I know, but everyone seems to have a similar urge to make Skeletor all Resolute-like now. While I like the MYP, mini-comic and 1987 Skeletor the best, I hope DC doesn't go 90's EXTREME overboard with trying to show how different he is from Filmation.

Yeah I hear ya. And I'm not AT ALL a horror fan, but I kinda think this one time it could be fun to see a really dark take on Skeletor, or at least his origin, even though I think my favorite version of him was MYP.

Yep, I'm definitely optimistic about this one!
When I was a kid I remember thinking about what a scary character this was... and wondered about his "people" after the mini-comic...
Also since he reminded me so much of the Mexican version of Zorak, I liked him even more!!

All the print comics have been so far, so I'm pretty sure this will also be. Release of digital versions is usually afternoon US time.

I'm really looking forward to this! I seem like a rare fan who has enjoyed the DC comics so far, so I really want to see what they do. I like the Keldor-> facial disfigurement in battle with Randor-> bonding with Demo Man to save his life-> driven bat crap crazy origin a lot, but I won't be disappointed if this story deviates. I like to think of MOTU like actors in a troupe...sometimes they tell different stories and act out different tales.

Got the digital version and read it.

In Comixology it's not in same category as earlier digital "Masters of the Universe"
or the printed "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" comics.

It has it's own section: "Origins of Eternia"

Not a terribly fresh take on the origin.
Re-inforces the
- "Keldor-first-born, son of Miro, brother of Randor"
- "Gar are unpure"

aspects that Scott's story in MOTUC Bios has been telling since 2008.

A lot of missing info though tat will probably be explained later.

And Miro is confirmed to be a racist prick.

Uh... WOW!

The story-line is as Jukka says above, but the ARTWORK is fantastic! It is so moody... silent... dark! I just LOVED how this story looked, especially the way colour was used and how the whole thing is on the edge of something like Keldor'a hallucination. Keldor swings between regret and detemrination... Hordak appears to be truly demonic and monstrous - a great interpretation! And best of all, Keldor is very sympathetic. I really enjoyed just looking at how this was done. Awesome.

This is my favourite of all the recent comics. However, considering how bad most of them have been (though I liked Orko's) that's not hard.

The writing is superb in this one ... really, really loved the interaction between Randor and Keldor.

The art is a bit uneven: some panels are highly epic and atmospheric, others seem a little to clinical for my taste. But the vision of death on his rocky throne ... what a stunning piece of work. I didn't care for the heavy black outline on some of the painted pages, it rather diminished the quality of the paintwork (which was very high, in my opinion).

All in all I consider this issue to be the best of the new DC series.

It was okay. I liked the interaction b/w the two as well. I liked Keldor wandering with his face melting, and the flashbacks. Can't say I like the emphasis on him being a creation of Hordak and racism, rather than his downfall also being due to his own evil nature and actions.

Really? I thought it was refreshing to see a story-line with injustice, moral ambiguity & complexity. The black/white stuff is boring, to me.
