I always loved Little Bear, which had a different author, but illustrations by Sendak.

Very, very sad news. I always had respect for his work, but I was enchanted by the man when I saw him on the Colbert Report. He really was funny, sharp and humane.

Awww, damn! I loved that book when I was a kid. I remember being excited when I finally took it out of the library.

RIP, Sendak. I loved your illustrations.
