So the aftermath of Avengers vs. X-Men seems pretty extensive. New teamings, new creative staffs. Uncanny Avengers? Hey-if it gives me more Havok, I'm on board.
Generally, I'm a little tentative when it comes to relaunches. However, I can definitely see what Marvel wants to do here. The Avengers movie was probably the best thing to happen to Marvel Comics in decades. What better time to sprinkle a little of that attention into new books and give potential new readers a new jump off? Plus, ROCKET RACCOON!
Sadly, you can't divorce emotion from a toyline based on nostalgia.

Axel Alonso: Marvel NOW! hearkens back to 11 years ago, when Marvel found great success employing a simple formula: great artist plus great writer plus great character plus great story.
Why am I reminded of high school English class and Julius Caesar.
But Marvel does this thing all the time, I think they are just trying to capture the what DC with the publicity. It most likely won't keep readers because the formula above tells you what is the most and least important.

great story should be most important.
A great story gives you great characters. If you have a great story you obviously have a great writer, having to state great writers implies more you are concerned with the name on the cover page than the contents. Being a comic great art means it's telling the story with the dialogue.
really there should be one thing in that list a great story told through both the dialogue and sequential art. Meaning if you tell a great story all the other things are doing their part to make it great.

I think it sounds fun. I certainly prefer this to DC's tactic.
The great story part is up to the writer and artists. Mixing things up like this could yield some good results. I'm just happy to get some non-Bendis Avengers finally. I don't hate his work, it's just started to grate after so long with him in control.
Not happy about the artist on Iron Man at all though.

I'm looking forward to the Fraction and Aja HAWKEYE ongoing. I still hate his new generic costume, but the art is just gorgeous.
Bendis doesn't write EVERY Marvel title, you know.
it's just another chapter. like heroic age. it's just that they are making a bigger deal out of it (like DC52) w/o destroying their timelines/past stories.
is havok the leader? cap will follow other leaders tho that is odd cause he obviously has more experience. or is that bucky cap?
and thor has never led the avengers.
and is that a shot of the newest version of the avengers? or just a bunch of marvel characters they will be focusing on?

He's a lot more experienced than Monica Rambeau was, and she led the Cap/Thor Avengers.
I'm a DC guy and I've been thumbing through the main AVX book and 1-4 was ok. interesting. the end of #5 left me like huh? and I think #6 was crud.
I've been follow this changes on the internet and I find it interesting.

I am somewhat excited and also apprehensive. When asked if it was a reboot, Alonso says it is not a reboot, or time travel to the past or future but when asked about All New X-Men he says the original X-Men travel from the past to the present. They can't even be consistent in their own press release

The first thing that I thought of when I saw the title "Marvel NOW" was "What's Happening NOW!!!" which was the 80s update/sequel series the the 1970s series "What's Happening."

So far I will be picking up Cable and X-Force (I love the roster) Deadpool (my favourite Marvel character) and Morbius (it is so good that he is getting an ongoing again)
I will check out some of the other top titles but I am not that interested in a mix roster of Avengers and X-Men.
I like the new Iron Man armor. Yellow and Black looks to be a standout in his hall of armors.
Why does the Hulk need metal armor?
Is this another alternate continuity, like Ultimate Marvel Comics? I read the first hundred issues or so of Ultimate Spidey and enjoyed how they retold everything, but they burned through stuff really fast.
in terms of art I HATE how hulk looks, Thor's update is ok, but the previous costume IMO was much better, this one looks a little too sleek but it's based on the previous update at least, I think Iron man looks great, but the look doesn't scream iconic. colours mke it kind of generic but cool imo.

Fear is faith in failure
So quick question how did they make nick fury a white guy to a black guy in the comics. I don't understand why they need to do this. Zodac fury, they did with the punisher in the 90's. Why not just make a new character that is a different race then white. I really don't like that they do it. I see in movies but I'm still against it.

In 2012, the six part series Battle Scars introduces Nick Fury's secret son, Sgt. Marcus Johnson who is an African American and ends up losing one eye in the series. The character has been described as looking like Samuel L. Jackson, just as the Nick Fury of the Ultimate Universe does. Nick Fury retires at the end of the series, and his son joins S.H.I.E.L.D. Johnson changes his name to his original birth name of Nick Fury Jr., as he and Agent Coulson appear on the Helicarrier in the final page.
