How did I not know about this awesome show? I think it's cool that your friends are so willing to play around with the She-Ra concepts, and on camera no less! Very neat group of folks. And the costumes are lookin' very good too! Count me in.
...but WHO is the red-faced purple/blue dude in the Rebellion?? A new character, hmm?
Leech's costume is great, Grizz is hilarious and I get a big kick out of seeing Shadow Weaver and Catra and Hordak up on the screen (smart costume for Hordak, by the way).
EDIT:
LOL - I just watched the footage you spliced together. A few thoughts, if you'd like to hear 'em...
A) Your friends are awesome
B) Castaspella as a guy is so LOL worthy, I love it.
C) You could go one of two ways with this thing - either emphasize the low-budget, amateur approach for laughs, or try to cut it as tight as you can.
For example: the shot where She-Ra and Bow are running down a hallway towards Catra and Griz...right now you can tell they're preparing to run down the hall because there is a pause before they actually do. If you want it to have momentum, cut it so they're already in mid-run. If you want it to be funny, go ahead and let them stand there for a second and then run
It really depends on how you want us, the viewers, to react. This is going to have a lot of potential for comedy, so choose where you want there the funny to shine.
I don't say any of this as an insult, though - I'm seriously impressed with the costumes, the character variety, everything!

DisneyBoy, you're very sweet, so I'd like to answer a couple of your quetions:
1) I'm always open to hearing opinions, good or bad. Helps me tremendously either way.
2) I took nothing as an insult, like I said I welcome any and all comments. I'm just happy you commented!
3) Yes, I have the most awesome friends ever!!!
4) The guy playing Castaspella (whose cast pic should be up soon) practically begged me to play the part. He thought it would be hilarious, which, after seeing the footage, he is!
5) The guy in the red mask is me, actually, and yes it is a new character of my own creation. Want details? Wait for the movie
6) I was trying to make the film as campy as possible, in homage to the original show. So yes the film should be quite hilarious.![]()
If you (or anyone else) have anymore questions or comments, please leave them and I'm more than happy to answer them
Until next time.....

Good god, am I behind on these or what?! I blame my insane work schedule, but I digress. This week's cast photo belongs to my favorite person in the whole world. He is the man who supported me 100% in doing the movie, and was gracious enough to play a role in it. He is the love of my life and my soon-to-be husband, Josh Zegan. He plays the "Evil Master of Power Suction" Leech!

AwesomeYou definitely want to marry someone who is willing to dress up in that outfit.
Curious to see who your new character is, but I must take issue with the use of the word "campy" to describe the original series. Never! It was...um...high drama?
Tonight and Sunday I'll be shooting the ABSOLUTELY LAST scenes I need to complete my She-Ra movie!!! I can't wait! In celebration, I'm posting another cast picture. This time its my good friend Travis Sherman playing "The Ferocious Monster With Fur" Grizzlor! Everyone give him some love because after you've been smacked in the head 3 times by Catra, you need some love.

No completed movie yet? Awww. Boo! Hss!! I'm sitting here in the theatre with my bowl of popcorn, ready to go!
I offer my most sincere apologies to you DisneyBoy. I've started a brand new job that pretty takes my entire week away from me now.
However, I do have good news! This weekend I'm adding the ABSOLUTELY FINAL touches to the editing and the movie should be ready to go after that! To hold you, and others, over I'm posting the final 3 cast pics! So who are the final round of characters? Well, here you go:
First up is my friend, Mark Myers II who is playing "The Enchantress Who Hypnotizes", Castaspella! I want everyone to know he practically BEGGED me to play this part. As an actor, he thought playing a woman would be a great challenge. Believe me, he nailed it!
Mark-as-Castaspella.jpg
Next, is my adorable little niece, Jayne Zegan, playing the one who "Hides and sees all in Etheria", Loo-Kee! Will you be able to find where she is hiding in the movie?
Jayne-as-Lookee.jpg
Finally, is the character I created specifically for this movie. Considering I created him, who better to play him in the film than me, Chris Murphy! Who is this character? He is "The Flamboyant Etherian Rebel", Jestor. Just how does he fit into universe of She-Ra? Watch the movie and find out.

Oh, no apologies necessary - I'm being sillyI offer my most sincere apologies to you DisneyBoy. I've started a brand new job that pretty takes my entire week away from me now.Hope the new job is going well and bringing in enough money to afford at least a MOTUC sub
Loo-Kee is in the movie!?! Well now you're just spoiling usYour niece looks awesome in the outfit. Never realized how fun his duds were. And she dyed her hair to boot!
This is going to be awesome. A smile fest for sure. Please let your friends and family know there is at least one person out there in the world who is super jazzed about this, and loves that they were game for it!
Good news everyone! The movie is finished, uploaded to YouTube, and I have a premiere date: September 25th 7pm Mountain Standard Time. Why such a weird date? Figured I'd wait a week or so until after the Power-Con reveals....which I can't wait for!I'll post the YouTube link here that night and then any and all can watch and enjoy!
She-Ra Promo Pic.jpg
Also, does anyone know who I might PM to possibly get this posted on the main page so it gets more coverage? I really don't want to PM JVS3 right now. I'm sure he is beyond slammed with last minute Power-Con stuff!

