"Darksmoke and Fire" made me mad
Are the writers of She-ra sadistic?
Adora was headed back to visit her family and it was ruined.
She spent the entire episode a 1000 years in Eternia's past.
Then she goes straight back to Etheria without seeing her brother, mom, dad, Man-at-Arms, Teela, The Sorceress, and Orko.
How dare the Filmation writers play and toy with our emotions like this.
It's obvious at the end of the episode Adora bypassed her trip back home because she spent too much time away from Etheria.
All her vacation days were used up on that trip into the past.
It broke my heart. I wanted to see her roaming around the royal palace grounds (eg. courtyard) with Adam and her family and loved ones back on Eternia.
Is this too much to ask?

They probably needed an excuse to bring back Granamyr and so the writers decided to send Adora to Preternia. I do agree completely about Adora at least spending an episode or two at home on Eternia.

I like to think she did between episodes.

Original poster - you've gotta let these things go.

I think I obsess about Adora because she is such a beautiful, sympathetic character. I just wanted to see the best for her. I didn't want to see her suffer or have a hard life.

Let it go, man, let it go, although I'm sure you already have in some respects!

Adora is the girl that I never got.
I guess that's why I Iove her so.

I thought it was a fantastic episode.

I would have much rather seen Adora visit Adam and her family at the royal palace.
That to me would have been much more satisfying after being scarred by the ending of "The Secret of the Sword".
I wanted to see more scenes like He-man and She-ra and Orko hanging out together in the palace courtyard like at the end of "Horde Prime Takes a Holiday".

Hopefully you got over it and are no longer scarred.
By the way, do you like any episodes like The Rock People or The Crystal Castle or Troll's Dream with the Trolls in?

I wish every episode, or every other episode, would have been a crossover episode with half of them being Adora going to Eternia and the other half with Adam going to Etheria.
