Seems like every month that goes by, Pixel Dan's demo figures never seem to arrive at his door in a timely manner. This month he wont get them until after the sale... Kinda defeats the purpose, but I'm glad PD is still willing to review them anyway. But I can't help but feel that it's more than just a coincidence that PD keeps getting the figures late. Right around the time "the brand manager" started making his videos, PD started getting his figures late. Looks to me like one is slowly trying to phase out the other in the nicest, friendliest, possible way.

I don't know the answer to your question, not sure why you would even ask... I merely stated that PD hasn't had a whole lot of time to do the reviews because the figures come so late.

i just figured that you might have something to back up your feeling. cause my feeling is that this is rare. i can only remember one other instance over the past couple years.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion, and frankly, you are never disrespectful. You provide harsh criticism. It's deserved. You're just blunt about it... I appreciate that.

It surprises me that after so long people still buy some of the PR nicey-nice stuff that comes from the brand manager. Maybe it's because some of us have collected or currently collec several lines that he runs, or has run, but I feel like there are some here who get what you're saying, and some who do not.

I think the Arm Cannon is coming in the Weapons Pak.

Still doesnt change the fact that MOTUC is one of the best 6"-7" toy lines to this day and every toyline has its issues.

to give you an example, it's the difference between saying "i have a feeling it's going to rain tomorrow" and "i have a feeling it rained last week". one is something you are predicting and can't back up and the other is something you could go back and check or at least had some evidence (ie, it's really wet, the water level in the lake is higher than normal, etc). that's why i was asking because i could only recall one other instance.

I get that you don't see a trend with the review samples. And that is cool... But I see a pattern where for the past few months the video reviews are either right before the sale date and cutting it close to being after the sale date. PD usually does them right away after recieving the figures. But at any rate, I am being purely speculative that his samples are arriving at his doorstep late on purpose... It's just an idea to play with. Yes, it could be just coincidence, but I'm not a big fan of coincidences. The idea of PD being phased out is just food for thought, like most things I type. It is possible, however not very probable.

That would be cool... Have we ever gotten a newly tooled weapon in a weapons pack before? I ask because I did not buy the other 2 packs. My guess is the cannon will be packed with a figure that will be veiwed as needing a sales boost.

Mattel sending Samples for Review is a courtesy, they DON'T have to do it... hell, I can hardly think of other brands or lines that even do that at all... or preview videos for that matter...

No we haven't... though, they could just charge $20 for it and give us Horde Prime's staff, Spector's whip, the arm canon, etc.

I think Scott may think one of the last two figures will need a sales boost, but he's wrong. lol I hope it ISN'T included with one of the final two figures of the year, or the variant, because that would translate to less stuff for that character.

Yeah, I think I'm on board with the idea that the cannon may come in the weapons pak. The reason for not including brand new items in the weapon paks was because it would cost money to tool them and make a mold...however, that is already done (maybe; seems like it. Those could still just be protos). If they ARE done....then it would be a waste of tooling dollars to do nothing with them, and absolutely no new tooling dollars to throw 'em in a weapons pak. If the molds are already made, then they can tell 'em to "turn on the machines" rather than make a whole new mold just for a weapons pak.

I think the weapon pack idea is the best place, what did we pay for repaints $12? I would have to think more people would buy the packs if they had new parts in them along with good repaints.

However, since my post has created an uproar among certain fans, all I can do is say sorry and ask that the ones who are defensive... try not to take what I say too seriously. It should be well known by now that I am a harsh critic and conspiricy theorist.

By the way the biggest assets the MOTU property has are:

1. THE FANS
2. The Four Horsemen
3. Tim Kilpin
4. Scott Neitlich

I agree on the first three. Neitlich however is not an asset, he just happens to be the brand manager of this property for the time being. People like Val, Emiliano, the guys from the Power & Honour foundation, the people who go out of their way to preserve and perpetuate everything related to the property ... those people are assets.

Yeah, I hear you there. I think the arm cannon has that proto-bright paint, so it's probably not final. I guess I was hoping that the items might have been tooled and made part of a mold, but then not added to a figure because of the cost. Then again....why make a mold if it's going to cost too much? I guess my hopes didn't make much sense now that I think of it...

Okay so maybe the Weapons Pak isn't the most obvious place, but I suppose it's still a possibility. I'm just excited to get it and the Keldor swords, so I'll take 'em wherever they come.

No, the ring IS coming with SMAA. Some people already got their june shipment
