This is excellent! Awesome stuff indeed.
Emiliano has nailed two iconic Modulok variants in one go AND kept his action feature intact! Brilliant!
Wow. So good.
However, I'm certain Mattel will screw it up.

Looking good Emil, thanks for posting this Max.
That extra leg to create the Earl Norem poster/Filmation version is essential IMO.
The only part I'm not keen on is the double neck piece but I'm not sure how it could be done better.

Looks awesome.. The only thing I would change/add would be a neck piece to mask the joint a bit.
Take a look at my deviantart. http://kaassouffle.deviantart.com/gallery/
The neck piece is what I dislike the most. I know the classic Modulok had a wonky neck piece, but I'd like to think the 4H are clever enough to come up with a better-looking alternative to giving this guy the ability to have two heads or just one. Other than that, I think this is a spot-on version of a potential MOTUC Modulok figure!
As always it is beautifully drawn and I feel guilty for having a judicious eye.
My ideal Modulok would have multiple combinations like the vintage toy. Comparing the number of pegs to slots of that design makes it seem like it would be more limited to only a few combinations.
There is a lot more articulation than the vintage toy with more assembled parts vs one and done parts with a liberal use of the swivel part typically only used in shoulder and thighs. He'd be able to do funky poses with that.
I'd still prefer more assembly possibilities over each individual part (except the hips) having at least one point of articulation.
Ask not for whom MOTUC is made, it's made for thee.
I LOVE IT! I also hope to see a way to add on additional parts down the road, like bug wings or Clawful claw etc. Any extra parts would rule.
Unfortunately, whatever the intent, Mattel will find a way to screw it up.
Hide & Seek Hordak does nothing to make collecting fun.
Emilliano has posted an update...I'll copy it up at the top too.

First of all, thanks to all expressed their appreciation for my sketch.
I been reading a couple of fair criticims and questions and I wanted to quickly address them.
The neck piece.
Somebody suggested that it could do like a two-necks torso like Two-Bad. It could, but then you'd be stuck to the 2 heads configuration. To make the Filmation version or any of the other combinations, we'd still need to have a separate connector for the neck.
Eamon suggested to do it more like the Mer-Man neck piece. Again, that would work, but only for the neck. We wouldn't be able to reuse that connector with any other part of the body. I guess, to an extent, maybe just one of the connectors could be shaped differently, and maybe be an extra, so not defeating the purpose of making all the vintage transformations possible.
Anyway, the problem with the current neck piece is to make it able to conncet to any other part of the body, that's why it looks that way.
HM.org users Slackrguy is wondering if this design would allow for the same number of combinations of the vintage one.
Yes it would, the number of pegs and ports is exactly the same, so all the combinations of the vintage one are possible. I worked precisely toward that goal and I wouldn't have settled for less than that
Thanks for reading!

I must insist that Modulok be able to make one guy who can stand upright and the 3-legged head at the same time. I <3 the 3-legged head thing.

*edit - I realize that going through the "Classicizer" may eliminate some parts (in this case the 2nd hips) like the vintage Modulok had and the Filmation version is likely more popular than the toy version...but I still <3 the 3-legged head thing attacking while another guy lays down the fire*

Awesome! Love it!
Supporter of All Eras! Including "Son of He-Man"!
Here's a response from the man himself, Slack!
The number of parts is exactly the same, the number of pegs and ports is exactly the same, the only difference is that where there was a port now there is a peg and viceversa.
He can't see the third hip part, but it's there, I didn't eliminate any part "classicising" thisBut instead of being red it's purple wit the green belt, like in Filmation. And instead of having 4 pegs it has 4 ports: two on the sides, one the back (not visible) and one on the top. So, it works EXACTLY like the vintage one and allows for the same configurations
The cardback illustration he is quoting is incorrect: the two guys he's mentioning couldn't exists at the same time in the vintage line either. Once you use the piece to do the three legged creature, you are short of one hip piece to do the guy on the right. To actually be able to do that second guy at the same time, you'd need another set. And for sure you can't have the one mode in the middle at the same time.
Everything else below the top illustrations is correct and it's still doable withe the classics redesign I did (except that some of the pegs haning at the bottom may look questionable....)
His statement is correct, in the context of the figures shown on the illustration of the card back. One could not have a 3-legged head thing and a 3-legged guy laying down the fire (let alone 2). Totally correct.
However,...() one could have a 3-legged head thing and a 2-legged guy laying down the fire. Now, that could be done with his Motuc: Vision. He does point it out himself though when he says some configurations would have questionable pegs that hang...and have articulation...
This is totally one solution to the difficulty that comes with Modulok's design & engineering and updating him in a way that provides more articulated parts. It required a lot of thought and problem solving along with a great deal of talent to draw. I'm not trying to take away from that.![]()
Ask not for whom MOTUC is made, it's made for thee.
I agree with Emiliano that in order to do him right, Modulok will be a $40+ figure and will need a beast slot or similar sku.
Also, they could always make one of the connectors a unique neck piece to make it flow better aesthetically, but the tooling budget probably wouldn't allow it.
All in all, another well thought out concept sketch. Great job, Emiliano!
Awesome !!!
I'd like to see Dragon Blaster Skeletor in Emiliano's pencil...
!I am stunned everytime I see these! Purely awesome!
I could see parts of the Filmation leg being used for Lizard Man. Also could see the people legs used for Rio Blast.
Keep up the great work

Awesome work as always.
I would add also a new piece: A conector in order to use all the extra heads we have on Modulok.
The weapons´plugs can connect also with Robotos / TrapJaw accesories so we can create bizarre new weapons.
More pieces - more fun.
