Activity Stream

What all does the new Activity Stream feature do/what is its purpose?

I've kind of gotten an idea from exploring what it displays on our profile pages and it shows up when one clicks "New Posts" but I was curious if I was missing anything or if this was a step towards an end result the boards are moving towards.

It's a new feature of the upgrade that shows current activity. I'm not terribly familiar with it myself.

it looks like it's a thread version of new posts - new threads.

i'm just glad you can now select new posts from new post view. i just hope the double post merge function comes back.

It really seems to have improved our user CP pages, you can check activity from your posts or your friends' posts, subscriptions is still there in a tab.

*edit Hmm, it turns out you can see all of a users recent posts on their member pages as well as their friends on their friends list.
You can see Tar Swamp posts on members pages now too, but maybe that's only if it has been unlocked. (?)
