Wow, this gets hard, been some good movies in this category over the last few years!

    1. Spider-Man 2 - Perfect. Spidey, Doc Ock, everybody. Spot-on in every way, my favorite superhero movie.
    2. Superman 2 - You can't beat Christopher Reeve in the role as Superman. Period.
    3. Iron Man - What a phenomenal movie! RDJ IS Tony Stark!
    4. X-Men First Class - I wasn't expecting much with this but holy cow. And the best role I'd seen for Kevin Bacon in a long time.
    5. Blade II - Couldn't count the number of times I've watched this. Del Toro is THE MAN.
    6. Hellboy II The Golden Army - Speaking of Del Toro...
    7. Spider-Man - Willem Dafoe steals the show here, but the whole movie was good solid fun.
    8. Thor - I almost hate to put it so low on the list but it keeps very very good company! Bring on Thor 2!
    9. Captain America: The First Avenger - If you need a villain, put Hugo Weaving in the role. Also had me cheering for the USA and I'm not an American.
    10. The Dark Knight. Only so low on my top 10 because I have a hard time considering it a "superhero" movie. It's more of a good movie than anything else.
    I'm Quacktacular!

    1) Tank Girl
    2) Thor
    3) X-Men
    4) Superman II
    5) Superman
    6) Supergirl
    7) Batman (The Jack Nickolson one)
    8) Hellboy
    9) The Incredibles
    10) Iron Man

I realize Tank Girl is on a lot of people's worst list, and I think everyone involved with it hated it, but I still think it's awesome. It has Lori Petty, Naomi Watts, and Malcolm McDowell in it for goodness sakes.

I'm guessing this is the best even though the topic creature seems to have his best list in the worst.

    1. The Dark Knight
    2. The Avengers
    3. Batman Begins
    4. Thor
    5. Iron Man
    6. X-Men First Class
    7. Spider-Man
    8. Kick-Ass
    9. Captain America
    10. Blade

If I counted them as super hero movies, V for Vendetta would be #4 and The Watchmen would be #6, but they aren't.

I can see not calling V a superhero movie, but how is Watchmen not?

Because there is nothing super heroey about it. I love the movie, I really enjoyed the comic, but outside of the scene when Silk Specture and Nite Owl are rescueing the people from the burning building, nothing in it shows anyone being a super hero. Sure, they were once super heroes, but it is a drama about super heroes rather than an action story about super heroes. A story about super heroes are people who are saving others throughout the entire story. Watchmen is more like RED, where it has former heroes trying to save themselves from being killed by whatever means possible. Do you get what I am saying?

    1) The Mask- adapting the original comics would have been tricky so instead of sort of getting it right with a lot of changes, they just rebuilt the story from the ground up. and it spawned one of the greatest cartoon series of all time.
    2) Batman 89- it was perfect. They got the Joker right, Batman right, everything right. How Burton failed so miserably with Returns, I have no idea.
    3) Ghost Rider- it would be impossible to do this character better
    4) Hellboy- thank del Toro for fighting the idiot executives who wanted to make changes
    5, 6) X-Men 1 & II- do I need to explain?
    7) Superman- the absolute legend of comic book films
    8) Superman II- Despite a few mis-steps I think it did mostly well and gave us some decent villains that weren't "Lex Luthor" or "convenient chunk of kryptonite" or "he's not immune to magic for whatever reason".
    9) Blade II - the first was decent but the second picked up the pace a lot better
    10) Hulk- they focused more on the character, less on "break stuff".

Best is Avengers by far, but my opinion is somewhat skewed since I don't go to see very many movies. I saw Green Lantern, liked it ok, but Avengers, nothing can beat that in my mind.

    1) The Dark Knight - Perfect
    2) Iron Man 2 - Spot on
    3) Batman Returns - Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman AND Christopher Walken. End of story.
    4) Batman Forever - Love the villains in this one. Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face FTW. Drew Barrymore and Debi Mazar as Sugar & Spice.
    5) X3 - Do you know who I am???
    6) X2 - Nightcrawler!!!
    7) X-Men: First Class - Just a well-done movie overall
    8) Iron Man - A great movie, I just had to rank it lower b/c IM2 was so good
    9) Thor - Beautiful visuals and an entertaining story. I still laugh about Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings drooling over Thor.
    10) Batman - Came out when I was a year or two too young to appreciate it, otherwise it might be higher.

I haven't seen The Avengers yet, so I'm reserving the right to modify my list after this weekend

The posts were started by two different people.

    my list
    Thor
    Superman II Donner Cut
    Captain America (first avenger)
    Iron Man
    X-men First Class
    Batman 89
    Batman Begins
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    The Incredibles
    Scott Pilgrim

    I haven't seen Avengers yet

Movies like Green Lantern, Spider-man, Spider-man 2, X-men (1.5), X2 didn't make it because of some of the flaws they have in them but they are movies I watch when I can. I few others fall into this list also.

I can see that. With that reasoning, I'd probably have put Judge Dredd on my list as well. Even though it has Rob Schneider in it & is despised by fans of the comic since he takes his helmet off, I liked it. It had cool action, a post apocalyptic cannibal family right out of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and giant robots.

    1 - 2. It's a tie between Thor and The Incredible Hulk, can't pick a favorite.
    3. Batman (1989).
    4. The Avengers.
    5. Iron Man II.
    6. Captain America.
    7. Iron Man.
    8. Batman Returns.
    9. Spider-Man.
    10. Spider-Man II.

Numbers 4 to 10 may change depending on which day you ask me.

    1. Iron Man
    2. The Avengers
    3. X-2
    4. Spider-Man 2
    5. TMNT (1990)
    6. The Dark Knight

The Crow is another movie I'd have put on my list if this was the Top 10 Comic Book Movies. That first film was great with an amazing soundtrack.
