plus I think I would have just got a few and then got out of the game.

Well this is a tough one. Back in the early days, we were all frustrated with the infamous Red Screen of Death things where Matty / DR's servers would literally overload at release hour and often we'd end up frustrated, either waiting to order for over an hour, or to finally get in only to find that our desired item(s) had sold out. And of course, there were infamous debacles such as Mer Man's release, where a "technical fault" prevented international customers being able to order anyway.

So the subs seemed like the dream solution. But of course, with DR involved, they weren't. Lost ... delayed ... faulty orders... became a nightmare. Moreso, many months saw numerous and sometimes large items being released. Whilst everything being sent in one package is a dream from US collectors, for international fans it's truly a nightmare, as it means the packages nearly always get stung heavily for customs - as well as being held up for several weeks as they are processed. I didn't really like having to pay out huge sums on customs alone each month, sometimes to get packages that half of the items I didn't even really want anyway.

I always hoped that the subs would become more flexible (ie. options just to have the "main monthly figure" with no extras; more flexible overseas shipping options, etc.), and basically that DR would pull their socks up. Sadly it didn't happen, which is why this month I reluctantly jumped ship from all of my subs, planning to get whatever figures I do want by other means from now on.

Would I collect the line again? Yes, without a doubt. There's the odd dodgy choice of character (and the bios are a matter of taste), but I love the line and what its doing. The business end of things is totally another matter.

On board to the very end. I wouldn't changed a thing. Actually, to be honest, I wish I would of decided to become a cherry picker before I got the 2012 sub. Oh well, Shadow Weaver looks awesome next to Hordak.

I wouldn't do it the same. This is my first year with a sub and it saves me so much money. Everything before 2012 came through ebay with crazy prices.

No. I would have been a cherry-picker all the way. I've been a sub-holder since they were offered, but due to obvious reasons I'm just fed up with everything and it's become more of a hassle than anything to collect this line. I won't be re-newing my sub for 2013, or any year after for that matter.

    I wouldn't have purchased 2 subs.
    I have doubles of EVERYTHING.
Which reminds me, I need to list a lot of 1st issues.
