I have been wanting this for a very long time mainly because Black Panther is...well AWESOME
I feel yall. His appearance in the Fantastic Four 90s cartoon wasn't enough. He rocked in the two eps of Iron Man: Armored Adventures but that wasn't enough. Did not like the version of BP they used in Ultimate Avengers. The 6 eps of his own animated series that aired in Australia is classic but I wanted more. Loving his role in Avengers EMH but has to share a lot of screen time with an incredible roster, but this!? His own live action movie!? This should be the fix.............especially if they get this guy to play him

and yes he will definitely be in Avengers 2. If they going up against Thanos they going to need all the help they can get and assistance from the most technologically advanced nation on the planet should come in handy, they really could have used Wakanda's help against the Chitari aliens in the live action movie................like they did in Ultimate Avengers 2, lolOriginally Posted by Megalodon

no it is not and that seems to be the case as it was announced the other day that the new Marvel movie they would be filming in 2014 is not BP but instead.............................Guardians of the Galaxy? Yet and still Anthony Mackie and others are showing interest in playing the role of T'challathat is not awesome

I wish they would go with Black Panther instead. I'd love to see a Guardians of the Galaxy film, but I don't see how they would be part of Avengers 2 without it being overcrowded. Black Panther on the other hand would be the perfect addition to the team, I still hope we get a Black Panther movie before Avengers 2, either by having both released in 2015 or holding the Avengers until 2016.
Also there were rumors of an Ant-Man scene after the Iron Man 3 credits which would be the other film for 2014 instead of Guardians of the Galaxy. So who knows, so far there's no official announcement, so I don't know what to believe. I'll still enjoy any addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I'm sure a Black Panther film will be released sooner or later.

The guy who plays Black Panther would not only have to be physically fit and a capable fighter (sure they could use a stunt double but those can be pretty obvious) but he also has to be able to act powerful, regal, intelligent..everything that makes Black Panther..Black Panther. You can't just stick any black guy who can kick well in a suit and call him the live action King of Wakanda
The perfect actor to play him would be either Michael Jai White or Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
My son will be psyched. He's a HUGE T'Challa fan.

I'll have to second Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. I thought he did a great job as Mr. Eko on LOST. I could see him being a great T'Challa.
I've been happy so far with castings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I hope they will continue that way and make a good choice to play Black Panther.
I'd love to see Akinnuoye-Agbaje in Black Panther, I'm a fan since his work in Oz, but I don't see him as T'Challa, he would be better in a support role or as the villain.

I don't know if his Thor role would disqualify him, but I'd love to see Idris Elba in the role. I think he could pull off the regalness that T'Challa needs to have.
Peter Mensah is probably a decade too old, but watching him in Spartacus leads me to think he'd be great as well.

That was the rumor when Thor came out it would make sense too I don't think T'challa would work for Shield...
He wouldn't have to. There is no reason Wakanda couldn't be a major plot point of a movie, with the Avengers getting involved. Basically he wouldn't have to officially join the Avengers - or at least not take orders from SHIELD.
Maybe if they just keep the helmet on Heimdall, they could get away with casting Elba twice.
Black Panther and Dr. Strange are the two Marvel characters I'd like to see next added to the shared movie universe. Of course I most of all want a Fantastic Four directed by Brad Bird, but we'll have real super heroes first.
I'm not sure about having Elba playing both roles, if they could make it work, then great.
Mensah, I agree is too old for the part, but he would make a great T'Chaka.