Oh you tease...making me wait another couple of days! No fair! You are totally part of the Evil Horde, aren't you?
Well, have it your way - I'm sure it'll be fun![]()
This is AWESOME!!! The time and effort you and your friends have put in to this is Spectacular!!! I can't wait to watch the premiere of your She-Ra movie! You and everyone involved with this project ROCK!!!
Manny
So the premiere of the movie is next Wednesday, and I just realized I've never actually given the name of the movie. I'm calling it "She-Ra Princess of Power: Surely You Jest". Hopefully the reason behind the name will become more apparent after viewing the movie. Also before the move comes out, I just want to "manage expectations" per-say. This film was made with a hand-held camera, badly made costumes, and lots of hope LOL. I am VERY proud of how the final product turned out, I just don't want anyone expecting the movie to be on par with the cinematography of "The Wizard of Stone Mountain" or anything of that nature. I know the movie will be quite enjoyable, so take it at face value and enjoy!!!

It's time....
A fan-film over a year in the making finally makes its debut! She-Ra and her friends of the Great Rebellion are back in an all-new adventure to once again battle Hordak and his ruthless Evil Horde. "Surley You Jest" also marks the debut of a brand new character...the "Flamboyant Etherian Rebel", Jestor. But will Jestor prove to be a valuable addition to the Great Rebellion, or just the weakness Hordak needs to finally bring She-Ra to her knees?

Awesomesauce. I'll watch this bad boy sometime this weekendLove the title by the way!
Well, I’ve finally watched it…
...and boy did I enjoy! Everyone was just so game, you know? You could feel it, and it made the whole flick awesomely fun. Bow was campy and noble – you could tell the performer had seen the character on the show. He did a terrific job imitating him and yet making him his own. Same goes for Hordak, Catra and Weaver – all pretty spot-on! I didn’t even mind the new costume for Hordak, and I usually don’t go for non-Filmation Hordaks. He looked imposing and suitably pale. You could have gone the route of drawing all the lines on his face to mimic the “robot bat face” look from the show, but I’m glad you didn’t. He worked well as-is. Kinda like Skeletor from the live action movie, only with better skin!
The narrative break-down stuck to Filmation formula and worked well. Great use of music, locations, costumes…really, all of it felt very true to the original show! Be proud! Probably the only thing that was a bit out-of-place was Hordak choking She-Ra. But I did wonder how he would fight her, seeing as how he wasn’t exactly the blue-skinned shape-shifting robot guy in this version.
I even liked the Jestor character! Can’t lie – he was a bit Mary Sue-ish (he’s the reason the Rebellion starts AND he finds out Adora’s secret?), but your choice of mask was cool, and the overall costume and concept was solid. And speaking of the mask…it looked gold in the Fright Zone and then red out in the real world. I’m guessing that was just a fluke with the lighting, but I thought it was neat. Like Casta’s spell changed some element of it.
Oh, and Casta…what a ham! He was clearly enjoying himself : ) All the little looks and gestures were a hoot. He almost made it seem like Casta thought Adora and Jestor would get freaky if left alone in the tent! And then way she touched Bow? Girl’s a flirt! I suppose I should technically dock you points for having Casta just hanging around in the woods when she has a kingdom to run…but that would be nit-picking an overall wonderful fan film that was a major love-letter.
You even had LOO-KEE for pity’s sake! AND vintage commercial breaks! So yeah – I thoroughly enjoyed it. Too bad Glimmer wasn’t in camp when the Horde attacked – her friends were clearly out-numbered, and I rather liked the actress playing the role in the bar.
Please tell everyone involved how fantastic I think they are, and how their extra efforts to keep true to their characters were not lost on this viewer! And give Grizzlor my sympathies – poor guy always gets beat on by Catra, doesn’t he?
One question – I know you guys wrote the circular Jestor weapon off without much explanation, but I’m wondering…was there more to the design of it, or was it just a prop you happened to have lying around?
Major love for the “Sword to Boomerang!” moment![]()
Well done!! This was a lot of fun to watch! Nice story line, good costumes, and great special effects! Nice keeping to the Filmation formula, complete with throwback to the comercials -- and even Loo-kee! Nice work, and great that your friends were so game to do it all! Any chance we'll get another one down the road?![]()
I glad you liked it! Spread the word to other He-Fans and She-Ravers so that all can watchTo answer your question about another movie...well...while its still in the VERY early stage, I'm working on a He-Man script. My friend Serena (the woman who played She-Ra) has already laid claim to the parts of Teela and The Sorceress LOL

I hope everyone who has seen the movie enjoyed it!!! If you haven't seen it, get over to YouTube and watch it. What are you waiting for!I wanted everyone to know there is something extra coming here in a couple of days. I'm posting up a Blooper Reel from the movie. It was put together by the woman who played She-Ra herself, Serena Meile, and it is HILARIOUS. There is stuff in there that I forgot even happened. When its live on YouTube, I'll post the link here. In the meanwhile, I hope everyone is getting their Castle Grayskull playsets buy now and are thoroughly enjoying them. I know I will when mine gets here!
