I was freaking out today because I haven't had a chance to start my video! I went to Mill Creek's site (the link Jukka posted) to see if you could submit the video up to the end of the day and discovered the deadline has been extended AGAIN to June 29th! Woo!

I'm still aiming for June 22nd, but it's good to have another week.

Ugh. Firefox and Safari don't have an upload monitor (or do they?). Anyone have any tips on how to monitor the upload?

It takes time, to upload. Turn everything else off. (like all those pirated movies)

It will eventualy show a new confirmation page. (or your computer will set on fire (Im not sure which))

Alright, I used Google Chrome which had an upload monitor in the status bar. I left it and got the Submission Completed notification!! Hope mine gets selected!!! It was so hard to cut it down to 2:59... my friend has way too much He-Man stuff.

yay! i pulled something together and just sent it in... included my thoughts, some of my collection, and my girls! was kinda fun... it would be awesome for me and them if anything we sent got used! i thought it would be easy to send something short, even though you guys were saying otherwise, but i too had a hard time trimming it down to 2:59. my file size was only around 46MB... is that weird? (taken with my hd videocam, with i think the setting at 640 X 480??) anyway, it uploaded in like 5 to 10 minutes, and i got the confirmation message! good luck everyone!

I sent in a video. I just recorded myself talking about MOTU and various aspects of it. Then I slashed and burned it down to under 3mins. I guess I'll post in on youtube after the deadline. I might also reedit it. I really hacked it down to make it fit.

I talked about He-Man as a kid, the cartoon, my He-Man birthday.
I talked about how there was a MOTU poster on the wall of my dorm room which made it into a campus tour video for Millersville University (included a clip).
I showed off some of my Filmation Cel collection
I showed of my Classics Collection
and a few other things

Sadly, I'm not sure if I will get my video submitted in time. it's all filmed and fully edited, but Sony Vegas has been crashing for the last 9 hours! Luckily, I got the first 3/4 to render on its own. Worst case scenario, I will try rendering the end...and then put those TWO files in a new project and try again. First time using my new editing software too. Fun times. Lol

Still crashing. Do you think I could send both files and explain they need to be combined? Lol

Okay...by some miracle, my video FINALLY was rendered. Starting the upload and it's still not at 1%. This is going to be a LONG day.

That's cool Jukka! My video is 15% sent right now. I wanted to re-do my last voice over, but with the software crashing, being up for 2 straight days and my tempermental internet....I couldn't risk it!

If my video gets chosen, I hope everyone's kind with their words. I did some silly things to make people laugh, which I might regret later on.

Probably. You never know though. The Xena anniversary set featured fans for quite a bit and they even included the best fan re-enacted scenes!

Everyone talking about home long it took to upload has me worried that mine didn't go up right because it only took a few minutes. Like dealing with youtube. I'm pretty sure there was a confirmation screen at the end.

I think it all depends on your file size and internet speed.

I need some serious help/suggestions guys! My upload crapped out at about 52%. My file size was 493 MB and an mp4 file. Is there any way I can cut the file size in half while keeping it HD? I'm devestated my upload didn't go through. I have worked way too hard on this to not get my submission in.

That's true. I made mine in Windows Movie Maker... so it was easy to upload but will look bad on the DVD! The upload page is still on their site. I wonder if people can still upload. They may cut it off because people missed the deadline, but as long as they have it before they start editing they might take them late.

As Jukka posted, they are allowing submissions through the weekend even though they listed the 29th as the cutoff. If it is only uploading about 50%, one could always cut the video down to half its length in order to keep it in HD. There is nothing that says it has to be close to 3 minutes in length, only that it has to be under 3.

It's working for me. 17% so far!

I actually found another rendering process that allowed the video to have almost the same quality level, but is half the file size. I'm estimating it should be fully uploaded in 4 more hours. *fingers crossed* I will be sure to comment on their facebook page when it's done too, just to be safe. Lol

Buzzchuck: My Fright Zone puppet was dried out completely in the basement and I was really sad. I filmed all my 80's playsets in the front yard for a few hours (in the sun) and it FIXED my puppet! It's soft, supple and is like brand new (I mean, besides the cracks it already had). So, I recommend to have it in the sun for a little bit. I'm SO happy with the accidental results! So, even if I don't get in the documentary...doing the video fixed my puppet which is a good prize.

I'm sure they will contact winners by phone or e-mail. We have to sign an agreement if we are chosen. This is from the Terms & Conditions:

In the event that the Clips are chosen for inclusion in the Program, Mill Creek will send Owner a more formal license agreement and an appearance release which must be signed by Owner and returned to Mill Creek before the Clips will be incorporated into the Program.

That's crazy and goes against all logic... that the sun would undry-rot something.. but I'm willing to try it.
