this gives me hope that it wil be good. still I won't pay full price for this one. Just in case. I believe personally McFarlane CAN be funny when ready, but for me he falls so much into the easy joke trap so I don't want to risk a lot of money on something I'm MILDLY interested in. Hoping I walk away from it with my mind blown (in comparison to my expectations)

I saw it yesterday, and it was enjoyable. It's an above average comedy that can be a little slow at times, but then you get some over the top hilarity that can give you convulsions if you're not careful. I'd recommend it if you like Family Guy, but if you don't, you probably won't enjoy it. If you have kids that aren't teenagers, I'd advise against taking them because there is a lot of profanity and one quick scene with some female nudity. Oh, and if you like the Flash Gordon movie, you're in for a treat.

I can't imagine you liking it after all the things you've said before seeing it.

The movie is also FULL of random references to tons of things.

Ted is totally Mr. Floppy from the Unhappily Ever After TV show. It's hard to find clips I can post here, because Mr. Floppy is kind of...controversial. This one should be okay though:

Wow, there are so many random references in this movie, I had no idea there was an Airplane reference scene for scene.

I saw this yesterday. I enjoyed it. There would definately some very hilarious moments.

I did drag a little bit here and there. IMO it should have been 20 to 30 minutes shorter, but it was still good overall.

I thought it was a decent flick. It was funny in parts, but did drag a bit in places. I don't think the whole subplot with the super fan and his son was necessary.

If it had been 45 minutes long it would have been great. At two hours it drags, repeats too many gags, and just falls apart by the end. I'm glad I saw it. The funny stuff was very funny. I just wish they'd snipped a lot out. The stalker fan and son part wasn't funny. Joel McHale (who I usually like) was trapped in a PAINFULLY unfunny and flat role too.

Mr. Floppy had character. Ted was just more tasteless Seth McFarlane humor. I'd take a Floppy over a Ted.

It was a pretty awesome movie. All the Flash Gordon stuff alone made it worth it. <3<3<3<3<3

see these are the things I'm concerned about, he does it in family guy a lot, scene for scene reshots of pop culture stuff, and lots of times it drags and isn't funny. a friend of mine saw this and loved it though, but many times I don't buy into his tastes (he loved hangover 2 which I thought sucked donkeys)

I am leaning more towards seeing it so I can see for myself if I like it, but I won't pay more than matinee for it, but I work all day too. ah the dilemmas. lol

    EDIT

Saw it, didn't HATE it but it wasn't great.

I expected almost all of the jokes, it was basically everything I thought it would be. It was also too long, I laughed out loud maybe twice (my favourite part was when Mila Kunis calls Ted's GF a c-word and Marky mark reacts so offended. )

The whole b story with Giovani Ribisi was completely unnecessary and did nothing but give a reason for ted to "die" the family guy reference wasn't funny just felt like one of those awkward self-deprecating jokes used tomake a lame excuse for something you know you shouldn't have done. all in all 3/10. as much as I didn't think it would be good, I came away disappointed that it wasn't.
