interesting, to say the least ...

So, they have no clue about his "communication" towards the fanbase ?

No I mean in general they have very little knowledge of the line going on PERIOD - I can't say I'm surprised to be honest.

His "the higher ups won't like it" was always a suspicious comeback. The old guard at Mattel would be choking on their cigars and brandy at Clawful having an extra head? Tell the higher ups about a certain Italian artist and the way he was treated, will ya?

The fact that you would go as far as to complaint with them, however you managed to do so, is both surprising yet disturbing...
Why would they be aware of all this? It's a very small part of their main business, not everyone at Mattel is an OCD MOTU fan...
Besides, I'm sure there's dozens of Managers there, and a lot of them don't know what goes on with other lines.
It's pretty obvious a lot of people here have no clue how a big business such as Mattel work, and how Mattycollector is a tiny fraction of the company.

If you've read other posts, I have contacts within Mattel from when I freelanced for Toyfare- please explain how that's disturbing?

Because you're venting information that the company might not want to make public. Their inner-workings or opinions, could put some people working there in a difficult position for sharing info with outsiders...
    despite being their former freelancer.
don't know about you but when I've freelanced for a company, I've signed contracts that include confidentiality agreements. So as a professional it's surprising...

On the fan side, it's just disturbing... and I'll leave it at that...

I haven't worked for them since 2007 and it was Toyfare that paid me directly, not Mattel . The NDA would have expired years ago as would any liability once Toyfare WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. I also fail to see how a fan taking an interest in higher up workings in a corporation is somehow "Disturbing"- had fans not shown interest beyond what we were being told we never would have got MOTUC to begin with along with the 4HM and Emiliano putting the original pitch forward. I can see you clearly mean no ill will but please limit yourself on throwing around disparaging remarks until you know the story 100% as none of the information I've shared has compromised anyone and in the past when I shared information that WAS leaked I never shared the source so yeah.

    EDIT

This kind of response is also why I usually keep my mouth shut about things when certain people support TG when solid evidence shows that he's far from perfect- I'm pretty sure Scott won't instantly hold a grudge with fans just because they call him out on things, he's far too much of a professional to act like that right?

I've pretty much shared all the info I had after the last bit about management- very few in upper management give two bits of a damn about MOTUC, with the exception of the "old school" guys like Kilpin who had a role in the MOTU properties glory days as well as share holders who seem to regularly bring up MOTU in share holder meetings regularly but that's pretty much common knowledge.

Didn't mean no disrespect, sorry if it was worded poorly... but I still think that professionally, it's not nice to expose things that TG might not have control over... or has to be careful about to avoid confrontations with people inside Mattel.

The fact that some fans go as far as some people do to try to get information is disturbing IMO, but hey, that's just me!

BTW, sorry if I don't follow all your posts to know what you do in life...

forgive me if this has been mentioned already, but here:
    http://www.mattycollector.com/store/...me/pbPage.News

if you zoom in you can see that Spikor's spikes are actually pretty pointy! They are not rounded off like many thought. I'm sure the body armor is soft, but the head would likely be hard like the rest of the figures, right? Any chance they went all Catra's-claw-hand-wet-noodle with Spikor's head? I sure hope not - I hope they didn't choose to make the head soft and safe to preserve the sharp-ness.

That's a pic of the painted prototype, not the final toy. Look at the packaged product earlier in this thread. They aren't as sharp as that picture.

I find it funny that in the recent weeks, Sir Laser-Lot and Spector have become very important in the MOTU mythos. To those who dont want them as figures, your going to regret not getting them. Especially in the coming year.

^ Pretty much this, although I'd tolerate SLL more if he looked like the digital comic version.

He was pretty well drawn in it...but the downside to such a great comic rendition of his look is that clearly (to me) that design does not go well with such a silly name. It's like having a cool looking vampire character like Morbius, but he's named "Battila the Hun" or something... oh well Sir Laser-Lot

Personally, I'd like to know how much of an uphill battle it is to get things released in this line. We've been told by Toyguru about various ways that management micromanages the line, only to find out that they really don't care at all. Management will supposedly care about 200X head sculpts that are hidden in the package or care about who Illumina is, but they won't care about Digital River.

He'll never comment on issues about upper management being in the know as he knows it will get back to them- notice he never comments in these threads about his bosses. You made a perfect point showing how he claims management cares sooooo much about heads and Illumina and the viability of females, yet they don't give a chizz about DR, subscribers finding ways to cancel, people like Emiliano not being on the brand etc.
