the only game i dislike enough to call "the worst" is tactical RPG hoshigami: ruining blue earth. i was psyched when i first heard about the game. it was the same genre as my then favorite game: final fantasy tactics. i bought the game as soon as it came out and then realized what a mistake it was. this game was impossible to figure out! the magic system, the spirit worship system (which governed stats), and the session system (which would allow for group attacks) were all convoluted. i don't recall if there was any type of in-game tutorial, but the manual did nothing to explain how to properly play the game. it didn't help that the game was crushingly difficult from the get-go. it took several attempts to beat even the first battle, and even then it was by the skin of my teeth. i never got past the second battle. i would go on to complain that any dead characters are dead for good and can only be replaced by level 1 recruits, but i didn't get far enough for it to matter.
i still have this game though. it serves as a reminder to thoroughly research a game before buying.
stupid game.
