Unless there's a toy miracle and they start selling and stop clogging the shelves.....I don't see this happening unfortunately. It was pretty obvious from the get go that the cartoon was there to sell toys. All the fantastic writing and great voice acting in the world doesn't matter to corporations that are relying on sales from tie ins and aren't getting any.

If it were some in-house Hasbro or Mattel property, I could see it, but Warner Bros isn't a toy company. They specialize in entertainment. They can give the license to someone else while keeping the brand out there. Besides, ThunderCats can sell all types of other things while the toys are getting done by someone else. DVDs, comics, games, books and other merchandise.

Has it really come to this? That is sad.

I think I will wait and see what SDCC brings. Hopefully Mattel has picked up the license and will co-fund the show.

Bandai has stated that they will remain with the license based on what TNI has reported.
Still , quite slow, not even 500 signatures yet in 3 days, we need to spread the word!

Don't get me wrong, I signed the petition and I like the show.....but the merchandise all around isn't selling. I've seen lots of thundercat stuff(not just toys but kid's clothing) on clearance. I know Warner Brothers doesn't make toys, but they do rely on licensing revenue and advertising dollars to fund the shows. If there isn't licensing revenue because kids aren't into it...they'll move on to a new property. That's what has been happening here. The cash cow goes dry, they buy a new cow.

Bandai isn't going to admit that anything is wrong. The house is burning to the ground and Bandai would say go back to sleep.

I think we might hear something official from SOMEONE after the final episode airs next week. No new episodes to sabotage with any bad news anymore.

I signed. It doesn't hurt to sign the petition. It hurts if you don't sign the petition, just expecting WB will continue it though.

Maybe if they release the COMPLETE first season of Thundercats on Blu-Ray and it sells well it will open the WB's eyes.

WB does NOT take petitions seriously. The soundtrack one maxed out beyond what we needed, and it did NOTHING. After I spoke to WB too it didnt matter, its what they think will make them money. The toys didnt make them money so they didnt see a reason, and wouldnt try again. Not being Debbie Downer, but before people get excited, its WB and this is how they work.

Oh man my little sister would be mad if this got cancelled. This, plus Adventure Time, is the only good shows on Cartoon Network anymore because they show crap.

I mean, what are kids suppose to watch, Spongebob? That show should have stoppped after season 3 because the episodes became bad (for crying out loud Squidward basically became the Meg Griffin of the Spongebob Universe).

    Please don't kill Thundercats.

Hey don't disrespect Spongebob. He is pure awesome. Sure there should be more shows like Thundercats and Young Justice and Avengers:EMH and yes even Adventure Time but that doesn't mean there isn't room for silly childish stuff like Spongebob

Well, I'll sign it, but this is a sign of the end. Bummer. My kids really, really like the show, too.

like I said I signed it, despite the fact that I don't actually watch the show and wouldn't really care if it got cancelled, but I also agree with the others who have said it probably won't do much good anyway

That's one of the main reasons petitions don't do anything. Because there is no guarantee of any sort associated with them. I could get 8 million people to sign a petition saying "We promise to buy the final season of Gargoyles on DVD", but there is nothing holding us to that.

Petitions show passion, but really all they are doing is saying is that the people who watch/buy/consume something will continue to do so. They in no way indiciate any kind of uptick in consumption or tell the deliveree anything they don't already know.

I wish it was different. It would be cool if fans really could "save" things they love (and yeah, there are a few nebulous exceptions like the last few seasons of "CHUCK", but there were so many mechanisms going on behind those scenes that far outweighed the fan intrest). I've gotten swept up in things. I contributed to a full page add in Variety to try to get the final season of DEADWOOD produced. I bought 10 season passes of TERRIERS on iTunes to gift to my friends to help save a bubble show. But really, unless you are able to do something that is going to 100% show a previously unforeseen method of profitability, any effort is going to fall on deaf ears.
