2013 - The Year of Filmation?

Yay to that! Since I first saw him so many years ago, I could not help but wonder about him. What's uder his mask? Is he a cyborg? Is that his "real" arm? I'm sure, sooner or late, we'll be getting him indeed. I just hope that a) unlike some (otherwise rather cool) customs of him I've seen floating around he DOES NOT have a hairy chest and b) he comes with an extra weapon, a blaster maybe?
We'll see!!! And yeah, bring in all filmation crew: Batros, Shokoti, Lord Masque, Fangman, Icer and the traitor horde general from pop spring to mind, but i'm sure there are others as well.

That Mattel would plunk down the cash for the Filmation license and NOT do something like this is a bit silly to me.

The only two things that would stop me from wanting a Filmation sub-line would be the "drastic" price increase which, depending on how drastic, may put a damper on my buying even the main line, and if they filled it with variants.

There are dozens of cool looking, fan-favorite Filmation characters that people have been dreaming about since before I joined this board. Why anybody would want to slow or stop the release of never-before made characters so they can have a differently colored figure they already have two of is beyond me.

Yes to a Filmation sub, but keep the quarterly variants in the main line, not here!

I don't want a TONNE of filmation only characters but I can safely say there are many I'd want. (mind you I'm thinking more MOTU than PoP but I want some from both)

I hope the number of people saying they would buy a Filmation sub and not a 2013 sub doesn't force Mattel to NOT have a Filmation sub and then fill half of the standard 2013 sub with Filmation figures.

That said, I would LOVE a Filmation addon sub!!!

I've just said this from day 1 : mini sub-filmation characthers only, its the smartest way to go. I mean I'll be on board for 2 subs next year (1 regular + 1 filmation), and if all the org fans follow me this will lead to more business for matty !

I personally would like to see all toy-vintage characters (motu/na/pop) before the end of 2015, and possibly 15+ filmations like scorpia, madame razz, shokoti, lord masque, general sunder, huntara and many more ; after them I'll be ok with this line

A Filmation sub-line would be like some kind of beautiful dream. I hope this rumour becomes reality because I would gladly go all-in on a Filmation sub for next year.

I'd likely subscribe to a Filmation sub, so long as we don't get characters that appeared for 10 seconds in one single episode... but a Filmation sub would be the only sub I'd subscribe to. Just way too much in the main sub I don't want.

I doubt it would be some no-name throw aways. If its a sub it will most likely be 6 figures (like the 30th) and they could easily do something like Seahawk, Scorpia, Lizard Man, Shokoti, Mara and Master Sebrian (if we are considering Filmation Rights = Filmation & Jetlag) while still leaving at least 2-3 years of this type of sub

I would totally buy into a Filmation Sub, depending on cost of course. I think their best bet, if they intend on it being a one shot deal, is to offer a vote on which figures people want to see and make the top ones.

I agree I don't want NA characters in a Filmation sub. The NA characters can be included in the regular line like they have been so far.

I'd be in for a few NA characters - Crita, Mara and Master Sebrian. That's it really... I'm not after ALL Filmation characters (anyone who knows me knows how lame I find Strongarm...), but the bulk of the popular ones would rock my world. I guess there would be some duds from all corners, but the very prospect of a Filmation sub has me bouncing off the walls!

I'd be fine with that. It's like the "cartoon figures" sub.

These are the NA ones I can think of:

- NA Adam
- NA Sorceress
- Mara (two heads, robe to go over her bathing suit outfit...could work)
- Crita (she needs two figures to get both looks, I think)
- Master Sebrian & Gleep
- Drissi & Caz
- The Scientists as a complete set
- Aquata & UR
- NA Teela
- Gatto (maybe)
- Werban (he's annoying, but kind of one of the main villains)
- 2 Gleanons (can be pack-ins with different characters)
- 2 Galactimytes (can be pack-ins with different characters)

Those are ALL the important NA cartoon characters. Well...Aquata isn't really "important." She's Hydron's sister and looks cool. She's a hero too...just not part of the Galactic Protectors. I like her.

This would be my concern as well. One or both of Madame Razz and Scorpia would absolutely be required in the first year of a Filmation sub for me not to be upset with the selection.

Honestly, I think that the ONLY Filmation characters that Mattel will do are the ones that people want. This line has a limited lifespan and there are LOTS of Filmation-only characters that they could make. I could easily see two-years worth of Filmation-subscription figures containing nothing but A and B listers.

I doubt Scott would make a sub that's all female. Remember, "Females don't sell!"

If they did make a sub devoted to Filmation. I would like to see it consist of 3 popular character and 3 that are wanted. But otherwise would probably not be made cause they 're not part of the wanted! This way we could get them!
