Nothing you buy off the shelf will be an exact match. You'll either have to mix something yourself or get it color matched at a paint shop or somewhere like Home Depot or Lowes.

I've done a commission before of the vintage Zodac and this recipe will work for the Cross-Sell art OR the actual figure. I always use http://privateerpress.com/.

    Armor: Sanguine Base

Skin: Beast Hide and Carnal Pink

    Helmet, Boots, Underwear: Greatcoat Grey

    White Belt: Frostbite

Cool... When I do customs, I just aim for close... not exact... Maybe I should be more colour savvy....

When I select paints, I visit my local craft store carrying with me a sample or printout of the color I want to match. Looking at the paints I remove the plastic wrapped tops of the bottles and squeeze them so the paint rises to the top. I don't trust what the labels tell me I'm getting.

In terms of mixing paint, one method I used when matching a battle armor Skeletor's purple armor color, was to take the figure and applying samples of the mixed paint onto the armor. When the paint disappeared into the purple plastic, I knew that my paint matched the existing color apps perfectly. The acrylic paint I applied was easily washed off.

Good advice. Color matching can be problematic but the pay off is rewarding when you get it right.

I bring the part with me to the hobby store. Thankfully, I have a shop not to far away that carries 4 different brands of paint and usually one of them is pretty close. Even so, I always end up mixing or layering to get it just right. Here's a link to the game store. Check it out if you're in the Chicago area. http://www.games-plus.com/
