Quick question about the griffins

Were evil warriors ever shown using griffins for transport when Beast Man was not around? I'm basically wondering if they needed Beast Man there to control the animals or if any evil warrior could command them.

I can't recall other Evil warriors calling upon the Griffins. As we all know one of Beast Mans abilities is to be able to control animals/monsters. I think it would have been very underwhelming if anyone could call upon say a Griffin or Shadow Beast. But maybe you could think of it like the movie Avatar(w/ the Dragons) where a person has to become one w/ the beast/animal. Then there is only 1 master they will follow. But hey let the mind go wild b/c it's your own MOTU canon to decide too. Later....

Yes they did if I recall. Skeletor tells the ABC Giants to go summon the steeds, the griffins and then we see Skeletor riding one as they approach Castle Grayskull with a leash around its mouth. I'd say Beast Man still controls them individually and telepathically but they are beasts that have been tamed and I think any Evil Warrior can ride one without a problem.

I remember Evil Warriors riding on Griffins in MVC comic Volume 2, Issue 2 I think.
And Skeletor drains Beast Man of his life-force to repair some gadget.

They still use Griffins after Beast Man basically was knocked out. (if memory serves me correctly)
